I'm so curious how you were able to slow it down without digital artifacts. I've tried this before with Audacity and the waves forms started to pixelate once I reached a slowness threshold. Perhaps the program you used creates tweens which smooth out the waves where they break. Do you begin by editing from a super hi-res scan of the audio so there's actually enough depth to stretch?

I can imagine the Black Mesa survivors giving interviews to a documentary with this in the background or photos of all the scientists that worked there. So chilling.

Hi Slow! I have become such a huge fan! I have recently changed paths and now work primarily as a designer after 30+ working outside building houses. When I'm drawing I can't have lyrics or speech happening at the same time. I find the sparser and more ambient the music in my headphones, the better to get deep into the creative space. And so great that you choose so much material I am familiar with - so awesome to hear it unfold like this! Anyways.... I'm wondering if you do this professionally?
