When you lube those pins I think you got to use the pink lube and NOTHING ELSE. Normal lube erodes the rubber and locks them up. At least that's what Toyota says about the other cars. Pink stuff is expensive.

Cant wait till you do a video in detail removing the dash to replace that little $12 plastic sprocket piece in the electronic steering that tends to break into pieces and rattles . There is another video on UA-cam but not as detailed . Your videos are very detailed and step by step ! So when your sons XB starts the steering rattle I will look forward seeing that video ! :)

@@dirtydavesgarage8251 haha nice. i'm trying to figure out something wijth my headlights. can you or him confirm that the parking lights/front blinkers are supposed to be on at the same time as the normal headlights (lowbeams)? like a running light i guess. i got one side on and one side off when my headlights are on. interestingly though the blinker/hazard function still works on the one that is off when headlights are on.

So I'm doing this on my 08 civic and I'm not sure I can get the bolts off without rounding them, if I was to cut them would the remaining bolt become stuck in the muffler bolt slot?

hard to say without seeing it, but you can always drill it out. You aren't trying to loosen the back ones are you? they are welded to the exhaust, you can only remove the spring bolts

Nice when you have a lift and a high enough garage. I don't. I would have to do that on the road as my house sits on a tiny artificial hill (for the septic tank underneath), hence my driveway goes down, not a good option for jack stands on a slope... SO I guess I opt for the "sucking out transmission fluid option with a sucker", of course I cannot put a new filter that way... So the question is whether I should do it to begin with...

There is nothing special about the A-II fluid. It is a synthetic ATF that has blue instead of red. The difference between the auto trak case and regular 4wd case is that the autotrak has a clutch pack in it. You must use ATF in it. Any good multi-vehicle ATF fluid will work fine. It does not have to be the blue stuff, is just absolutely has to be ATF, not gear oil.

I refilled my 05 yukon after 52 ounces leaked out. It holds 64 ounces total. I ran out of auto trak fluid after 26 ounces and made a mix of 50/50 merc3 atf to 10w30 motor oil for the rest. So far so good.
