Our First Gold Beer Award
We won our first gold medal beer award! I also reflect on the balance between hard work and efficiency, and how finding a flow state in both brewing and jiu-jitsu has helped me improve my process.
첫 번째 금메달 맥주상을 수상했습니다! 또한, 열심히 일하는 것과 효율성 사이의 균형에 대해 생각해보고, 브루잉과 주짓수를 통해 흐름 상태를 찾는 것이 어떻게 저의 과정을 개선하는 데 도움이 되었는지 이야기합니다.

    I'm going to check your channel for an update on this. I'm about 4.5 months post op for an ACL recon. I was injured by a bad takedown when I decided NOT to fight my larger, more experienced rolling partner due to the strength of his grip on my leg. I'm still pretty bitter about how it happened as it was supposed to be a light flow roll and he had time to do absolutely anything. I'd like to get back to drilling in a couple of months just so I don't feel like I'm forgetting everything I ever learned. I don't really retain much by just watching BJJ. Still I know if I come back and re-rupture my ACL I'll be devastated! I've always been blessed with good health and athleticism. Being active has always been the number one joy in my life. So being physically limited and feeling like my leg might not be the same again makes me wonder if BJJ is really worth it - even though I miss my BJJ friends and the way BJJ training used to feel! Right now my gym is offering a discounted membership if I pay for 12 months up front. I'd like to be optimistic and think that I'll be able to train often enough - without reinjury - to make the membership worth it but I just don't know! Do you train less often than before? I think the need for strength training is ongoing post ACL recon which will take have to away some of the time I used to spend in BJJ classes. I'm unsure of how I'll strike a balance given how time consuming rehab is!

    • @mouthguardcomic
      @mouthguardcomic 9 місяців тому

      That's usually the case or maybe a teenager who has been training for many years and for all intents and purposes, is a black belt. However, the spider guard is probably catching a lot of people by surprise. It would be hard to find someone who can mimic him so it is probably difficult to train for him.

    • @brewjitzu
      @brewjitzu 9 місяців тому

      yeah that's usually the case but from time to time there are some people who just pick up BJJ faster than others too. this kid has been training once a day, five days a week for about four and a half years since he's been going to school, and I think his skill level his much higher than average for other people with that much time on the mat

    • @mouthguardcomic

      @@brewjitzu That will do it! That much time concentrated over four and half years will lead to incredible results.
