I agree! I’d love to own one but I don’t think it’s in the cards for me any time soon.

You just need the Bosch motor - the rest is changeable as required - I picked up another make with more than enough for my needs for $3000 with just scratches and battle scars 👍 - With a CX Gen4 motor with 600mls only the clock

You can absolutely shuttle. There is a little bit of climbing to get from Balsam Forbay to the top of the trail but it’s not much.

I like parking at the old Nursery on Huntington Lake rd. After you pass the Shaver lake marina, hang a left to go towards big creek. You will pass the help pad and shortly after on the right is a little green building. From there you can take the Cannonball Meadow trail up to the climbing road.

That ride was about 18.5 miles with around 3800ft of elevation gain, so it’s a pretty good climb!

That is a great trail! And the only reason it didn’t make it into this video is because the upper portions were still snow covered when I shot this video, but it gives me another reason to go back!

There is a knoll to the east of shady rest park, the trail starts at the top of the knoll. There are a few different forest service roads you can take to the top. If you look at the Strava segments on that map, look for the one labeled options.

Really they are more adjacent to shady rest, but there are a handful of short trails you can do and use shady rest as a central starting area. The options trail is the more exciting one I found around there, everything else is more XC type trails.

It makes the riding more enjoyable than it already is!

The fork is a DVO Onyx D1. The topaz works well once I realized I was bottoming it out (there is an extra 10mm or so that makes it look like there is a bit more travel than is available). I haven’t ridden other high quality shocks to compare it to, but I have no complaints about it. On my last bike I had a rockshock monarch that I was never really able to dial in.

Yeah they are the stock Ibis handlebars. I forget the length off the top of my head but I like them a little wide. My initial build on my hard tail had narrow bars and I felt really unstable, especially at speed.

I need to explore more of those trails next time I’m out there!
