Discipline Before Dishonor
Canada
Приєднався 4 лис 2022
Welcome to Discipline Before Dishonor, where Prometheans like us embrace our mountains, withstand within, and confront perdition with distinction because we love challenge and triumph. There's nowhere to go but up, and each limitation is just a new plateau to be shattered and transcended. I hope you feel at home among this community, and I hope you know, deep down, that voluntary suffering and sacrifice are the only true ways forward in life 🤘
I will never save scum or back up my save files. I hold myself accountable for my mistakes and accept the consequences for them, proudly. I'll always be the guy who dives head-first into everything the most difficult way possible, and assesses his own worth not just by that decision, but by the integrity of his honor when nobody's watching. We're only as great as our greatest self-imposed challenges; Desire for comfort breeds weakness.

Word of the Day: Glory - High renown or honor won by notable achievements. Health Cookie #22: What does my channel name mean, Discipline Before Dishonor? It takes a firm decision to wake up in the morning and choose to take a cold shower. I don't always take that shower, nor do I always commit to intermittent fasting every day. Most days I do, but sometimes I need to give myself a little pep-talk, my channel name is that pep-talk. Whenever I'm standing outside the shower, hesitant to embrace winter's chill, I always push myself over the edge with this mantra, by speaking the words "Discipline Before Dishonor": I would rather exhibit discipline and will power in this moment, and do the difficult thing right now, than avoid doing it, and thereby dishonor not only myself but also my true potential, and the magnitude of service that I can be of to both the world and to my family today. Cold showers, fasting, exercise, healthy eating, choosing abstinence when you'd rather smoke weed or masturbate every day, these decisions optimize your capacities, and amplify the influence you can have on the world around you - whether your intentions are good or bad. It just takes that "One Second Decision" as David Goggins would say, wherein I ask myself, plainly and clearly: Am I worthy, or unworthy? Will I confront my desire for comfort to bring forth my true potential and accomplish more for the world, or will I resign myself to comfort-seeking, betraying not only myself but also everything I could do for - or to - the world today? Tell you one thing: On the days where I record an episode, it always starts with a cold shower. Not just because it's healthy, but because it actually spikes my reflexes and cognition, rouses me from post-sleep stupor, and stimulates improved decision making within me. I'm not just taking a cold shower, I'm tapping into a source of inner power and shattering the plateau of my limitations for the day. Whenever you're standing outside of that freezing shower, hesitant to march in there, just remember: It is better to have discipline and do the difficult thing than it is to dishonor yourself every day, because that decision is exactly where the power to manipulate the world around you comes from. Your manipulations can be for the purpose of good, or evil. I'm not here to judge your morality, do whatever you want. What I will judge is your strength of will. Discipline Before Dishonor is my mantra and maybe it can become yours, too. Odin is watching, so don't disappoint Him; You can only curry His favor if you prove yourself worthy of receiving it in the first place. Whether your intentions are good or evil, wasted potential is always a crime against both yourself and God above. So never waste an opportunity to confront your weakness and cultivate your strength inside.
Word of the Day: Reprieve - The suspension or cancellation of someone's punishment or pain. Health Cookie #21: Prayer is a very divisive topic. Some believe prayer is a means by which you can magnify your thoughts and intentions toward an outcome, and gradually conjure that outcome over time via manifestation. Others believe prayer is a literal means of communication with an omnipotent universal consciousness that listens to you, connects with you and provides for you whenever you ask it sincerely and humbly for guidance, assistance and direction. Neuroscientist Andrew Huberman once correlated the act of exercise to that of prayer; If you want to build muscle then you exercise, and over time, the act of exercising gradually builds your muscles. Similarly, if you want to build better life circumstances for yourself then you pray, and over time, that act of prayer gradually reinforces your direction and propels you toward creating that better life for yourself. Whether or not that better life is an outcome of your own conscious design, or a blessing from God, that is all up for healthy discussion. What is not debatable and cannot be refuted is the power of focused thinking patterns, which serve as wind in the sails of your life, providing propulsion toward your acquisition of the circumstances you really want. You are capable of being the architect and arbiter of your own destiny, capable of raising yourself out of perdition, every successful individual knows this to be true. You can choose to believe, cynically, that the world is nothing more than a barless prison within which we are all trapped with no possibility of recourse nor redemption. You can choose to believe, nihilistically, that there is no magic, no meaning, no possibility for underdogs to rise above their current station, and that luck is the only means through which the downtrodden can ever conquer the adversities thrust upon them. But if you harbor those beliefs, then you will always feel imprisoned by destiny, and trapped in worldly circumstances that seem irredeemable and inevitably beyond your control. So why on Earth would you resign yourself to such beliefs? If you never take the reins, because you don't believe you have the power to do so, then you'll always just go wherever the carriage takes you, good or bad. You need to take control, in order to have it. There are only two real possibilities here: Either your mind is extraordinarily powerful, and you can conjure realities and outcomes just by focusing hard on what you want, or, God exists, and he helps those who consistently ask for help and confide in Him. The only certainty resting beyond the shadow of a doubt is that prayer and meditation - the act of focused thought - definitely works. It's not a hotline, you may pray for something today and only see it manifest itself in a few days, weeks, maybe even a few months or years from now. But your muscles don't instantly appear after you exercise, either - they take time to form, it takes effort and consistence for the act of exercising to manifest into the healthier body you truly want to have, and the same can be said about the ability of prayer to metamorphose your perception and your lot in life - it takes time, effort and consistence. Believe to receive, right? If you believe in nothing special then you'll never receive anything special, and this principle constitutes the inevitable downfall of those with poor belief systems. Believing there is nothing special means you will aspire toward - and subsequently achieve - nothing special. But if you believe you can achieve, then you inevitably will, and time will be the only obstacle between you and your wildest dreams.

