It really did feel like that for a long time for me too. I think the key is building to be able to tank all or most of it. There is also a Keystone called Ruinous Wager that causes enemies to deal 50% less damage but apply some ruin with their special abilities. It does present a new challenge to dodge all that stuff but it may improve the experience! It might just not be a mechanic for you though, but trust me when I say that there is no better feeling than persevering to the point where you can abuse Ultimatum.

I agree those random corrupted rares are not even worth looking at. The terrible rewards are what made me want to try the catalyst farm though. That and the inscribed ultimatum farm seem really solid, especially earlier in the league when more people need the products.

Oh no joke? I've just started really experimenting with T17s today so I never considered but I'll give that a try. Could be great to just do 1 map to sustain and then not even worry about map scarabs during the strat. Thanks for the tip!

​​@@DSJeezy yes do t17 b2b with x2 Carto + 8-mods + Double map scarab. Do one or two t17 and we can ez spam ultimatum for hours 😂 and we can use 2 Bribing for better reward

You have to do the thing. Some things are "stand in stone circles," some things are "kill a certain number of enemies," some things are "don't let the altar die," and sometimes it's "survive for a time." If you don't do the thing, you fail. If you stand out of the circle for too long, you fail. If you take the modifier or keystone that makes enemies apply ruin, you fail if you get too much ruin. My guess is you've probably taken the keystone that makes enemies apply ruin but didn't read what ruin actually did.

If you're not dying outright then the only other way to lose the Ultimatum is to let the enemies destroy the altar (just in that one type of Ultimatum), stepping outside the ring for too long (accompanied by a pretty telling sfx and timer so you should be able to tell if it's that), or receiving 7 Ruin stacks which can be applied to you either by taking the Stalking Ruin downside and getting hit by the blue shade that spawns as a result or by allocating the Ruinous Wager keystone on the Atlas Passive Tree. The latter causes certain enemy abilities to apply one stack of Ruin in addition to their regular effects. Just keep an eye out for the blue glow and the Ruin indicator slowly forming, hangman style, over your character's head. You can also see exactly how many stacks you have in your debuff bar. I hope you enjoy trying it out! Yeah you're not even the first person to mention that divs/hr just doesn't really work for most people. I totally agree. I can't really make a value assessment without more information. Hence why my videos will be much more detailed than that! I'm assuming you mean quality on jewelry. In that case you are very welcome! If applied correctly they can certainly patch up some holes with resistances and attributes if nothing else!

I know it may have just been the way things were presented and nobody questioned it, but I almost immediately found div/hour to be a useless metric and knew I needed to be more precise. I hope I help you settle on a farm for next league! Here’s hoping scarabs don’t change too much so this data can remain relevant.

@@DSJeezy I agree D/hour is not something I find fun to track. I find that I have more fun running maps and see what my average per map on any farm I run. Most of the D/hour giga chads are no lifers and can do that, but for the average player it's just not something I enjoy.

I used my memories of his insults to fuel me as I stole all of his catalysts :)

I can say that I've had no issues finding buyers for juice. That may differ based on the type of juice as yellow is the big money one. The good thing about Harvest juice though is that it's very easy to go through a large quantity very quickly and thus buyers will typically take your whole stock at once.

Crop rotation is really just a personal preference thing. It's certainly not bad. It feels like with no scarabs the juice on average is about the same but you can get real bad dry streaks going and it requires a lot more thought than just running in and clicking everything in sight. Both are still valid ways to play harvest. It just depends if you are okay with getting literally nothing some maps and winning the lottery in others.

You can definitely get away with dropping fewer maps than I did so swapping regular carto scarab for frags seems like a straight up improvement, but I do still recommend running the 8 mod scarab if you can handle it as the quant bonus is really something else and rolling maps myself became such a chore that I would actively trade some quant to not have to do that. Also yes if this were a crop rotation strategy you would be right! Rushing the harvest to at least see if it’s a worthwhile one before doing the rest of the map can be a good idea. All that said these strategies are open to personal preference and changes can easily be made to your liking!

