Did your campaign reset when you created the mod?
Hey, so the mod does not reset story progress!
Just as a precaution i would always suggest backing up saves just in case!

No sorry the M file is just a readable version of the file so you can see what is changed, the default ini is encrypted in the game but it has the same info as M just not readable without tools.