Bro how'd I even reach that pitch 😂 My mic couldn't even handle it
Word of the Day: Ostensible - Something appearing to be or stated to be true, that may not actually be true. Some examples of ostensible statements are: "Eggs/red meat are bad for you" or "Camel cigarettes are healthy because more doctors smoke Camels than any other brand of cigarette". If something is ostensible, it's basically a lie. Health Cookie #20: Redemption isn't just a word, it's an ambition, an aspiration, a lifestyle for some people. Robert Browning once said "A man's reach should exceed his grasp", and that quote is very fitting when talking about redemption; In order to achieve it, the lengths that you're willing to go to, should exceed what you even believe is possible for you to accomplish. Don't just try to help one person, try to help the entire world in some meaningful way. Small acts of kindness prove contrition, indeed, and their value cannot be overstated. But redemption isn't just holding a door for somebody and then feeling better for the rest of your life, rather it is holding the door for *everybody*, every time you get an opportunity. It is wanting to help as many people as possible, wanting to alter as many misdirected fates as possible, wanting to improve the health and wellness of as many people as possible. Sometimes redemption takes different forms too, sometimes it's waking up to a freezing cold shower rather than waking up to a bong load or cigarette. Sometimes it's choosing to drink tea instead of grabbing another beer or mixing another drink. Why do we take cold showers and try to abuse substances less? Because how we treat our own bodies, and our own minds, often reflects how we treat other people. Treat yourself with apathy and disregard, and you may feel inclined to treat others with apathy and disregard. But care about yourself, understand your past, your weaknesses borne from it, and regard both yourself and your fate as matters of importance, and you'll be likely to regard others with that same concerned mentality.
Word of the Day: Summit - The highest point of a hill or mountain; The pinnacle of achievement, the highest attainable level of accomplishment. Health Cookie #18: In the previous Health Cookie, we talked about Dopamine, the neurotransmitter and hormone. I'd like to elaborate on Dopamine, and give you more information about it. Andrew Huberman said Dopamine is a "non-infinite yet renewable resource", which means you'll always make more, but it's easy to fully deplete your dopamine reserves through overstimulation; And whenever you fully deplete your reserves, after a lot of effort, accomplishment, high points and high moods or excessive indulgence in pleasures, you then suffer a temporary state of depression, like a rubber-band snapping back after being stretched, a recoil effect to balance the scales. How do you avoid this dopamine crash and ensure a stable baseline level of dopamine all the time? Simple: Downplay and reduce the significance of your achievements. Whenever you take a cold shower in the morning, don't think "Wow I'm amazing, I just accomplished something." Instead, just tell yourself that you've fulfilled a regular duty. All you've done is meet the standard of baseline competence that you demand of yourself, and nothing more. That might seem counter-intuitive, but honestly, this is what you have to do to ensure that you're always ready to keep accomplishing things. Even if you do reach a new plateau or exceed expectations in some way, you don't want to allow yourself to feel too strongly that you have, otherwise you'll disservice your capacity for continued effort. If you've just reached the top, then why would you even keep climbing? Thus there is no top, there is no summit; Your life is the practice of climbing the mountain of your mind in perpetuity and with humility, that is the very essence of what it means to be Promethean. The mountain never ends, thus your struggle to climb never ends, and you'll never be truly special until you've spent your entire life climbing and subsequently died climbing, died dreaming of the continued heights that you were certain to keep reaching if you had the gift of more time. The irony is, when you view life this way and you never let your achievements go to your head, then you never get depressed or become unmotivated, because your dopamine never has that rubber-band recoiling effect. In a sense you forgo the concept of motivation entirely and exchange it for discipline, which is significantly more reliable. Motivation asks "What is my reason to try today? Should I even try?" but discipline asks "Do I even need to feel motivated, just to meet the standard of doing what's expected of me? No, I don't. I will do my duty whether I feel like doing it or not." Funny thing is, this mentality of perpetual humility and the ceaseless downplaying of the significance of your achievements actually makes you more prone to continued achievement, rather than less prone toward it. Excessive indulgence in feelings of self-gratification is just yet another addiction that erodes the foundations of your constitution as an individual, and robs you of your potential.
I bought this game a long time ago.. it wasn't no cougars last time I played but it's been a long time. I only had wolves, timber wolves and bears 2 deal with
Next time, cougar revenge!
