The entire point of travelling by train (or plane) is not having to drive. One fender-bender on the 401, stopping for fuel, food, bathroom breaks etc. can negate any savings in time and I doubt you can drive it for less than the $41 cost of a train ticket.
A car, empirically does not cost less.

One accident, excessive traffic or bad weather on the 401 will quickly eliminate any time savings, and unless you drive an electric vehicle it's going to cost you more than the $41 train ticket.
