If you used double-sided tape, it would not work, because there needs to be movement to separate the tape and the aluminum layers. The movement is what causes the triboelectric charge.

its awful! but for some reason i am intrigued... maybe its the lack of "copyright free" music to accompany the copious use of hotglue? or the determination despite obviously having no tools whatsoever... i think you want heat pipes under the cubes. which is relatively easy to do. make a "commutator" for heat... you want them to heat up as they pass the magnet pole. cool down as they approach... not sure black paint will suffice but whatever... slap two "L's" of iron on the ends of the magnet stack and poke the rotor between them. keep the flux concentrated in the gap. steel rod rather than pencil, maybe... 90 degrees of attraction, 90 degrees of heating, twice per revolution.

@@nostrumuva A simple solution for applying heat could be sunlight and a magnifying glass. It can heat a small area quickly to hundreds of degrees Fahrenheit, and you could test it on your current build in less than a minute by holding the magnifying glass to focus light correctly. If it does heat quickly enough, and the engine works as you predict, it could be a really good way to turn solar energy into mechanical energy for generating electricity in places that are less ideal for solar panels. For an upgrade, fiber optics cables can be used to transfer magnified light for better precision, and to de-link the magnifying assembly from the engine assembly for easier movement of the lens to focus correctly. The only other issue I'd see is cooling the blocks to re-magnatize them. Running them through ice water could work on a small scale, or maybe a larger wheel of blocks to allow time for them to cool. The curie point being at ~70*F will likely cause issues in different environments, and is pretty expensive for it's size, so a substitute like Chromium Dioxide/Chromium(IV)Oxide that has a curie point of 235*F that is cheaper, commercially available, and in a powder form that could be shaped into blocks with a high temp adhesive. Magnified light would be more than enough to heat to reach 235 in moments, having it re-magnify far above any climates temperature would allow for a more versatile product, and allow it to cool below the curie point faster due to a greater difference between the block's temperature and ambient temperature. Using a cheaper material also allows for larger scale builds. Anywho, this is all "what if's" that assume it works as expected, but if it does this could potentially be used in cold environments where solar panels are less efficient. It may even be possible that it is more efficient than solar panels since the light is being used as a heat source instead of using it to stimulate a chemical reaction, because it would theoretically use close to 100% of the sun's energy. Granted, solar panels still produce some energy on cloudy days, and this idea probably wouldn't, but it's an interesting project nonetheless, so I subscribe and hope to see a future update.
