This channel is all about amateur photography and the challenges that photography presents. I am not trying to be a professional or even the best amateur and that is OK. It is OK because it is not always about the picture, but it is always about the experience. So, even though I don't have any pictures worthy of acclaim, I am happy with what I have because it is a reminder of the experience of being there. I have been taking pictures for years and have boxes full of snap shots and I have hung a couple of them on the wall for my enjoyment not caring what anyone else may think. That is where I am with photography and if you are struggling with your pictures remember you are not a lone. So don't be frustrated, just go out and enjoy the experience; and keep that shutter clicking. f 8 and be there.
Lifting The Flat Deck of My 4 Runner
I modified my flat sleeping deck for the 4 runner by lifting it up. It becomes a lot more utilitarian.

Is WOW CA better than Starbond?
Переглядів 359Рік тому
While making an Apothacary Jar out of an old piece of Leland Cyprus I used WOW CA glue and saw dust for a filler. Did it work better than Starbond? The results are in. Also received two new gouges from Sorby, did they work? Are they as good as they claim to be?

Does Min Wax wood filler stain, do angle grinder carving tools work
Переглядів 363Рік тому
Saving a wedge cut from a white oak tree is harder to do than you think. I used angle grinder carving tools to accomplish the task.
Sorby Carbide worked better

Started cutting with a Thompson bowl gouge but the end grain was too tough. Switch to my Sorby carbide and now see the results. What do you do with a wedge from a down tree? You make a bowl.

Thanks 😊
Thank you for sharing this restoration! I learned so much from watching it!
thanks I appreciate your response and glad it was helpful
It’s not the pump that goes out. It’s the damn thing leaks all the Freon. They suck. The old Frigidaire‘s were great. These are garbage make another video when this one takes a shit after one year if you’re lucky to even get that, I’ll start freezing over and frosting and you’re Freon will be gone. It runs on 410 a Garbage
Yes they are, so I have been buying the replacement insurance when they fail. Cuts the cost of the next dramatically. Sadly, the other brands are no better, they are all Chinese garbage.
Beautiful!
The only reason to do another review is to describe your cooking experience. Your experience added nothing. Boiling 1” of water is of no interest in cooking. You failed to say how small the heating magnet is. I own this cooktop. It warps my 11” Matfer carbon steel. The surface of a pan heats unevenly. A propane burner is much better. No thanks to this “content”.
Don't blame me for your bad experience. I'm just the messenger. Get well soon. 😊

I can't get the timer to work.
Sorry but I can't help you, don't know what your problem might be.
It goes from 100° - 460°F NOT fucking 350°F!!! It doesn't even have 350°F!!! 340° & 360°F!!! Do better!

What is the brand name or Model number for your steady rest?
Woodturning Steady Rest Compatible with 12" Lathe Swing, 3-Point Adjustable Wood Lathe Steady Rest on Amazon, but they are currently unavailable.
That my friend are what washers are for!
Just got one and 2 things I dislike about it right away, The temp changes are in 20 degree increments, which is the worst I have seen yet, and the light at the power switch stays lit. Don't understand either. You cannot get 350 or 375 temps which are common. Not recommended at this point.
Yes the serial number backwards is the date it was made. If it is made in Candida rather than Altavista, they will have different numbers or numbers attached with a sticker in Canada, which was lost.
Thanks for helping out
But which model? Duxtop makes a bunch of them.
BT200TZ Thanks for watching
99% of what he talk about has nothing to do with the dammmmnnn putty!
Life is a struggle, you need to find one.
I just opened mine. Doesn’t do anything but blink “pot” then shuts off.
It only works on steel or iron cookware. If a magnet won't stick to the cookware the cooktop will not work
way too noisy.. took it back
I'm curious how they work. I have mold issues. Even our couch mattress had black spots. Been using the dehumidifier. But the toilet bowl never empties. It feels warmer and dryer with it running for sure. But I wonder how much it actually helps. I feel a difference. But can't seem to get a grip on the mold in the house. I wonder if it's a scam when the toilet bowl stays full

I used this Duxtop the double burner version as my main kitchen stove. It worked great and after I moved I miss it now that I use a gas stove.

