Sidequest: Games to play with your kids
I’ve got all my notifications on for UA-cam and your channel but I always seem to miss your live streams 😢
@@HxC2daB the gaming live streams are a bit all over the place but our live episodes recordings are on wed 830 EST. Thank you for the follow, hopefully you can join us soon.
Kieth as the invisible woman 😂
I love listening to you guys when im driving! I believe you guys are my top listened podcast last year haha! Keep it up
@@Josh-rd5dw thank you so much for the kind words and the continued support.
Love the pod!
@@MollyCarlos-f8k thank you so much
Because they’re not Australian
you might be stupid if you have to question why
Well option A, they do nothing and risk people dropping their game when their fear in a (likely) non-horror game sets off their phobia. Or B, they decide to handle spiders the same way other devs handle color blindness. Imagine getting mad that the devs are being inclusive towards people with color blindness or dyslexia. It’s the same thing: it’s a setting in the game that makes the game more accessible for people whose inability to proceed past an obstacle would ruin or altogether prevent them from continuing to play. Personally I think there should be more options like these. Give me snake phobia that turns all snakes into slinkies. Trypophobia toggles that blur speckled holes on giant enemies. The more people that can get into a game I like, the better that game’s community will be.
It’s not that it’s bad to have in a game, just a question of why arachnophobia is the only one that seems to get so much attention.
Subnautica thalassophobia toggle - game crashes
hell yeah, all power to big arachniphobia. spiders give me the creep 😎
arachnophobia is a widespread irrational fear of spiders meaning that game devs probably will want to have an option to toggle on and off a censor for spiders so that more people have the ability to play the game idk it makes sense to me
True
Dev has arachnophobia
Been listening to a few episodes on spotify and liking them so far! Also, I can’t understand the intro most of the time, as the music is too loud and Andrew speaks too fast. And Keith is a buzzkill sometimes haha
@@CD92837 thank you so much glad you enjoy it and thank you for the feedback. We will remove Keith immediately
I could not disagree with Liz more 😂 I am not a big souls-like fan at all but absolutely loved this game. I found the bosses fun, the plot memorable, and the world engaging. However, she may be right about the long arms thing 😂
No offence, but keith looks like a biker
The most unintimidating biker
Great episode guys. New subscriber over on Spotify and really enjoying the show and back catalogue! Such a fun podcast ❤
Thanks for checking us out. We have plenty of backlog episodes for you to enjoy

Thank you. Yeah we will add zombie army 4 to our list. Thank you for listening
I'm not going to lie I've never seen this form of UA-cam video, it's somewhat interesting, also grounded is one of my favorite games of all time and I play on game pass LOL so what are the odds 🤣😭
Can you guys do "High On Life" next??
Yes of course! Unfortunately the episode won't be released till January because we have episodes lined up for the holidays
Awesome! Thanks!
I wish they didn't take the first game off of game pass. I would love to play both back to back.
It scorn a be a good episode 😂
Can you guys do Beacon pines? I would love to hear your guys take on it!
Absolutely we will add it to the list. Thank you
Enjoying this so far. Made some notes because there's some interesting talking points: - The new trilogy went thru three different publishers. Squeenix for the first, WB for the second and then self published by the third. But overall compared to Absolution it was essentially IO's vision the full time - It's not a full on reboot, it's a soft reboot. The old games still happen and get referenced semi-frequently but this is its own arc - Hitman 2's cutscenes were due to budget restrictions. Squeenix dropped the devs after the first game's sales disappointed and thus cutscenes were made on the cheap. Hitman 2's DLC levels New York and Maldives then have fully animated cutscenes because they were made later - About the cutscene talk. One of you was talking about how disparate the overarching story and the level story was while the other was saying it didnt feel that way and you couldn't make that communication well. The reason why is because since she played the third game and the other guy didn't he didnt see that the missions in the third are way more integrated into the story. Instead of having a standalone cutscene in Germany and then it says you're going to India she was talking about watching a cinematic that physically put you right in front of the level and the reason you go to the level is to further the story. Rather than the cinematics furthering the story after the level is done - Another thing about the AI. Once you get used to it you realize how well made it is for its genre, but you cant approach it like it's meant to be human AI. The people look and talk like humans but they dont act it, and it's all intentional. Characters can see very far but if theyre on their phone they become practically blind. Targets can be lured to ledges with a mere trail of coins - About the grape crusher death, if it makes you feel better the woman you kill using it is specifically said to be a former CIA agent turned political party leader who tried founding a cryptofascist political party in Argentina and is now helping fund a merger of every corporation the secret society owns to create a corporate country - The problem she had with the exits was Hitman 3 has a lot more story focused missions. So they railroad you to a single exit in most of the levels the first time you play. They disable this story focus on replays but thats why Hitman 1 & 2 were way more lenient for the others - On if 47's a hero or villain: they definitely make him more of a doer of good in this trilogy, and another example of a bald hero is this is a retro one but Kojak
Subbed
This is great. Thank you so much for clarifying a lot of things. I think we need to add this to the show notes for clarification
Guy who complained about the cut scene jumps in Hitman 2, here. This is an awesome breakdown, thanks for filling in the gaps! Still won’t sway my opinions on overall stealth games because I’m so bad at them, but this answers a lot of issues I had with Hitman, specifically.
