Use Bleach to lighten this dresser!

This is one of my favorites flips thjs year. This stripped look has been super popular and sold super wui k! Be sure to hit that subscribe button and follow for more.
To strip and bleach this I did the following steps:
🌟 Cleaned and removed all hardware
🌟 Used my carbide scrapper and my favorite chemical stripped @kleanstripproducts to get off existing finish
🌟 Sanded with 120 grit after stripping
🌟 There was existing hardware ghosting marks left over after stripping. To get rid of them I used A & B bleach all over and let fully dry! This bleached the wood removing the hardware marks that had been there for 50 years 😳
🌟 After bleaching I used a 120 block to lightly go over the drawers again to prep for
paint wash
🌟 For my paint wash I used my favorite color Leatherwood by @wiseowlpaint and diluted it in a 1 to 6 water mixture. Spread that all over and wipe off
🌟 Once dry, use the top coat of your choice to protect and seal it. Added new adjustable hardware so we didn’t have to drill any new holes and she was ready for her new home!

Amazing result, thanks for sharing! I would like to kindly ask whether it is a project one can tackle not having a workshop with a lot of power tools, we have just very basic ones. Would also like to ask whether the Havsta units are robust (especially the shelves) and don't buckle under the weight of books. Thanks

Doesn't a wire brush scratch up the wood?

when you painted the Havsta, did the primer and paint COVER that Wood grain look on the Havsta Cabinets? This way the finish across all the unit looks Uniform
@@IknowImNotCrazyYoumightbe yes! Everything was painted with the exact same primer and paint so everything was uniform looking straight across. No difference in them!

This is called Shipwreck and it’s a Behr color 👍🏻
What did you do to hold all bottom pieces together?
For all the bottom cabinets we screwed them together in the back so they are now one “piece” and can’t separate 👍🏻

How do you avoid issues with the drawers being in place during spraying?
I have not had issues before with spraying with them in but I do always suggest to take a piece of painters tape and cover the dovetail joints or sides with one strip in case there is any over spray. Helps keep them clean!