Word of the Day: Paradox - A statement that seems false at first glance, but upon investigation, may actually be true. For example, pharmaceutical companies want people to be sick; While seeming false at first, and contradictory, upon further investigation you realize that they profit and grow from a prevalence of pestilence and poor health, thus if everybody was healthy tomorrow, they would suddenly go out of business. Harmful side-effects of drugs are actually a positive outcome for companies that manufacture drugs, because then they can create and sell even more drugs to treat those side-effects, making more money, which enables further growth for their technologies and advancement for their industry. It seems contradictory to assume that Healthcare companies would prefer for people to be sick, but there it is, concrete proof contained in corporate reasoning. That is a paradox. Most of the drugs that a cancer patient takes are drugs meant to combat the side-effects of chemo therapy. Pharmaceutical companies love this, cancer patients are cash-cows for them. Doctors aren't taught about the carnivore diet, intermittent fasting nor autophagy, and as a result, those viable avenues of cancer treatment are kept from patients, just so drugs can be sold to them instead, even though recent clinical trial data supports the claim that most cancers can be eradicated through extreme elimination diets and fasting practices. Another definition of a paradox is something that, in its design, is intrinsically contradictory toward its intended or stated purpose; For example, "correctional facilities" are paradoxical, because they claim to correct flawed human behavioral patterns, while simultaneously tormenting inmates' psychologically through persistent fear, anger, and social isolation, thereby worsening their psychological constitution, and thus increasing their behavioral and emotional volatility as well as their potential of recidivism upon release. Correctional facilities are only "correctional" by moniker, but upon keen observation you realize that the actual facilities are anything but correctional, and they contribute to increases in crime rates throughout society through the worsening of the psychological status of everybody that is processed by them. This is why prisons are always overflowing, and crime rates are never down. In Denmark recidivism rates are the lowest in the world, and it's because the focus is on rehabilitation of offenders rather than the abject psychological torture of them. Another example of this definition of paradox is the "Department of Defense" in the United States. If they specialize in creating weapons and tactics of war, then shouldn't it be called the Department of Offense rather than Defense? It's a paradox. Health Cookie #17: Dopamine is a neurotransmitter and hormone. It is released upon accomplishment, to make you feel good about yourself. But according to neuroscientist Andrew Huberman, the most successful people are those who don't feel accomplished upon completing a goal, but rather, those who feel accomplished upon making efforts toward the achievement of that goal. A study was done on children. The children enjoyed drawing and coloring, and they did it regularly. They began to receive little rewards for drawing, like gold stars, candy, shit like that. But eventually the rewards stopped coming, and as a result of that, the children lost interest and stopped drawing entirely; Even though, before the rewards ever started happening, they all enjoyed drawing intrinsically, and required no motivating factor to compel them toward doing it. The thought of no longer being rewarded for it actually ruined their baseline default enjoyment of it, and robbed them of a hobby. This indicates that people actually lose the motivation to work on something, if they care more about the reward than the process of earning it. Don't place as much value on the result, as you place on the work. Focus on the journey not the destination, etc. Also, it's wise to temper yourself upon achievements instead of letting yourself feel too proud of them, because whenever you have a dopamine release there's always a resultant crash which makes you feel sadder and unmotivated afterwards. The problem with touching the clouds is that you fall back down to Earth afterwards; But if you regulate and partially restrain your dopamine releases with conscious intention, then the resultant crash won't be nearly as severe. You could apply this strategy to video game progression, academic achievements, creative endeavors, relationship milestones, etc. Be proud, but only a little proud. Don't go overboard, or else you'll overstimulate your dopamine and suffer a resultant crash, making it harder to stay consistent. You see this in couples all the time: "Our wedding was so magical and now the magic is gone", or "We were so happy when our son was born, and now we're drifting apart". Couples sometimes attach more value to the milestones of their relationship than to the actual relationship itself, which eventually devalues the relationship in their minds. Dopamine is dangerous if you don't apply accurate thought toward controlling it. If you need evidence, then simply peer inside the mind of any drug addict, porn addict, alcoholic, gambler, obese individual, or any other person who's vices outweigh and overpower their virtues with regular consistency, to the detriment of not only themselves but also their families. Discipline before dishonor, my friends. It's not just a name, it's a lifestyle.
Revolver shell casings are used to make a certain fishing lure. So not a bug.
They are used to make lures which have the exact same stats as Acorn lures, and Wire lures are even better. You're not supposed to be able to find shell casings on interloper, that's why they didn't have an image when looted in the container, and were invisible while looting them. On interloper you're intended to use Acorns to get lures of equal effectiveness to the Casing lures. Definitely a bug, just like how I'm finding Firearm Cleaning Kits in a world without firearms.
@DisciplineBeforeDishonor ahh makes sense
Thanks for the stream!
