Lucky that this was my second day of the season and the first for Cam in three years.
A really late season here with big snow on September.
The rope tow on Mawson run wasn’t working so that was perfect for us. On these trips we usually hike to add and extra element.

Well I've never seen this much snow this early in the season in Tasmania. There was a lot of it! Mt Mawson is located in the Mt Field National Park in southern Tasmania. It is a 1 hour drive from Hobart to the base of the park and then a further 30 mins up to the snow. Check road closure information before travelling on the Tasmania Police website. Mount Mawson ski field is a small field located in the Mount Field National Park in southern Tasmania. The Mt Field National Park is a one hour drive from Hobart, Tasmania. The ski area at Mt Mawson is a further 25 mins drive up into the alpine area of the park. The ski area is then a 30 min hike up hill and features two rope tows that are run by the Southern Tasmania Ski Association. The tows were not running on this day so we hiked a bit. A great day.

It’s super hard to predict, I’ve usually had luck later in the season like September Check the cams on ski.com .au 🏂
