Boy I wish you could find the episodes where Johnny Carson stood in for Red. Another strange request would be when Johnny Carson had his old show and the joke was that Red Skelton was gonna be on the show. Finally Red tied him up and said good night lol.

Hello, I am unsure if you will see this, but I was wondering if the music used as the score is public domain? I was attempting my own research but it seems that any score that has been overlayed was done several years after the film was made.

During the second season of his NBC series [Sundays, 7pm(et)], Red filmed several episodes in advance. By the middle of the season, after a brief illness, he was back on the air "live".....and cancelled by Procter & Gamble and the network in June 1953.

As seen on NBC's Sunday night schedule at 10pm(et).

I was fortunate I met Red Skelton at Purdue University in the eighties after his performance . I have a photo of us together. I was so excited ,I smiled so big my eyes closed I'm from Vincennes Indiana where Red was born. My family watched the Red Skelton hour every week. . Red Skelton was and is a WONDERFUL MAN . IM PROUD TO HAVE KNOW HIM

Important note this is the fourth aired episode not the first as claimed on many websites. The premier episode of the Red Skelton Show aired live on September 30th 1951 on NBC. This is likely the earliest episode they have a copy of. It aired on the 21st of October of 1951, on NBC of course. It just doesn't get any better than this. What was NBC thinking when they cancelled him in 53? He was still at the top of his game and was even still making movies on his off time. They ended up making it up to him in 70 but they never should have canceled him in the first place and CBS stabbed him in the back and canceled him with no advanced notice at all. That's part of the reason why he adamantly refused to have these shows edited together and syndicated. It wasn't until the VHS era that we started to see some his old shows. Red was the most moral and decent entertainer to EVER work in Hollywood. No doubt about it.