Word of the Day: Indefatigable - Used to describe a person who is highly energetic and difficult to exhaust, synonymous with tenacious and persevering. Health Cookie #16: Depopulation is a real thing, and you need to respect it. I once looked at the difference between two different Acetaminophen brands, one was cheaper than the other; The cheaper brand had one extra ingredient that presumably didn't need to be in it, given that the more expensive Acetaminophen brand lacked it. So why the extra chemical? One reason only: To induce greater biological damage in the person who consumed it. Society punishes the poorest people by making the cheapest foods and drugs the most dangerous to their bill of health. The idea is, if poor people buy the cheapest processed goods, then their mental and physical health will become worse at an accelerated rate, thus they will have an increased likelihood of becoming fodder for the pharmaceutical and judicial industries. That's why the cheapest bag of chips has 10 more chemicals than the most expensive bag of chips, it's because society punishes budget spending as well as pleasure-seeking tendencies in people, and focuses all of its depopulative efforts there. In the same way that cheaper processed foods and pharmaceuticals can further induce increased pharmaceutical dependence in a person, prisons are designed to induce greater crime rates in society. Think about it: We psychologically torment inmates, stimulating them with as much fear, anger, resentment and social isolation as possible, to gradually worsen their psychological status and increase the likelihood of their recidivism, because their return-business keeps the policing, judicial and prison industries afloat. As more new criminals come and go, and as more criminals return over and over again, the technologies of those aforementioned three industries can perpetually improve; The pharmaceutical industry, in the same way, does not want to make you truly healthy, because their industry and technologies can only improve in perpetuity if as many people as possible remain sick and keep coming back. As you might guess, most criminals are poor, having sabotaged mental health which stems typically from poverty, and the awful dietary habits associated with it. It's just the way our society works. Why does our society work this way? Well, english economist Thomas Robert Malthus had a theory that, when unconstrained, a population tends to grow too quickly to sustain itself. This is why our world governments and the United Nations have decided upon the intentional depopulation of the masses, and it's why they try to induce sterility and infertility in as many people as possible through pharmaceuticals and processed food; The rate of people dying, to their perspective, absolutely must exceed the rate of people being born. I don't agree with this societal modus operandi either, morally speaking, but don't shoot the messenger, I'm just articulating the objective reality of our civilization. Human society is defined by the simultaneous construction of infrastructure, advancement of industry, development of technology and depopulation of humanity via the circulation of currency. That's simply what our society is, and thus the definition of "rebellion" within our civilization is merely to do whatever it takes to make yourself both healthier and stronger, and also to save your loved ones from the apathetic dietary self-destruction and foolhardy pharmaceutical dependence that the government would much prefer that they opt for every day.
Great stream today, on a killing spree in this one 😂
Word of the Day: Mercy - Compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one's power to punish or harm. Health Cookie #15: Tobacco and Nicotine can be a complex topic. On the one hand, Cigarettes and Cigars are objectively bad for people, as smoke causes damage to the body and brain. But on the other hand, neuroscientists have proven that Nicotine has a neuro-protective effect on the brain, improving plasticity, cognition, learning, memory, and overall brain function. But Nicotine itself is also extraordinarily addictive, which is going to reduce your neurological integrity to some degree in how it manipulates your emotional mapping and dopamine systems, and compels you toward a chemical dependence of it. Truth is there are many ways of improving neuroplasticity and boosting your cognition, memory, learning and overall brain function; Cold Showers, Fasting, Meditation and Exercise come to mind, only they come without the added caveat of inducing a chemical need within you that can negatively impact how you treat people whenever you're going through withdrawals. Not only does Nicotine make you withdrawal when you go without it for a prolonged period of time, which adversely effects your social interactions and may make you less kind toward family and friends at times, it also has a negative impact on the Autonomic Nervous System, which is responsible for involuntary biological functions such as Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, Respiration, Digestion, and Sexual Arousal. That is to say, if you go without Nicotine for a while, and you're craving it, then your heart rate becomes irregular, your blood pressure destabilizes, your digestion becomes inefficient resulting in excessive gas, burping and softer stools, and you'll be less intimate with your partner, as well as more emotionally irritable and more inclined to be harsh or rude towards other people even if you ought not be - even if you don't want to be. As a result of this, most people view the decision to quit smoking as a nigh insurmountable task, because it would effect too many various aspects of their personal and professional lives if they merely attempted it - and they might fail the attempt, making it all for naught in the end. But this is why Nicotine, in and of itself, is a horrible thing for you: Not only can you can get whatever Nicotine gives you by other, frankly healthier means, but once you're Nicotine's prisoner, it's extraordinarily difficult to break out of that perdition. In a previous Health Cookie we covered BDNF, Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (Health Cookie #2). BDNF is much in the same vein as Nicotine regarding Neuroplasticity and mental improvement, so there's really no upside to using Nicotine instead of using a Cold Shower, Intermittent Fasting, Meditation or Exercise to achieve the same result of acquiring greater neurological capability. You're simply shooting yourself in the foot by smoking instead, and reducing your capabilities in life. I say this as somebody who has struggled with cigarette use since my teen years. I often smoke for 3-4 months of every year, then I have to endure multiple pain-staking attempts to quit, and it's not painful for just me but also for my wife, too. The difficult part for me is that my mom is apathetic about smoking, and always has cartons upon cartons of cheap smokes in the house that I'm permitted to take, so I have unlimited access, and although I can temper myself and discipline myself for a significant chunk of every year, I always seem to break eventually. I'd much rather have never entered this Nicotine-centric prison in the first place, and I pray for the day that I find the strength to just stop for good and never go back. When I do smoke, I keep my numbers low, usually only having an average of 3 cigarettes per day, depending on the day, but that's the best I can do for myself and my health sometimes. The best number is absolute zero, where cigarettes-per-day are concerned. I can quit weed within one week, cease my desire of it and feel better for it in extremely short order; But quitting cigarettes literally requires months of physiological, gastrointestinal and psychological upset, even when you only smoke an average of 3 per day. Yet despite everything it takes away from me, I always eventually end up wanting to go back to smoking, once life has felt too arduous for too long of a stretch. If there's one piece of advice that I need young readers to take from this, here it is: Never smoke, because your life remains much easier if you never do, and once you do smoke, it's forever; You will struggle in perpetuity with the desire to continue doing it for the rest of your life, and even people who've quit cigarettes for 10+ years still daydream about how good it felt.
