Really cool, thx for posting!
Many thanks for helping to preserve and post these videos for future generations to enjoy!
wow such great memories ! beautiful kenya !
The good o'l safari rally....cold, wet, rainy nights spent waiting for e'm. Nostalgic.
1979…the first of a series of 4 consecutive wins by the renowned Shekhar Mehta. It was held during Easter holidays hence the long-rains season. Add the fact that it involved ‘night’ driving on non-urban roads…wild adventure!!! Memories😊
When marketing departments produced movies with scripts for their motorsport activities
Natsukashii desu ne.
I miss Richard Burns....
man i miss the days when they were in Africa, Dakar going to South America was a huge mistake and i havent seen how the Saudi Arabia one is.

1:28:38 this is real stupid, he does it in the wrong direction. Basically Vatanen lost the rally due to this.
Thanks for the upload! Do you have anything from Rally Indonesia?
Unfortunately not.
Beautiful coverage and very good commentary, very interesting. Want more Dakar rally videos like this.
Nunca pensé que estaría tres horas pegado a la pantalla, gracias por compartir.
Would love the same about 1991 and 1992.
Ss taman tasik perdana😊😊😊😊
Thanks for sharing this. It's a hidden gem for the rally fans especially Malaysian rally fans👍
Please full video sir😊😊😊
i am the one who shot the external video of him crashing into the ditch . 13:17 onwards
I saw your post on fb group then here I am. Thank you for sharing this, Sir
were you working for Subaru or someone at the time? or did this just get sold to a Tv network?
@@PickstockRacingFabrication at that event i was a service crew for a local team. In between service i went around the stages as a spectator. I gave that clip to the then APRC tv crew to use
😊😊😊
Awesome upload 🎯 👌🏻 👍🏻 Many thanks 😊 🙏 Colin McRae and Possum Bourne ✝️✝️
A great video if the picture and sound would have been in sync..
@VHSRallies.. Source of videos?
just a load of VHS we found, not just rallies but all sorts. Due to FOM I won't be posting the grandprix ones.
Pretty cool! Thanks for preserving that. Side note: I feel like Nissan was ince thr "name of quality" up until the Ghosn era. It feels like they are pulling back out of that now
I'm really enjoying this build series. Good timing too because I want to do something about the fuel system in my '63. Its got a fuel cell with an external Bosch 044 pump but I'm thinking of modifying a stock tank and moving the pump into the tank to tidy it up and hopefully make the pump a bit quieter.
Struggling to hear your voice at times. Otherwise good stuff! Looking forward to more.
Ambient noise makes it hard to hear the voice over. Turn it down, or even off at points. The wind noise on the mic, for example.
The chassis seems to be in pretty good nick... Oops, spoke too soon
You really need to get a better mic setup for the voice over
At least you're doing this to a ratty rotted-out bug instead of one with a good body.
Anyone can bolt a set of sparkly wheels on a decent car and say they've built a car.
@@PickstockRacingFabrication Not...sure what that has to do with what I said, but okay.
The work you're doing here is very cool, and I'm excited to see a second episode. But please consider dialing down the "homage to Project Binky" aspect. You're trying SO hard to look and sound like BOM, and you're not them. Confidently be yourself, stop stealing their phrases and jokes, do your own thing - people will still watch it, because it's a cool project and you have your own personalities, cloning Binky is just a crutch that you don't need.
We do share a sense of humor with BOM, especially the Monty Python references, all of the jokes we've 'liberated' from them is really just a homage and anyone watching this should go and watch all of their stuff first. I like to think we're using the whole styles as a crutch until we develop our own which is slowly coming.
Love this Video, really fun to watch. Very nicely narrated.
Definitely see the project Binky influence, and I wish you luck, but the production quality makes it _almost_ unwatchable at this point. I say almost because I watched most of it. Work on your videography skills and you'll have a winner.
We definitely aren't videographers but it's something we will aim to work on. We have just got a new camera for episode 3. Thanks for the feedback
@@PickstockRacingFabrication bad video is more forgivable than bad audio. At least get a pop filter when doing the voice over. Cheap arse lapel mics and a phone can be used for the live commentary.
Came here from Australia. Nice work guys. Keep them coming.
Hi, came here from reddit and definetly will keep watching. Greetings from Germany
Reminds me of the early days of Project Binky! Really looking forward to the next episode - Subscribed!
Nice vid, gents. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Please don't take 4 years. ;-)
You can't rush greatness =) But at the moment we have the opportunity for at least one of us to be working on it full time.
Great stuff! I'll be watching this with interest.
Rutland cement is not designed to withstand forge temperatures. Granted, you aren’t using a real burner and it won’t get really hot, but, that stuff will just crack and spall at forge temps. If you are really unlucky it will explode. On top of that, it has very low thermal insulation ability. You would have had much more success using a castable refractory like kastolite 30, greencast, or bubble alumina. Or, you could have used ceramic wool like inswool and rigidized it with fumed silica or coat it with itc-100.
Rutland or portland? I know the portland cement is out right dangerous. I have found that with the low thermal insulation i probably should have added some perlite. I had major issues trying to find proper castable refractory in Australia, so ended up just using the fire clay and sand method. In the future if i do another one ill look for something both available and better suited to hotter temperatures.
Pickstock Racing Fabrication Rutland event it only designed as a mortar for furnaces and fireplaces. It isn’t designed for direct flame impingement. It might survive with just a propane torch. Still, you had the brass head stuck into the forge. That would melt before steel got hot enough to forge. Look up kast-o-lite 30 to see the difference. It is designed for 3000 degrees. Your method would have worked well with it. Ceramic wool is much more efficient though, and would allow the little propane torch to get the forge much hotter.
Pickstock Racing Fabrication I forgot to add: go to iforgeiron.com and ask for supplies in Australia. We have a number of active members from down under who could point you in the right direction. I know they do have a hard time sourcing refractory cement but they do get ceramic wool. You can get cut off pieces from an HVAC company. They throw out their scraps that would suit your forge nicely.
