Wow! Awesome video! the bridge Wow! I would be excited crossing there! I love your adventure!
Really helpful thank you 👍
You’ve got a Glossop Caravans Dealer special caravan, did you export it?
No we bought it new from Nelson Caravans, they are an authorised swift dealer in NZ so it comes with the warranties.. they have been great to deal with 👍
Brilliant video sir, some great camera work and sharp and to the point, you're in the wrong business. Must have watched 4 videos before stumbling on to this one. Best video on this topic by a country mile. ❤
That’s an English accent… 75 dollars !…
Did you see the teapot fence in Ross?
We certainly did, is a little different isn’t it?
@NZCaravanLife yes. So nice to catch up with another New Zealand channel on UA-cam.
@@LittleCamperNZ plenty more videos to come starting in the next few weeks… just need to stop for five and take some time editing 😜 thanks for watching
How old is your mechanism ?
Hi, it’s only just over 2 years old but we have done a lot of travelling over the last 12 months, so the van has been on and off the hitch a lot of times as well as has travelled a lot of km’s.
Those Alko hitches are so complex compared to my standard hitch. I wonder why?
Hi Robert, they are set up to stop snaking, it’s appears to be a really good system. I do remember when we used to connect a spring between the caravan and towing vehicle to do something similar, at least now it’s all built into the tow hitch… thanks for watching 👍
oh I didn't see this one till now...Gutted you lost the karamea footage... How busy was it at Gentleannie when you were there? Sandflies?
Gentle Annie was so busy but we had such a great time there, we’re thinking of going for Xmas and New Year this year.. sandflies weren’t too bad there mostly around 5-7.30pm but we both used lots of repellant 🤣 worst place for us was the Salmon Farm at Paringa The memory card and camera decided to fail so we lost so much footage all the way down the West Coast, we’ll just have to go and do it all again 😄.
better book in now if you want to go for Christmas or New Years I think it will be closed to being booked out... We are at the current time, thinking we might do Kaikoura for Christmas, beautiful spot with heaps to do, although it will likely be very busy. like most places @@NZCaravanLife
@@leopardsgowild Sam looking already 🤣 have you thought about somewhere in the Marlborough sounds like Momorangi Bay DOC camp? Fabulous for Kayaking, Paddleboarding and of course fishing, that time of year you get snapper, kingfish, gurnard, blue cod and if your really lucky John Dory
The cover photo looks the business...and a dump station just down the road.. definitely be checking it out when down that way!!.
It’s a great free camp, with the best water in the SI available. Thanks for watching 👍
A lot of nice toys..if your not careful at these shows youll come away thousands of $ lighter than you intended!!.🤣🤣
Your right there, think you need plenty of discipline aye
Really looking forward to this part of the country. I want to spend a bit of time in haast exploring... what was that song at the end lol...
Such a beautiful area Mike, remember if you want to go for fish n chips at Jackson Bay they stop taking orders at 2.45pm and close at 3pm. I would also allow all day to drive over Haast Pass and stop off everywhere and do all the tracks, although you guys will be able to stay at Pleasant Flat DOC camp, well worth it, then there’s Cameron’s Flat DOC camp from there you can do the track into Blue Pools and continue up the track after there..
Video is steady, well lit and in focus. Good voice over. Helped me. Thanks!
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching
Yum, will have to try this when we use the caravan!
They are so good, unfortunately I never do enough, thanks for watching 👍
Omg where is this
Hi, it’s Lowburn Freedom Camp next to Lake Dunstan in the South Island, New Zealand. Best of all the camp is free to stay 👍
Gosh L Paringa has got a bit flash since I was there last. Looks great! Guess it has the same amount of sandflies?!
They were in the process of putting some flash toilets in there too, just weren’t finished when we were there. The sandflies were probably the worst we encountered. There was a young overseas couple that stayed one night and had left the windows open all night on their van, to say you could play for to dot on them in the morning would be an understatement, they were covered in bites. Thanks for watching 👍
This is a part of the country I am looking forward to exploring... Pretty remote down here
Hi Mike, I’m sure you guys will have so much fun exploring the coast, take your time and enjoy, we found it very different to anywhere else. Thanks for watching 👍
man that bridge at the start looks narrow as... That glacial retreat is crazy aye, would have been so much colder down South with that extra ice around. Looks like you've lost a bit of weight since then bro, doing well all these walks aye. Looking forward to exploring these areas.
The bridge isn’t too bad, the creeking is really weird especially when you are towing your home behind you.. yeah lots a heap, Sam has me out everyday come rain hail or snow 🤣🤣🤣 you guys will love the West Coast so much ruggedness, and lots of doc camps in some beautiful locations.. thanks for watching mate 👍
Excellent clear and informative video. Spot on explanation of some key tips. Many thanks.