The arrow that missed was close enough that it would have hit it, if it had been a male moose...
Thanks for the stream.
Just finished the series, what a series bro! hopefully you redo in the near future <3
I bought this game in order to PLAY the sumbitch...NOT FUCKING REDESIGN the pile of shit!
Word of the Day: Armistice - An agreement made by opposing sides in a war to stop fighting for a certain time; A truce. Health Cookie #12: If you engage in intermittent fasting, especially if you do one meal per day, consider drinking a full glass of water that contains a lot of Himalayan Rock Salt (like a tablespoon) first thing in the morning. It gives you a buffer by providing you with several electrolytes that your body needs to thrive, such as Calcium, Potassium, and Zinc. Many "health experts" claim that the mineral content in Himalayan Rock Salt is negligible, but they are wrong, because since you're fasting all day, and you're not consuming processed foods which deplete your body's stores of minerals at a greatly accelerated rate, then the vitamins and minerals you DO consume will last a lot longer, and do a lot more for you. Himalayan Rock Salt won't make a health difference for somebody who wakes up to something shitty like Oatmeal or Pancakes, but if all you eat is a natural breakfast rich in protein and fat, or if you don't eat at all, then those minerals obtained from a tablespoon of Himalayan Rock Salt will definitely benefit the rest of your day in terms of your alacrity and vivacity. Andrew Huberman's morning routine - praised by a great many people and touted as effective among them all - consists of waking up, consuming a glass of water containing a tablespoon of Himalayan Rock Salt, then stepping outside for 10 minutes to expose yourself to the outdoors, before coming in, having a cold shower, and then having a coffee to wrap it all up. You not only get a surge of BDNF from the cold shower and coffee since they stimulate hormesis in your body, but you also replenish depleted minerals and fully rouse your mind from the burdensome drowsiness associated with post-sleep stupor.
Sorry I missed the live, glad you are having fun!
Word of the Day: Indemnity - Exemption from any consequences or culpability in regard to ones own actions. Health Cookie #11: Fruit, bread, pasta and rice really aren't as healthy as everyone mistakenly believes them to be. In fact, they're known in scientific circles to be of great detriment to your biology, whether regarding physical or mental aspects of it. Most fruit is extremely high in carbohydrates or sugar, while most mainstream bread, rice and pasta in grocery stores is refined and processed into oblivion. Those foods would still be unhealthy even if they weren't processed, but the processing makes them even worse. Since over 90% of North Americans are already Insulin Resistant, the last thing they should be snacking on is fruit, bread, pasta or rice. Historically, fruit served a valuable purpose: We would have seasonal access to fruit and binge on it, gaining a lot of weight, which would tide us over through harsh winters. But now we have an obesity epidemic because there are no more harsh winters; Everybody's too well fed, far too often. Insulin is a hormone that your body releases whenever you ingest carbs or sugar, and its role is to help your liver to convert those carbs and sugars into fat, to be stored for later use; The problem is, in order to burn the fat that you've stored, you need to engage in intermittent fasting and/or exercise. While some people do exercise, far too few people engage in the practice of intermittent fasting, and this is why you see fat people who can exercise all they want, yet never lose a pound. It's not because of their genetics, it's only because they're not denying themselves of indulgence often enough, and are likely eating too much refined carbs like bread, pasta or rice, as well as sugar-rich foods like fruit amid the mistaken belief that they're helping their biological wellness to improve by doing so. Your body has two states: Anabolic, and Catabolic. When your body is Anabolic, it is storing things for later; You become anabolic after you eat. When your body is catabolic, it is consuming the fuel that it has already stored; When you fast and go without eating, you become catabolic. People eat too many times a day, and they often eat fruit, bread, pasta or rice, which locks their bodies into the Anabolic state most of the time, and because of that, they never enter the catabolic state, as the two are mutually exclusive bodily states, so they keep storing more and more fat in perpetuity. But once their cells no longer have any more room to store any more fat, the Insulin just decides to dump its payload around the intended delivery site instead, resulting in body fat build-up. If you are obese and you want to slim down, then do regular fasting, exercise, and cut fruit, bread, pasta and rice from your diet, choosing instead to primarily eat meat and eggs, and only eat once per day for four days per week. As long as you get enough protein your muscles won't deteriorate, and as long as you significantly reduce your consumption of carbs and sugar, then your body will consume stored fat to sustain itself rather than constantly adding to the stores of fat.
