    I’m sorry, but this is terrible. I’m a huge Love and Rockets fan and Sweet F.A. is among my favorite albums ever, but it should be obvious why these songs weren’t included. If this disc had been available in 1996 I would’ve bought it and been enraged at the waste of money.

    3 Lies: (1) It’s better to say “I know” instead of “I don’t know.”. (2) It’s better to answer a question instead of asking a question. (3) It’s better to worship what works instead of wondering why something did’t work. Of the many books that I didn’t finish reading, Information Anxiety 2 had a huge impact on my life as a mother, wife and physician. The brief section in the beginning subtitled “Ode To Ignorance” is epic. I am an expert in my own ignorance because I know what I need to do to expel my ignorance.

    This just did not exist anywhere in the mid-90's. I was there, I was giving my undivided attention, and I never even heard of this. I'm happy to hear it now, but this CD must've been "blink and you'll miss it" in 1995-96.

    Richard, LATCH is obviously not the only way to organize information. Here's one more for you: I call it Transformation. For example, you have 3 pieces of information: two day ago the average temperature in your town was 68, yesterday it was 69 and today it's 73. Now look how Transformation works for information: I can organize information about the average temperature in your town by calculating average and say: The average temperature in your town for the last 3 days (based on the information you gave me) is 70. Neatly organized, isn't it? And I didn't use any of your 5 methods. So you were wrong.

    • @DJAD_Kaan
      @DJAD_Kaan 3 роки тому

      interesting but it's actually hierarchical. how you used a collection of information, in this example temperatures, how you organized it is based on their numerical hierarchy. some may think it's alphabetical, but no, alphabet is a sequence we have invented where as numerical hierarchy is natural, even though how the direction of hierarchy is somewhat depends on our human perception. back to the topic, you didn't evaluate any day's temperature by either its chronological, locational, alphabetical or categorical value. yes, if you change the sentence of how you present that average or if you put in among other averages, it can then be chronological (time), or locational organizing. It's interesting, though. let me tell what are the weakest points in his theory (in my opinion). everything may be organized under categorization, in other words, 4 other "methods" are also a form of categorization anyway. LATCH should be an organizing and categorizing method (basically how we utilize data) not based on Location, Alphabet, Time, Category and Hierarchy, but based on Location, Alphabet, THEME, CHRONOLOGY and Hierarchy. But, even then it's a very static way of organizing or at least how we utilize it is mostly in a static way, but the universe is not static. things have prerequisites. An information, a things can only be defined or exist if there are other things came before it. A brick stands on top of other bricks, science is cumulative, information is sitting on top of other information/proofs came before it. Or simply like a tree... you cant have a leaf without a seed came years or hundred years before it, without rain poured on it, without soil brought it nutrition. now how are you gonna organize this. yes hierarchy may work in some ways but how can you accurately organize a hierarchy between rain, soil, seed and a leaf, and a fruit. i think latch is super important, but it should be advanced, maybe by studying science and also deepening the understanding of LATCH. because it's been only used in a VERY shallow way. That's why it's not picked up by data scientists or anybody who does organizing at any level.

    • @robertford8476
      @robertford8476 2 роки тому

      That's one piece of information though: the average. You don't need to organize a single piece of data. If you are referring to all of the temps you used to get the average, well it doesn't matter how you sort them because they are all being added up. Maybe I am misunderstanding, and you just need a better explanation...

    In the last ten years, China has built more high speed railway than the REST OF THE WORLD COMBINED. They are doing amazingly well, proving their system works. That alone should invalidate his claims towards the end of this video.

    • @camilleassiadam5057
      @camilleassiadam5057 4 роки тому

      Just because a certain system works does not mean it is most optimal. In fact what they’ve accomplished under this system proves, if anything that “the sky is the limit” if China and its people are freed.