Thanks for the feedback and for watching, hopefully you found it useful
Very interesting and beautiful video 📹 👌 😊 and cheers 👍 🎉
Thanks for watching, was a really interesting place to visit with lots of history, well worth a visit
Reminded me of how good the weather was on the coast in January. Sitting here at home and it's raining, watching your video makes me want to get out and explore
Your right there Shannon, the weather was amazing, we were only saying yesterday in 7 months we have only had one day stuck in the caravan due to bad weather.. long weekend this one you should get out there even it’s just to Amberley or somewhere like, plenty to explore around there 👍 thanks for watching
Great vid guys. The colour of that water is amazing. Good on you for facing your fears - it looked a bit scary.
Your right with the water, camera never does it justice though. Every time we get to a swingbridge I just want to jump so sam taking me to the treetops was awful 😢 thanks for watching 👍 see you soon
Great video footage and editing guys. Looks like you had fantastic weather. Good to see Winnie enjoying the life!
Thanks guys, definately still very much learning 👍 Winnie loved the lake there and since we haven’t been able to keep her off the paddle board or kayak
So much to see and do around Hokitika. Well done on facing your fear, the treetop walk is well worth a visit
Was my worst nightmare Shannon, definitely wont do it again 😢 but, Sam really enjoyed it and she said the views were amazing, Hokitika is great and your right there is so much to do around there, we will definately be back with more riding once the weather is warmer. thanks for watching 👍
i'M assumming this was filmed a while back in summer aye? Takes a while to put these videos together aye, good work guys.
Yeah mate, was filmed back in January, I’ve finally got my bum into gear and started editing our footage. We only started with our telephones so lots of photos and a few shaky videos which seems to take ages going through. We did get ourselves a GoPro 11 in Wanaka so once I’ve got the West Coast all edited the footage should get alot better 😜 thanks for watching Mike 👍
Beautiful weather for winter, no Winnie on the walk? Love lake Brunner we stayed at friends house with a gorgeous view of the lake. Hope to see you in the road again sometime and introduce Winnie to Poppy, the pup we were never going to get 😂💖
Hi Maureen, this was all filmed during the summer and was such a beautiful area, we loved Lake Brunner and will definitely be back when we go back up the West Coast. Puppy, puppy, you weren’t going to get one 🥰 thanks for watching
@@NZCaravanLife I know! and I ‘m exhausted 😴 forgot how full on they are.
@@Mau55reen so very true, what breed is Poppy?
Such a beautiful and unspoilt setting.
Your right there Steve, so much of the West Coast is still very unspoilt and can be pretty remote, as well as normally very wet, avg rainfall is 2-10m per year. We were honoured to spend so much much exploring the coast with such great weather 👍
👌👌👌👍………… Best I’ve seen. Made it look so simple.👍
Thanks a lot 😊 great to get some feedback like that. Thanks for watching 👍
Great spot. We stayed 4 nights at Fox river in April. Speng gike at Punakaiki. Last time I was there was 1964.
I would imagine the access to punakiki has changed a lot since you were last there 👍 I agree fox river is a great spot with lots to explore. Thanks for watching 😀
That's an awesome area there on the coast, would love to be able to walk the dogs on some of those walks
We agree about the location as you know it’s just stunning, and been able to walk the dogs hmmm if only eh? 😜
Great part of NZ? Love the campfires
Hi Shannon, we just loved it, as an added bonus we got to meet some fantastic people and made new friends along the way 😜 I’m just putting together fox river, punakaki rocks and the caverns, hopefully they only get better, thanks for watching
Nice vid Guys more places to add to our list
So so many more that we don’t have any footage for too, Gentle Annie Campground is on our list of go back to places. Thanks for watching, looking forward to hearing all about your adventures up north 👍
Great video guys - you’ll have to go back to the mine now that you have a drone!! You’ve been to some great spots!
Thanks guys, I was surprised how little footage we had for the first couple of months, your right we will need to go back so much more to explore especially Reefton. Thanks for watching 👍
So Nice in there aye. Such a great drive.
Your right Mike it’s fantastic, we’re looking forward to doing it again when’s there’s snow around and we have a dog sitter so we can do the hooker valley walk too👍
Nice vid
Thank you, such a stunning part of the world. Of course the camera never does it full justice.
Yep, It does.
Looking at your Instagram it looks like you're having a great time, lots to see and do including plenty of waterfalls.
Hi Shannon, amazing how the Geocaching can take you take places that you didn't know existed as well as those more well known. Thanks for watching
