    Excellent! Thank you. Can I get the same results with a foam roller? I'm using acrylic paint.

    Thank you! I’ve been researching to use SFO over paint for a top coat and this video was very informative. ❤

    Actually, when you paint with Mineral Paint you don't have to sand first. Don't believe me ?? Google it.

    If it’s a latex paint is it still ok to prime over it? I’m asking because certain pieces I get have an unknown top coat or idk what type of paint it is

    I’m going to do my cabinets and have 80s oak. Do I have to do a primer because of tannins? Or can I skip that and go straight to fusion paint?

    A year later and the bricks are still looking like new! Note that the dry brush technique is using WAY less paint than spraying or rolling a solid coat on and allows for the bricks to breathe which then eliminates the likelihood of the paint peeling!!

    Thanks for posting this. Can I ask what the top coat was? I was thinking of doing my bathroom countertops a darker colour - I read that Tough Coat Clear Glossy should not be used on medium to dark colours? What should be used to seal?

    How’s it holding up so far?

    • @prairiecollectiveco.7531
      @prairiecollectiveco.7531 3 роки тому

      So far it’s holding up as I expected! Only a couple spots have been scratched from excessive use, (like cutting on it without a cutting board 🤭). They are easily fixed though with a bit of tough coat on that spot to seal the edges of the paint that split. It is holding by some stains though like frozen blueberries from my shake, when they land on it, harder to scrub that stain off. Other than those two minor things they are doing great! Considering the cost of replacement I am happy if I can get 2-3 yrs out this finish before needing to redo or replace!

    Do you seal the brick after your done. If you do, what do you use or recommend? Would it work on stucco?

    • @prairiecollectiveco.7531
      @prairiecollectiveco.7531 4 роки тому

      I haven’t sealed it with anything at this point. I dry brushed the paint on so that means there isn’t a very thick layer and with brick being so porous I couldn’t scratch or pick it off if I tried. Plus I have complete faith in Fusion Mineral paint! Most durable paint out there!

      @@prairiecollectiveco.7531 Thin layers also means the brick can "breathe" as it's intended.

    • @prairiecollectiveco.7531
      @prairiecollectiveco.7531 4 роки тому

      vizluv yes! That makes total sense!

    • @prairiecollectiveco.7531
      @prairiecollectiveco.7531 3 роки тому

      No Sealing required as fusion has a built in top coat. Sealing brick solid is not recommended as it needs to breathe to reduce the likelihood of it peeling.

    Could you get me written instructions for this project as well as the paint and tools I need? I want to do this. My countertops are painted with almond color melamine paint. Hate them.
