I am actually quite confident that splitting it in 2 should work really well for wicked as it has 2 distinct story arcs. And they can flesh out some of the plotlines that the musical glosses over for time constrains esp in act 2.

I was once asked to write an essay on my favourite musical, so I chose wicked and ended up writing about how the lyrics perfectly foreshadowed Elphabas journey. I can’t find it anywhere now.
