Best spots to eat and drink in Fukui! 福井市の飲み歩き！
Fukui is only an hour away from Kyoto and makes for a great weekend getaway. Famous for its seafood, especially crab, this city is great for foodies who want to try more regional cuisine. Great local sake as well!

Nothing i had was really bad, so I'm not going to go out of my way to bad mouth them. I did say Ding Dum 1968 was just average (but still eatable) ;)
Hong Kong is not the same place like it used to be....I rather travel to Singapore , Malaysia or Taiwan if you like chinese foods.
Yeah, there were fewer tourists (especially Western) compared to 6 years ago, but the food was still good I thought! Also much closer to Japan (where I live) than Singapore and Malaysia.
I frequently travel to SG, TPE, and HK. HK by far has better food and more variety, it’s not even a comparable.

I'm sure it's unfair but you will get fancier feast with 4500 JPY (ca 750.000 ₫) in local pubs here in Hanoi. Nevertheless, no more variety for food, drinks and the automatic beer server.

Don't go to Yat Lok for Roast goose and the staff are rude 100% and force you to order the 1/2 roast goose
Haha ya not my first choice but it was so close to my hotel. Just needed a fix. Most people around me ordered duck with rice. I wasn't pressured at all. Wish they told me there was extra charge for a doggy bag :)
youtube algo did me good with this reco. haven't been back to HK so the the commentary makes sense to me especially on the michelin star restaurants which get way to overcrowded and essentially overrated as the experience falters.

A bit too late but congratulations! I also visited your noodle bar four or five times mainly by the "SHIGOTO" place. As I firstly came to the pop-up, you had your own Kway-Teow having had struggled with how to deal with texture (but you forgot the black bean sauce , which keep me longing for having the one with it without knowing if that noodle dish is usually prepared with it). Also, It seems that you built the largest international community by people bonded with Kyoto. I was helped mostly by the international side of the town, so I still wish to have strong tie with all of you even I'm living 5.000 km away now. I hope all good for my all good people!
Thanks Takashi! Who did you come with at Cigoto no ba? And where are you living now? Yeah, I actually haven't put Kway-teow on the menu yet! My noodles with black bean sauce are like hor-fun in Hong Kong, except I use kishimen udon instead. Hope to see you back in Kyoto sometime!
@eric.noodlebar Thanks Eric, I came there alone, but our Justin shared about the pop-up on SNS, and that was why I came to know. Yes, you cooked that with Kishimen as Kway Teow was hard to get in Kyoto (and still it is). Yes, if time allows I'll show up and I'm looking forward to visiting and having fun! I'm living in Hanoi and I work for a Vietnamese company. I'm the only one Japanese person in the workplace.