Damn I missed you by 15 minutes! Oh well, all day tomorrow I'll be watching!
Just got a Steam notification that The long dark is ready to play 😳
Word of the Day: Vivacity - The quality of being attractively lively and animated; Energetic and enthusiastic. Health Cookie #10: Many people are deficient in Vitamin B12, a nutrient that improves nerve and blood health, while also producing more DNA, which is the genetic material that you use to both build and repair your body and brain. All meat is a great source of Vitamin B12, in fact, just two eggs can provide you with 50% of your body's weekly requirement to maintain good health. This is why Vegans generally end up looking like the Crypt Keeper, it's because they're always deficient in B12, and a lot of people eat highly processed foods which actually deplete the reserves of Vitamin B12 in their body. That's one of the big dangers of eating processed food; Chemically comprised processed foods have anti-nutrient qualities, requiring your body to consume its vitamins and minerals just to be digested properly. Enriched wheat definitely has this effect, so all types of North American bread and pasta aren't safe, and do count as processed food in this regard. Eating just two eggs twice a week and limiting your processed food intake can ensure that you never want for this nutrient again, nor suffer any diseases which are borne from a lack of it. Fish and seafood are the richest meats in regards to B12 content; But try to avoid predatory fish such as Tuna, Shark, Swordfish or Marlin, etc, because in being predatory, they consume other fish, which results in higher levels of mercury being contained within their meat. Best to have something like Salmon, Sardines, Mackerel, or other non-predatory fish. If you just eat meat or eggs every day, then B12 deficiency will never be an issue for you.
So in this game you get Cabin fever inside caves. But in Icarus you get cave sickness 3 seconds after looking inside a cave.
You get cabin fever inside certain caves, particularly ones that count as indoor locations; If you had to go through a loading screen to enter the cave, then it'll count as an indoor location regarding the accumulation of Cabin Fever
casual 2 rad screamers who scream before they sea or hear you and it has to be 2 so there is no way to kill one without triggering the other yah wtf are the nofunpimps thinking with that bs

Ahoj Tome. "Keep your head on a swivel eh? No complacency!"- Can Zuzana translate me this to Czech language?
I'll ask her to tomorrow!
jawoodle's catchphrase
You can spear the bees!!!!!!
Word of the Day: Perdition - Hell; A place of eternal torment, typically reserved for those who did not feel repentance toward their sinful acts during their lives. Health Cookie #9: Most seed oils like Canola, Sunflower, Rapeseed and Soybean are toxic for your body and mind, especially when heated to high temperatures. Good substitutes are Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Avocado Oil, Coconut Oil, and Butter. In particular, those three aforementioned oils are very stable at high temperatures, whereas the prior four seed oils will emit toxic compounds upon reaching higher temperatures during cooking. Moreover, the processing methods of Canola, Sunflower, Rapeseed and Soybean oil are horrendous, while Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Avocado Oil, Coconut Oil and Butter are very minimally processed, and won't impair your physiology nearly as much. Think about it: You can just squeeze the oil out of an Olive. But you can't just squeeze the oil out of a Sunflower or a Rapeseed, those require far more - sometimes chemical - methods of oil extraction.
Thanks for the stream!
12 hour stream like some kind of god. Almost two 12 hour streams back to back. You are a god!
I'm starting here since it's the first playlist you made for TLD
I love that series, I edited the shit out of it! The editing gets better around episode 4, because I turned off the in-game music and started editing in full songs from the soundtrack. So all the times when songs randomly cut off between edits for the first 3 episodes, it doesn't happen after those 3
Word of the Day: Perplexed - Baffled, confused or puzzled. Health Cookie #8: Vitamin D is a very important resource for the body, it boosts immune strength, reduces inflammation, and helps the body to absorb and retain calcium and phosphorous, contributing to improved bone density. Vitamin D can be absorbed from sunlight, or you could buy and consume tablespoons of Cod Liver Oil, which is rich in both Vitamin D and Omega 3; This is extraordinarily helpful to you, because Omega 3 improves brain function and cardiovascular health. You owe it to yourself to eat a couple tablespoons of Cod Liver Oil once a week, you'll end up feeling significantly better as a result of doing it.
