My issue why does the line come quickly loose after using the machine to cut and trim grass? It gets tangled and I have to consistently stop and untangle and sometimes rewind the loose line.

Its so funny to see this video now. I fixed a near exact same issue in my timecutter ss5425 yesterday. I was going to start taking the starter off because the solenoid tested good and I found the starter stuck open when I took the cover off.

OK I think you just solved my mystery. I replaced the battery which solved nothing. Toro must be aware of this problem as the comments here seem to suggest this is a common problem. Off to fix my mower.

So this was the first video I clicked on and started looking in the stater area and seen there is a small opening you can slide a small flathead screwdriver in and turn the fly wheel, without taking it apart!!!! But thanks without this video I wouldn't have known.

I drilled a hole above mine. Makes for an easy fix for repeat occasions

You don't have to take the whole thing apart

Low voltage is why it happens on all engines for years

so, it looks like the root cause of the sticking starter is corrosion on and around the starter and flywheel. have you cleaned this? if not, it will prob happen again. another thought, and this may have been mentioned elsewhere in the comments...instead of taking everything apart when this happens, couldn't you just wiggle the blades back and forth to get the starter spindle to drop down? thanks for posting.