First off, thanks so much for the kind words! I too am a harvest enjoyer. Secondly, I'm very sorry for the text wall. Please bear with me. I'm just recently learning about it but from what I understand about the map drop equity system those nodes will still increase the frequency that T16 maps drop (and therefore the chance that a T17 will drop instead) as even though you don't see those lower tiers dropping, they are still being added to the pool of equity which is used to determine when a T16 will actually be dropped for you to pick up. That said I did learn AFTER I posted this video that allocating Singular Focus causes maps that would have been converted to equity to be converted to currency instead, which basically just means that any map that wouldn't have already been a naturally spawned Jungle Valley of a lower tier will drop as a basic currency item instead of contributing to future map drops. If you are interested in learning more, the www.poewiki.net/wiki/Atlas_of_Worlds wiki page does have a small snippet under the "Map Equity" section and this Q/A from a few years ago details a few examples www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3130696 All that said, I certainly dropped too many maps and might have benefitted from more raw quantity. You can always alter the strategy to meet your needs!

That is certainly a benefit for something like this. I would have easily been able to purchase hundreds of scarabs in a single transaction if I wanted to. Less time trading and more time mapping does make for a better experience overall. Also thank you for your kindness!

Very nice! I did want to make sure the strategy was easy, no brain usage, and cheap so no rotation. I usually do run crop rotation myself though as I find it much more exciting.

I actually didn't realize that was strange until you pointed it out! I reviewed the footage and you can see it for a split second that I got an eldritch altar at 03:50 that grants eldritch minions the chance to drop divination cards rewarding basic currency. I know I cut away before taking it but I must have as the alternative would have reduced me to 1 ES as I have many frenzy charges.

It's certainly not as good as now with yellow being 1/4000, but blue and red were twice as valuable towards league start. It's just important to know which is most valuable at the time!

I haven't given that a try. You could certainly swap out a couple of scarabs, notably the regular cartography scarab and the magic pack size one, for sacrifice fragments but with the addition of so many new scarabs I really wanted to use as many as I could! I'm not sure I could get rid of the convenience of the 8 mod scarab for just a bit of quant either. Maybe in-between sets of maps where one set is used to resupply and the next is more for profit? There's a lot to alter if you want to try it yourself too. The guidelines here are very loose.

Since when do sacrifice fragments increase pack size? They give 5% quant each, not pack size

@@Filer169 Sorry, my bad. You are right. I checked in-game and it does only increases the item quantity not the monster pack size. I guess the 8 modded map plays the biggest role for more juice loot because of its large item quantity and pack size. Also, the map modifier nodes in the atlas tree.

It's something Im really like about this league I have a bunch of money left over so now I can spend it having fun doing ridiculous farms it's pretty awesome.

Yeah the imbued strat is definitely going to be my go to if prices stay the same and I need money. Way more fun and interesting, but sometimes I go a little crazy and spend all my money (whoopsie) and need a nice "start over" kind of strat.

Unfortunately it appears the add-phase is unskippable. If you are having any trouble getting them into it, I would recommend keeping them away from walls and in open areas. That can at least help smooth things out.

Just go for quant fragments instead

Average investment per map came out to about .4 divine which was like 40-50c at the time of recording.

Thanks for the kind words. The bosses can certainly be tedious to fight, especially long term, but the phasing can be made more consistent by keeping them in open areas. I've run into the most issues with getting them to phase when they are stuck in tight spots.

Yeah I also did have that frustration. I actually meant to mention but must have forgotten that the easiest way to stop their immunity seems to be to move them into the most open area you can find. I think the add phase can only begin if they have enough room.

Sorry if it was unclear. The main reason that I didn't want to exclude any one color entirely is because if only yellow plots spawn then there is only 1 guaranteed boss which kind of defeats the purpose of the Cornucopia scarab. I really wanted to fight 2-3 bosses per map to see how the generation of sacred blossoms felt. It may be more profitable to just farm yellow juice, but I essentially just did that in my last strategy.

@@crazymug While it is possible to generate multiple bosses of the same color per harvest, the Cornucopia scarab will only guarantee that one boss spawns per color. Anything beyond that is pure luck.

@@DSJeezy i was running searing exarch mostly, but maps were all 8 mod for the most part, doesn't really matter now though, gave up the league cuz necro crafting was tedious and boring to do so i weas essentially playing STD this whole time

@@Cbge_Monkey Hmm yeah the difference between altars is negligible to my knowledge. The only other thing I can think is perhaps I was running more explicit mod effect? Anyway the point does seem moot if you've moved off the league. Sorry to hear that!