@@kjlynch121 cool!
Hi I'm a big fan but I think you should try grounded again the updates have made it so good but I could play whith you and show you the new stuff and that
Thank you so much for listening. We actually probably will play again when it gets the 1.0 patch in September. I know Liz really wants to revisit it. We can definitely play then.
Hi
Hello
I don't know if it has already said later in the podcast, but technically the only way to lose this game is for the evil genius to die. Because of that, the agents of justice that come to your base, usually do so to kill you. Playing devil's advocate, even bad guys have their right to protect themselves. By the way, in the first game, instead of incinerators you had freezer rooms.
Hahaha trying to justify the evil genius defending his home as well? Is it still considered self defense though if you are trying to control the world? Gotta say I'm glad they changed it to an incinerator because a freezer is pretty dark.

Can you do wind waker
Sorry we would but we mostly do Xbox Game Pass games
Ok
Great episode as always! Also I think you guys should do an episode on Subnautica below zero, I really enjoyed Subnautica 1 and your episode about it and I would love to know your thoughts on the 2nd game, was it better, or worse? It would be a cool comparison to here your thoughts on.
Happy 3 year anniversary!! 🎉🎉🎂🎂
I love halo thanks for covering this one!
We are one recommendation away from covering halo 2 if you want us to continue. Thank you so much for listening.
I absolutely adore your content keep it up!! Your podcast is a hidden gem and I am so glad I stumbled upon it. Thanks for making my life a little bit better! 😄❤️
Thank you for one of the greatest comments and thank you so much for listening. People like you is why we love to do this
I had a really fun time listening to this episode. Say, is there any way we could get video versions of these episodes? Would be really cool.
Absolutely. Andrew tries to get some in game footage with the episode audio but he's been slacking. We ll get some for this episode soon. Thanks for the comment.
Came across your podcast about the time outriders came to game pass. All 3 of you do a really great job sharing your perspectives while having fun, and have helped me take a plunge into game pass. And now with Xbox cloud gaming just having been release, I love getting to listen to your reviews and then trying out the game right away via browser. Also really enjoyed this Sidequest episode and getting to listen to what y’all are hyped for. Keep up the awesome podcast, reviewing the massive library and value of game pass.
Thank you so much it means a lot to us. I'm glad you enjoy the sidequest episodes. I'm always curious if people do like them or they just want us to stick to games. If you have any ideas for a sidequest episode or game you want us to check out, let us know!
This looks super cool😀
visually its pretty cool, but it lacks a little in gameplay. thank you for supporting our channel
Hi. I found your podcast a few months (spotify) and have been binging ever since even though im a ps player and sometimes psvr but i still use this for my final deciding if should buy a game this was actually the reason i got Undertale
Oh wow thank you so much for listening. It means a lot. Who do you side with more in opinion that made you want to get it? Have you been enjoying it?
I liked the view Keith took on it but i really liked everyones part and i the how everyone is looking on the game a little differently on the game. I love your different opinions/reviews
I bought doom eternal day 1, loved it. Can't wait to play the dlc but I want to buy them all at once
The DLC is great but it is crazy hard. The story goes in an interesting direction
Enjoy the gameplay Follow me on twitch.tv/firebird01952
Dang, this game looks so good!!
I love your Podcast! Can’t wait for more content to be posted on your channel!!
Oh wow we do have some one wait for more UA-cam. This video is actually why I paused. I found the picture quality poor so I have a capture card and more videos are coming. Is there anything in particular you want to see more of like game pass PC?
Hm, I don’t know, I think that Game Pass PC might be a cool thing to try, maybe try it out in one of your side quest episodes, and see how the other fans like it. Idk, just and idea
Also, thank you so much for responding! I got so excited when I saw the notification!
@@datchuck3449 thank you so much for the feedback and thanks for listening. We all get excited when our fans reach out to us
