Think I downloaded this Ep from If You Make It. Wish I still had these files. Wish they had released these recordings on vinyl. Wish I could go back to those days.

This album is amazing. The dueling, serpentine guitar lines. The tight, kinetic rhythm section. The raw, emotive vocals. I just wish I could find an upload with better sound quality.

Hey Mercedes is by far one of the most underrated bands that I was lucky enough to discover back in high school. I never understood why they weren’t that popular because their music is actually very accessible, with some of the best vocal harmonies I have come across in any genre. They only released 2 full length albums in their entire career, but there isn’t a single track on them that isn’t a solid 10. This album has just about the worst cover "art" of all time... maybe second only to Kevin Rowland's "My Beauty". Couple that with the absolutely terrible title, and, wow. If I didn't randomly hear one of their songs (which I thoroughly enjoyed), there's no chance in hell I ever would've given this album a chance. Still, if I bought this, I'd be embarrassed to leave this thing out in the open. Yes, I judge books by their covers.
