I can relate totally. I collect 1/12 action figures so even though in my case the boxes isn’t really a problem I’ve experienced the Fomo and the price changes (even though of course this ones aren’t as high as the scale figures). What I have done is to ask my self two things Do I really like this character? Like for example it happened me with Naruto I got all the hyped and bought it but actually years later I realized I actually didn’t need it so yeah I ended up buying it for the hype. Or with my majin buu yes he is a great figure but honestly I just bought it because people said it was good. And the second question is this my favorite transformation or outfit of the character? It has happened to me that because I want a character so badly I buy him when I actually didn’t like the outfit and I just do it for having him. So lately for example with kaiju I love shinomiya but I like her with a specific outfit which hasn’t been released so I’m okay with taken the risk that maybe she doesn’t get released in that outfit.

This video came out a year ago but the topic stays relevant - having gotten into collecting something other than anime figures, i decided to downsize my collection and have felt relief over that because more money, more space, etc. Unexpectedly, i scored a figure i'd considered a grail (Leonardo Watch by Alter) but never dreamed of owning bc of aftermarket prices locally for almost as much as he went for at release (10 years ago!!) and i think this is the way i want to go about collecting. Just happy findings here and there. Mandarake has always been my favorite store bc of that 'lucky find' feeling. Happy i'm out of the fomo phase, but i agree with every point you make in this video! Especially the boxes, oof the space they eat is wasted when you live in a small flat or only have one room

Love him! Received mine last week, and I loathe the giant base. The support goes between his legs to hold up the low part of the jacket (sadly on the inside where it's more obvious). Thankfully, someone on MFC posted a pic on where it goes. Thought I was going crazy trying to figure out where to put it.

Well I think people were complaining about the hex bases so GSC started doing the circular ones. And now people are complaining about those 😂 If it were me, I would have still colored the circular bases instead of just going with black or white.

burnout can destroy your passion. I was massively into funkos, a lot of videos on channel are funkos, but the more I got ( or tried to get) the more I saw the same poses, same defects, restrictions to only certain countries, then over the top after market prices...so I stopped and sold about 2 3rds of my collection. Due to costings prize figures have always been my go to and there is some really great ones out there...also some very basic and generic posed ones. I think its all about finding what budget you can work with to what type of figures you can buy, collect and enjoy. With anime being so mainstream now it does mean there are more options out there but that also has its downsides of companies pushing out mediocre figures and merch just to cash in on it all.

Marriagetoxin definitely one of my favorite newly licensed series. Love the art and the story. Bocchi is one of the ones I kind of want but it being a band series I like to hear the music.

There are some amazing streetwear miku figures coming out but its definitely worth waiting for the aftermarket as there's definitely a trend of miku figures tanking in the aftermarket.
