It was certainly a major challenge. The team came back saying summit day was perhaps one of the hardest days of their lives. The challenge is increased through altitude symptoms and this is the biggest unknown when you start the climb. Fortunately, my symptoms were fairly minor and so, for me, I would rate it a 7 out of 10.

Hey! You can certainly do this in a day. Set off early and make your way directly to the Vanoise. The key is to plan the route there and back! Time will always depend on weather conditions, peak vs off peak season, and ski ability but as a general rule I have always been able to make it across the cable car (from either side) and get in a couple of runs before a lunch stop. Then I find I can do another few runs in the other resort before making my way back. As a general rule expect the lift queue on the way home to take longer than expected (maybe as long as 60 mins during peak season). Top advice here is to check interactive piste maps to show the busyness of them. Fortunately, as you’re coming from the Les arcs side there is a ski bus that runs after the lifts close. So you can literally take the last vanoise express from the La Plagne side and then simply take the bus back to arc 2000 if you really wanted to maximise your time.

Best of luck for the interview!!! Top advice is to be prepared. You should have a few practice interviews with friends, family, colleagues if you can. Use that time to practice verbalising your thoughts and arguments. Be prepped with a question or two at the end of the interview, perhaps something linked to the course but also a hobby (eg. I’ve heard Jesus has a society for X, I’m interested in that for Y, and was wondering if you can tell me more about it). Also helpful to research (stalk) your interviewer online, get a feeling for their work, their interests and how this might link to your own work - but don’t fake or bend your ideas to “please” them - they are experts in their field and know when you’ve just done a 30 min background scan as opposed to a genuine interest in their area. Stay calm, enjoy the process, celebrate getting to this stage - that’s a huge milestone in itself ✨

Hi! I applied at undergrad, but unfortunately didn’t make it past the interview stage. However, I had an excellent time at Nottingham uni and yes applied again for postgrad with success. There are about 4 cambridge students to 20 non cambridge in my cohort

Yes! I did apply at undergrad and received an interview. Unfortunately, at that stage, I wasn't as prepared for the interview or the course and didn't get an offer. However, my undergrad at Nottingham was simply the best foundation for adulthood, and so perhaps it was all for the best!

I purchased sprays from a camping shop in the UK. There’s a specific type for boots and for clothes, I’d recommend both!

It was particularly cold for that time of year! We summited end of August

The grade requirements are A*AA I dont think they make offers to students with grades below that threshold unless there are extenuating circumstances

Hey, I went to Nottingham for my undergraduate. But at Alevel I studied maths, further maths, physics, art. You don’t have to take this pathway though. Architecture is a beautiful course where you can apply with subjects ranging from English and history, to law and biology.

No worries, glad it was helpful! Yes for me, the kitchen was shared between 3 people.
