Learning languages is fun! If you are not having fun, you are doing something wrong.
More than 20 years of my life I thought that I had no talent to learn languages. I was bored with all my language classes until I started teaching. I learned so much about self-education and different methods that can make you have fun and learn easily. Ok, no more reading, I will tell you everything in my videos.

@@Ilytin hey there! Thank you for your comment :) Can you explain why you don’t think it’s true?
Watching this video was a waste of time

To both Polly Glot and Prof. Dr. Thank you for the information you have given to my teacher Akartürk.
Hello!
Hello, I want to know whether there was any Turkish literature before the Ottoman Empire?
Polly Glot. xD :D Liked and subscribed. :D
Hey Polly! Good to see you again. Great tips! Stay safe!
Muito bom !
I think that every language learner has dealt with at least one of these problems. And you're right, nobody is perfect. I guess that's why my ex-wife liked to call me a nobody.
I didn't know that having many resources could spoil my concentration lol Valuable tip. Ty a lot 💕
Thank you very much💙 Greetings from 🇹🇷
You are very right. Regularity in learning languages is one of my weak spots at the moment and I should improve this. Your tips sound very useful for that.
Your suggestions are really very helpful for organize day. Thank you very much Polly 🌸
How to get over the intermediate pleateau?
This method is so hard but useful if you are patient person 😊 I’m gonna try this method.
Your pronounciation of Dutch isn't bad at all. Well done! I use similar language hacking to challenge myself, but also in natural language processing. So I can say from experience it's very effective. Not to completely learn a language, as you already mentioned in the video, but for sure to discover language patterns.
I have a frustrating experience. Not knowing where to begin or hitting a plateau can feel demoralizing and make it hard to hit the books and study like you know you should…Having friends from other cultures makes me more creative. In fresh ways about space and how people create their own world and environment. It is best way to connect between creative thinking and cross-cultural relationships.
Thank you for this comment! I understand what you mean. It is so true :)
:)
Very nice and useful interview and I would lke to thank both Polly Glot and Prof. Akartürk Karahan! :)
Thank you for watching!
Good the see Turkish Professor here. Nice video, thanks. 🙂
Thank you for watching!
Agree re: problem of mixing being overexaggerated. I dont think its a problem either if you slip up a few words from related languages anyway !
It depends on our perception like everything connected to language learning
I only know few words in Turkish, picked them from my Turkish friends
You are right. I personally don't put a time frame on my language learning goals. I just decide that I want to be able to speak a particular language fluently in the future, and just keep on learning until I get fluent.
And how does it go for you?
So so true! Procrastination is a killer! Glad I found your channel I’m subbing :)
High expectations can be a problem even for advanced students :-)
High expectations are an important problem of human beings in general haha
I definitely need to listen more, especially to people correcting me. When someone corrects me, I usually am too prideful and don’t listen, which isn’t good. You need to walk before you can run and sometimes I forget that. Отлично! Arabic speakers don’t understand (well, I think they do understand, but they just get annoyed 😂) when you speak with a bad accent, so that forces you a little bit to sound more like a native.
Also, awesome video!
Arabic is super difficult but interesting, unusual for people speaking other languages. Good luck with your learning journey!
I agree with you! For me, books for kids are not interesting at all. I always read graded reader books until I reach C 1 level. But as you said, they are not easy to find. Great video, Poly!
I like this video!
Thank you!
Great tips. I use for now just quizlet and mostly during my dead times... every break I have at work I practice a bit and I time it. I set a limit per day.
Yeah, quizlet is a good choice :)

So true! Language learning can be fun
Keep it up girl!
Loved it!
Thank you!! :)
I like it before I watched
thank you haha
Listening should be comprehensible. I'm a big fan of Comprehensible Input Theory. I know it is just a theory but... That's what I believe hehe! Great video, Polly!
I think this theory has its limits. I don't think that we can use only one methodology even if this one is proved to be the best :)

Great tips Polly!! Awesome video :)
One of the best teachers in the universe. She helped me a lot with Russian language, especially with the pronunciation and the cases. Thank you for taking the time to help me, it really meant a lot
Thank you very much! It's always a pleasure to help you :) You are an amazing student!
Yeah, I'm agree with u Even if we were struggling with reading the texts especially long ones, she did her best and teached some grammer some tips 👍
1:11 I thought АКМОСТ is Russian for ALMOST))), Wonderful introduction for beginners though, informative and concise.
haha It could be! thank you :)
Loved this! Looking forward to more :)
Thank you :)))

Thank you so much :)
Hi Polly! Great video! I thought you would talk about the intermediate plateau. But it es even better 😉 keep up the good work! Btw... which languages you speak?
Thank you very much! I am fluent in Russian, English, and French, B1 in Spanish, A2 in Portuguese, Czech, Polish, Ukrainian :) And what about you?
@@PollyGlot que bacana! I'm fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Intermediate plateau in German (between B2 and C1 level) and French B1. ;-) at this moment I'm sharpening German. WBU? What is your current goal(s)?
@@o_felipe_reis I'm more concentrated on teaching right now :) I moved to Portugal, so I'm learning Portuguese but with no rush. German is also on my list. I will totally make a video about Intermediate plateau. It's an interesting topic. Good luck with your studies! I'm sure, you will overcome your plateau very soon :)
@@PollyGlot Indeed the intermediate plateau is a must video hehe! Thank you and good luck with you channel and studies as well! ;-)
