Nicely done, he kinda fits a good aw11 mr2 owner, normal in appearance & approachable but probably a meticulous fellow. Tycho's retro-laid back music fits this story perfectly. This era of MR2 was often described as a "poor man's Ferrari" but the nimble MR2 with its robust 4age engine probably gave more smiles per dollar/euro than the whole elitist Ferrari brand ever did & after all these years obviously continues to....
how is it a 1984 with spoiler brakelight and the sideskirts? Pretty sure they werent a option until 1986. Also that interior is 100% mk1b interior with the handbrake placed where it is and also mk1b steering wheel. It also says toyota below the eagle; right above the headlights it says Toyota MR2 and the optional wind visor spoiler thing says Toyota. Last thing is that the t tops mr2 didnt come out till 1987 so i dont think your mr2 is year 1984.
Thanks for tour comment! you are right, this example is 1989. I see you all MR2 lovers dont miss a thing!! haha. When i made the video i wanted to point out when the car came into production (firstly) and also meant to talk about this example when saying it doesnt say Toyota other than in the steering. Only reason is the previous owner took it away...
how much does one of these sell for in good condition today?

I just picked up a red '85 in the USA for $500 with an engine potentially low on compression. Looks like I got a steal compared to elsewhere in the world. XD It will be featured on my channel soon, including a potential engine swap, if anyone is interested. :)

+DB742 Sadly i don´t get the time i´d like to to go to car meets and know more people with cool cars to do some more "What i drive" shows... it´s a pitty, it started nicely and was having fun recording them but now i just don´t have the time or find the cars to do more... At 3:02 I would suggest changing the front and rear engine mount bushings. The engine is moving way to much when you shift. Its 80 USD but it will work wonders. The engine feels a lot different and you don't waste power moving the engine around the bay. There were Toyota stickers on the outside. On the front bumper and on the rear window spoiler, which is originally see-through. on this car its painted red. The interior color combination is really tacky, especially the upholstered glove compartment and gauge cluster cover, but that's just taste and my opinion, so feel free to disregard it. Otherwise a fine example :)

Hey! could you point me to some place i can buy those mount bushings? Talked to Toyota with no luck here in Spain, they werent very helpful and i don´t want to buy something wrong on the internet... Thanks a lot!

Dude I wish there were subtitles. I also own a red mr2, people in Florida love it because there aren't many here. I think only 400 were sold over here in Miami and most of them have been turned into track cars or rusted to hell in the salty air.

Me encantaría! Sólo conocí a una persona con un AE86 y estaba en Madrid...