Word of the Day: Reticent - The state of preferring to withhold ones thoughts or feelings and keep them private. Health Cookie #7: The carnivore diet is a great way to improve your mental and physical health. Countless chronic diseases and mental illnesses are exacerbated or even entirely caused by external substances being introduced to the body, in various forms, such as drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, processed food, fluoride, pesticides found on crops, enriched wheat and refined carbs, etc. Elimination diets such as the carnivore diet or the ketogenic diet essentially ensure that you get whatever nutrition you need to live, without simultaneously incurring unnecessary damages from unnecessary sources. Various public figures have come out to praise their experiences with the carnivore diet and speak for its ability to cure autoimmune disorders and mental illnesses, like allergies, depression, anxiety, arthritis, etc. Your body isn't starved for essential vitamins or minerals when you only eat meat; In fact, inversely, your body has an easier time regulating its vitamin and mineral levels while on the carnivore diet, because you typically deplete those stores within your body during the digestion of more complex foods such as vegetables, fruits, grains, pasta, bread, processed food, etc. Eliminating those undesirable foods from your diet will make it so you don't have to consume the vitamins and minerals within your body just for the sake of digesting those undesirable foods. Truth be told, the carnivore diet is just the extreme end of doing an elimination diet for health benefits. You could do low-carb keto, and eliminate all processed foods from your diet, and still see your health trajectory improve, even with the occasional slice of bread or bowl of pasta, or cigarette, or alcoholic drink (Speaking of Alcohol and Cigarettes, I cover those in Health Cookies #14 and #15). But ideally, to maximize your health gains over a period of time, you'll do the carnivore diet and regular intermittent fasting with frequent cold showers. If you have horrible autoimmune or mental problems, then combining those three habits has a pretty good chance of improving - if not outright curing - your conditions.
Word of the Day: Perseverance - Steadfast dedication to accomplishing things. Health Cookie #6: Meditation is a versatile hobby. Not only does it boost your mood, stabilize your blood pressure and engage the parasympathetic nervous system, but it also requires no equipment to perform and you can sit yourself nearly anywhere to do it. You can use it to either escape moments of stress or to amplify moments of serenity - or even both simultaneously. Physiologically and neurologically, meditation - when done correctly - can provide you with considerable boons. Essentially all you have to do is sit either cross legged on the ground or with good posture on a chair, keep your back straight but not stiff, relax your whole body and close your eyes, then breathe in deeply through your nose and out through your mouth over and over again. Prolonging the exhale for as long as possible to maximize the engagement of the parasympathetic nervous system, while slow and lengthened inhales will also minimize the activation of your sympathetic nervous system, causing maximum self-sedation and soothing. Meditation has a great many psychological benefits too; Over the long term you will reap enhanced focus and cognition, greater impulse control, and trauma therapy from consistent proper meditation. Even overcoming addiction is a possibility with the power of meditation, because you'll look at your addictive tendencies and the traumas that drive you toward them much differently, if you study both under the microscopic lens of a willfully introspective meditation. While some advocate for an absence of thought while meditating, evading all thoughts in entirety, I practice an approach where once I've entered the "Meditative" state of mind I intentionally contemplate the things that bother me, and sort of "look in the eye" all of the uncomfortable emotions that those contemplations cause. I find that the act of looking at your troubles and studying your emotions under the lens of a meditation can have long-lasting improvements on the severity of negative emotions in your daily life. When you accept something, it somehow begins hurting less; Focused meditation is an expediated method of mitigating the introspective conflicts you feel towards bad things or situations in your life, and ushering in greater internalized acceptance for yourself toward those bad things or situations. The end result is that whenever you think of such bad things or situations outside of the meditative state, the emotional response you feel will be reduced. It's kind of like the psychological parallel of rubbing a papercut that you just got, irritating it intentionally to maximize how much it hurts right now, thus making the persistent pain it causes you later seem lesser and more tolerable by comparison. If you study Wim Hoff's breathing technique, where you perform double-inhales followed by a singular exhale, you'll stumble upon a technique for extraordinary power. The man eliminated endotoxins from his bloodstream after being injected with them, just by meditating them away, in a laboratory setting. He's shattered world records that seemed impossible before he proved them to be possible. His technique is definitely worth looking into.
The game showed through visual effects and audio sounds the signs of the danger ahead, maybe you should reconsider an adaption of your own risk managment.
I've devised new strategies and I'm going to try again today with those new strategies in mind
Died of cougar, AGAIN?! Then again, cougars are supposed to be very dangerous. Animals irl anyways can sense much farther than they do in games.
Thanks for the stream, sorry it ended the way it did!
