I can totally understand a journalist / reporter can find it hard to pronounce a certain name or surname correctly, but here it's clear the mistake is done and repeated on purpose. And it sounds so immature....

Mispronouncing someone’s name and disregarding someone’s humanity are just so far apart. We lose credibility when we drag and reach and stretch like this. If you mispronounced a woman’s name and were told it was bc of ‘the long legacy of disregarding women’s humanity’ you would immediately hear how silly and dramatic that is.