Thanks for this video.
Great video! Can you tell me from experience with it, as manual wording is confusing regarding to timer mode. Manual says if you are using TIMER mode and set timer, Says once that timer stops you must repeat all steps above to set a timer again? meaning it only sets 1 future timer up, and for example if you select 8 hours , it will not continually turn it back on and off every 8 hours? Odd. I wanted it to make it run exactly every 8 hours without having to manually set it each time. Am I misunderstanding the function of this option? And with the option to CHOOSE your humidity level, if you choose 50% say, it will turn itself on and off by itself throughout the day to maintain that 50%? Fan will run but compressor only when needed. Or do you need to keep restarting it that way too? Continuous mode does not let you set a desired level and runs 24/7? Any feedback on these 3 options would be appreciated.
Thank you for sharing this valuable video, I do appreciate it.
Thank you sir!
Dude, you have no business turning a log like that on such a light weight lathe.
Thank you. Excellent. Two things: 1), seems like a PITA to put together 2), I wish it had an aluminum mesh bottom (floor). Those holes are so big on the bottom. Better than steel, for rust &!weight’s sake
Not difficult but a pita
Did the 50 pint unit ever work out for you over time?
No. It works no better than the 30 pt.
@@cuddysark1 i agree. I'm slightly disappointed actually.
Did you test it the same time of day? Humidity is much higher in the early morning.
Good question, yes the same day at the same time.
What job/MOS did you have in the Military?
Not sure what that has do with flattening the deck, but I think it was 67u20. That was 50 years ago, and something I have put behind and have forgotten about.
thank you so much for sharing, question, can you use an extension cord
You should use a cord rated for a 20 Amp circuit. Otherwise heavy duty. This all depends on how long a cord. Personally I would be very careful about using one. Maybe other watching can advise better. Be safe
Nice job! As soon as I get my next 4Runner I will be referring to your video to build my flat cargo platform! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your video! Keep'em coming!
Thanks for watching, I just put up a new video and I have raised the deck. I like the new approach must better. You might want to take a look see
That’s not yellow glue, it’s mustard! 😂 joking aside, thanks for the tip!
Thanks for watching, You got me wondering if mustard would work
I bought one of these because of you, Thank you for taking the time to make this.
You are welcome. Enjoy
What size staple did you use?
As best as I can remember they are 5/16
This guy is a Beast!
GERRRthank you, I think? :)
I wonder if the energy efficiency rating of the 50 pint caused the difference?
I don't know but from the weight and the looks I think the guts of two are the same
Somebody needs a much larger lathe. After mounting large chunks of wood, I take a chainsaw and trim them down. ...but that was a long time ago. No turning nowadays.
My tail spun out because I didn't have it locked down when using a drill bit. Sorry to hear you no longer turn. Never too old, I am living proof along with Richard Raffin, we are the same age.
Have you experienced Mohawk spray toner drying foggy/cloudy? It did that on a test piece I did. I’m in Texas where it is very humid. Do you know what an ideal humidity % would be to avoid it drying cloudy? Thanks.
They make two types of toner, one is glossy and is used for top coat, the other is flat and use only for color matching and needs a top coat. Check their website for more details.
Thank u for this explanation!

Do you have any tips for the rain leakage problem ?
Sorry I don't. I haven't used it in rain
I bought mine from a company call MaxxHaul bit its essentially the same rack. One thing tho.. the bars that hold the top and bottom together go on the inside of the rack not on the outside. They rest on the inside rail and become structural supports.
You are correct, they go on the inside of the frame. This would add to the strength. I am not going to change mine because I have added a 3/16 plywood floor which adds some strength and keeps water out when it rains. I have tried to rack mine to see if I need to change the supports to the inside, I can't so I am not going to worry about it. Thanks for the correction.
@@cuddysark1 I thought about adding a floor also but thought it might lead to water puddling. I'm going to mount a large storage box to mine to keep things dry. And I understand your mod on the support bars. If it works then all is good!
@@ChefDuane I coated my with exterior oil base paint, about 3 coats hopefully that will keep it dry.