Why didn't you just get back in the car 😂
... Fair point lol
Word of the Day: Penance - Voluntary self-punishment or the dignified donning of afflictions and misfortune in the name of atonement and repentance for past wrongdoings. Health Cookie #5: HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training, a type of training in which you maximize periods of exertion while minimizing periods of rest. The goal is to spike your heart rate as much as possible and thus clean up your cardiovascular machinery significantly, while also getting a huge surge of BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor, described in Health Cookie #2). The health benefits of this cannot be overstated, because you're rigorously engaging your entire body and straining the whole thing as much as you possibly can. The hormetic effects (also mentioned in Health Cookie #2) caused by this are numerous, and both your biological and neurological wellbeing will improve significantly as a result of doing it. You might, for example, practice HIIT by having 15 minute periods of extraordinary effort and exertion followed by 3 minute periods of rest, for an hour, twice a week. Repeatedly getting your heart rate very high then letting it come back down again, four consecutive times, with various exercises meant to push your cardio and muscles to their absolute limit. When I took Karate, this was how Sensei Tirrell trained us. We'd have two cycles of 15 minutes of training followed by 3 minutes of rest, performing various high-intensity exercises, then the remainder of the class would be dedicated to practicing technique application. In Jiu Jitsu we would often somersault around the mats repeatedly, 3 minutes of that followed by 1 minute of rest, then we'd crawl-sprint across the floor and back, 3 minutes of that followed by 1 minute of rest. In Muay Thai we'd be shadowboxing or hitting the bag, throwing blows in drills, responding to melee combo calls in sequence, and we'd be having long periods of exertion followed by brief periods of rest and respite. If you drink coffee, do HIIT and have a cold shower, all in one day, then the biological benefit you subsequently reap in regards to your physical health and neurological wellness will be staggering and nigh immeasurable.
Lol
Thanks for the stream!
"oh yeah she enjoy every single trust"that's wild💀☠️

Word of the Day: Alacrity - Excited and ecstatic enthusiasm or readiness. Health Cookie #4: Exercise is a crucial part of living a better life. If you were to perform any type of physical training, devotedly, and train really hard for just two years, then the benefits of those two years would span across the entirety of your next two decades. You could take two runs per week, or lift weights twice per week, or take a martial arts class twice per week, and after a couple years of that, you will have become an entirely different person for the rest of your life - a more competent, capable and dependable person. Exercise produces a surge of BDNF for your brain as well, which we covered previously in Health Cookie #2, with the intensity of the exercise determining the amount of BDNF granted to you. This means that there is refined scientific data to support the fact that exercise can help combat mental health ailments and gradually cure mental disorders like depression and anxiety, just like a cold shower can. We will cover HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) in Health Cookie #5. After years of training, it not only becomes very hard to lose the strength you've gained, but it also becomes significantly easier to maintain and grow it; In my personal case, I don't need to do a complex weight-training regimen to target different muscle groups, because I took three different martial arts simultaneously over a few years, and the variety of techniques I learned during that time have become a means for me to give my body an accurate tune-up whenever I need to, without any exercise equipment. I can perform upper blocks to target my bicepts, triceps and even the laterals in my back. I can shadowbox to rapidly accelerate my heart rate and tire my whole body out while engaging in HIIT. Push ups and sit-ups are ol' reliable, of course. But I prefer half sit ups, because they don't irritate my back on the hard floor. I can perform something ridiculous like 30 different karate stretches, to serve as a buffer against potential injury and improve flexibility/relieve joint irritation throughout my body. Regular housework and heavy lifting is never an issue for me, because I became so primed against injury as a result of my mere few years spent training as a teenager. The gains I made years ago in terms of focus and mental framework as well as dexterity and strength all still remain with me today, despite the fact that I took those three martial arts a decade and a half ago, and despite the fact that it was only for a few years. If you want to truly change your entire life, then even just ten minutes of intense training twice a week can accomplish that, even sprinting to the nearest Stop Sign and back is a tremendous boon to your health and longevity; But as with many things, the effort you sow determines the benefits you reap. If you train even harder, take cold showers even more, fast even longer, eliminate even more processed foods from your diet, etc, then you will accelerate the rate at which you become increasingly powerful. Our bodies are genuinely designed to adapt positively after every incurrence of a stressful occurrence. If you fight really hard this year to improve your health and make all the right choices, then just think of how that decision could positively influence and transform your next ten, twenty, or even thirty years of life. Speaking from personal experience, I can promise you this: It only takes six months of making just some of the right choices, to nearly undo all the damages you've incurred after six years of making all the wrong choices.
Word of the day: Discipline - An activity or experience which provides mental or physical training; A personal code of dignified conduct, wherein one conditions oneself to live in a controlled and self-regulated way. Health Cookie #3: Intermittent fasting is extending the time between meals for as long as possible. The benefits of fasting vary greatly, ranging from improved blood pressure, cardiovascular health and stamina, to boosted rates of biological repair for damaged tissues and organs. There have even been testimonies of people allegedly curing mental health ailments or devouring cancers within their bodies by fasting for multiple days at a time, several times per month while engaging in elimination diets, such as the carnivore diet for example (Covered in Health Cookie #7). One could and often should combine intermittent fasting with the carnivore diet, exercise and cold showers for a substantially healthier lifestyle and a remarkably stronger body and mind. One could spend six months reversing six years worth of damage, this way; More over, one wanting to go the extra mile for themselves and their health would research Autophagy to get the most out of their fasting health benefits, but here's the summary: Autophagy is when you go over 24 hours without food, and your body starts consuming and recycling its unwanted cells to repurpose them. This has even been proven to consume and recycle the cells which comprise cancers within the body. On October 3, 2016, the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to Yoshinori Ohsumi, who discovered the biological mechanism of Autophagy in the human body. Intermittent fasting causes many hormetic effects, most notably providing a surge of BDNF to your brain. We cover Hormetic Effects and BDNF in Health Cookie #2.
