I love the Vulcan one my favourite aircraft.❤ That said I dont see the point of keeping her working to taxi 20m, what is the point of this!?! Get her flying or hi-speed runs but not what I just saw, disappointing. 🫤

Great video! I’m one of the people that can remember witnessing this event for real! I served at RAF Waddington 1972-1974 did time on the Flight Line and being underneath these beautiful machines when doing rapid engine starts during an Exercise situation was fabulous. Noise! Vibration! Excitement! but also FEAR! Being aware of what they Could do. Still, I revel in these videos. Well done to all and thanks

Love Wellesbourne! Seen XM655 fire up many times & seen her fast taxi twice. Occasionally the odd warbird flies in, especially Peter Teichman as I have seen him fly in Lulu Belle (his then P40, now sold & is in the USA) & his PRXI Spitfire. Also been lucky to have had a flypast by what was then the Shark mouth Mustang (now painted in USAAF markings & often used by Rolls Royce Heritage Flight). Wellesbourne has so much history, used to have Wellington bombers there during the war if I recall

Evening folks, the blend at 24:35 is to sharp, it needs to be longer, smoother and the profile returned and finally polished. I was the Harrier Force Blade Blending instructor for 12 years. The blend looks like it had a knife edge finish, that is wrong. Follow the profile of the blade. To sharp a blend is a stress raiser and it will fail. On the Pegasus, the first stage compressor blade at 102% has the same centrifugal force as having 12 double decker buses hanging off each single blade (26 in total). Brought lots of memories back seeing the half casing removed. The correct material to use for finishing blends is an abrasive sheet called "micromesh", at the end the blend it should be as shiny as a mirror with no evidence of the file marks. Good luck.

The first time I saw a Vulcan, I knew that I was looking at something very special. My first sight of one was at Castle Air Museum in California in 1975.

What are the main differences between this Olympus 301 and xh558 and xl426 201s besides power outputs

When you see this close up, you have to pinch yourself . By definition this is aviation prowess at an unbelievable level . Even more incredible is that design commenced nearly 80 years ago and the protoype flew in August 1952 . It's a tribute to the aircraft that 72 years later volunteers are so eager to make their contribution to enable this astonishing aircraft to remain "alive" . Wonderful ❤

Really enjoyed the video. I do have to say that the blade blend at 25.20 looks well dodgy. That has got to be a stress raiser. The rule of thumb would be 10mm spread of blend for every 1mm depth of blend. I know that the limits are more generous on final third of the blade but that blend looks too severe (in my opinion).

Found this today after learning the incredibly sad news that we have now lost Richard Grace as well as Carolyn. Reunited with mum and dad. Blue Skies Rich.

I was part of a crash guard that was mobilized after a Buc went down in a field in Germany. We were all armed and told not to let anyone near the wreckage. The jet had been on the range and was returning to RAF Laarbruch when it went down. I can't remember the cause, but i heard one of the locking pins for the folding wings failed. Maybe someone knows more about this fatal accident that happened in the late 70s early 80s.

I used to be stationed at Honington in the early eighties the old home of 12 sqdn Bucs I remember the film with the Vangelis soundtrack they showed us recruits in the careers office , there were still a few "one way trippers" which they used to practice load on exercise in the hard shelters , I was an FOA guard making sure no one interfered with the bomb jockeys while they did their stuff ! Saw the fox tail in the front wheel well which bought it all back , I demobbed the same time as these old girls did along with the Victors of 57 after Granby .
