Unveiling A Stitched Treasure Chest: Creative Embroidery: Final Underwater Stitchy Make Along Reveal
This is the last video of our stitchy make-along. I've been thinking that I wanted to include a treasure chest for a while, and I realized that it would be a great way to end off this series.
Thank you for coming along on this underwater journey with me. I hope you've enjoyed this series.

This is the last month of our stitchy make-along. This video is about adding some finishing touches to the scroll. It combines four separate videos made for the month of December 2023, but I thought I'd like to finish this series a bit early this year. I do have one very special video planned for the very last one at the end of the month. Happy stitching

Last summer I went on a trip to the UK where I had a variety of interesting experiences. While I was there, I took several arty workshops. In this video I'll tell you a bit about the Islamic Geometric Design workshop that I took with Samira Mian at Open Ealing (near Ealing Broadway tube station). I also visited a Hindu temple in Wembley and did a bit of shopping in Southall.

This month we'll adding the final elements to our scrolls and working on things that we might find in and around the water that are made by humans. In this first video, we'll be adding some stitched flip flops, and some wet foot prints - which I drew onto the cloth rather than using stitches. Stunning art my dear❤❤❤❤❤❤
Awwww, thank you
There should be made a very short needle so stitchers like you can better use up the last short pieces of thread.
Ha ha, that’s funny.
Oh my word, so many beautiful and fun details and the colour scheme is to die for😊 what can be better than that? 😌 Exquisite, especially love the seahorse👏👏👏
Thank you as always I love your enthusiasm
The real treasure is your creativity. Thank you for making 2024 bearable. Looking forward to what is coming next year. You could take white pearl cotton to use as pearls by making a series of knots in the thread. Just a thought.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. I hope the next year will be better (I can hope right!). A pearls, what a great idea. I didn't think of that, but now I want to add some. Oh, I have such a long list of things I want to do!
I have loved watching you make this scroll. The colors and textures are wonderful. I can’t wait to see your next project. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Thank you so much. I’ll have something new to share soon
Вы показали удивительный и прекрасный мир,созданный вами из крошечных лоскутков и швов... Это чудесно! Браво! Я очарована ❤
Thank you so much. Your words make me very happy

This is great! Finally pure creativity that's not manufactured. Bravo
Thank you. I try to avoid the manufactured as much as I can
Çok güzel çalışma ellerinize emeğinize yüreğinize sağlık ❤❤❤❤😊
Thank you very much. I wish I could answer you in Turkish
It just occurred to me that shiny candy or chocolate wrappers would give some bling!! This is a fun way to end your scroll just in time for the holiday sparkles !! Your stitching is truly beautiful ❤
Thanks Julie. Chocolate wrappers, that’s such a good idea!
I love your examples with yarn, I see it very clearly. You are an amazing teacher and a wonderful artist. I want to know about when your workshops and how to sign up!
Thank you. I do workshops in the Vancouver area from time to time, but I don’t have anything scheduled right now
Adore the scroll!! 🎉❤🎉
Thank you
Really enjoyed listening to your stories and love your little pieces of stitched art. I really want to have a go 😊. Just subscribed to your channel
Happy stitching
Didn't know cetchup-chips existed!😅. Such a harmonious little piece. Looks so lush and appetizing. How on earth have I never heard of beauty berries before😮 Well I know now! Thank you😀
Only in Canada. I was rather surprised when I first saw those berries too. Maybe they don’t grow where you live. Our climate is similar to London England
@@mistikomakes yes, too cold in Oslo, (the coldest day last winter:-23)
Misty Just love the burst o color .pl do consider a forest scroll as your next project Ive done the garden and finishing the Underwater. This wd just nail it .please .Have yourself a Happy, Holy and Peaceful Season.Thank you for adding so much of meaning and color to this yearGod Bless you
Thank you. I bet your scrolls are lovely. Wishing you peace and happiness too
It is really beautiful. congratulations for your creativity.
Thank you so much
This is such a beautiful piece.
Thank you I’m glad you like it
You do such beautiful and inspiring work! I love that you leave your little "fumbles" and missteps in. That sort of thing makes art seem so much more accessible. Your daughter's comment was funny! I live in the US (and am more concerned with our political climate than our chip flavors 🤣) but I'm pretty sure that we DO have ketchup chips, LOL. Probably not that particular brand, but we have all sorts of unusual flavors of chips: salt and pepper, Chesapeake Bay crab spice, Philly cheese steak, New York pizza, Nashville hot chicken, New England lobster roll, dill pickle, chile relleno, BLT sandwich, fried pickles, cajun spice, pretty much every flavor you can think of!❤❤❤
Thank you so much. You really do have some interesting flavours. I had to look it up and according to the inter webs, ketchup chips are only readily available in Canada. Surprised me too. On the other hand, I did once find an imported flavour of Lays called “American Classic” otherwise known as plain. They were rather expensive. I did not buy them
Oh and I think anyone with any sense would be concerned with your political situation
😂 about the ketchup chips! Too bad I don't work at Frito-Lay I could probably make a fortune by suggesting it. And yes Ma'am to the politics. People are scared I guess by the economy and some are willing to believe anything they are told...
I like how you took the beauty of nature and created that beautiful scrappy piece of art! Thank you!
Thank you very much!
I love the sparkly embroidery floss but it doesn't love me back. Fights me. I will use a bigger needle eye. I didn't know you are Canadian. So am I and your daughter is right about the chips!!! 😜
It doesn’t love me either. I’ve been mostly using it by laying it on the top of the fabric and using a fine thread to stitch it down it’s called couching. It makes a nice outline but doesn’t really work for little spots of sparkle. The huge needle does leave holes on the cloth, so it’s not really ideal, but worked in this case
I’m in Vancouver. What area are you in?
@ Ontario! GTA
I'm going to take your suggestion to trust myself and sew a project without knowing exactly where it's going to go. I love your daughter's comment about ketchup. I've never had a ketchup chip, but we have barbeque chips....maybe that would compensate if she were to find herself stuck in the States.
Cool. It’s a good practice to start trusting yourself in small things where the outcome isn’t really important. Be aware of your self talk. The lifetime of messages that tell you what to do. Tell them it’s all okay and it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t work out. It’s all good practice
Keşke dilinizi anlasaydım ama fikirlerinizden faydalanıyorum çok teşekkür ederim ❤❤❤😊
I wish I could speak all the languages. There really is an unfair English speaking privilege
Thanks for the cute fishy stitch. All the cristmas fuzz makes me resistant too 😊 All you did made the scroll even better🥰
Thanks, glad you like it
Love this!
thank you
Glorious scroll! I’m loving the finishing touches and the way you stitch with an abandon and free form style. Great ideas. Thank you

Thank you. This scroll is almost finished. Just two videos to go
I so enjoy watching your creations. You are so very creative it is inspiring. Thank You.
Thank you so much. It really fills me when you comment
Why are the gods depicted with four arms?
Oh, that’s a good question and a whole rabbit hole to get lost in. The depictions of deities in many belief systems are not literal but have various symbolic meanings. I don’t know enough about Hindu beliefs to give any sort of adequate explanation. I will say that when Parvati is depicted with two arms when she is with her husband, and four arms when she is by herself
I ❤ your videos. I am really having fun making my own scroll, although, I am a bit behind and want to try to catch up after the holidays. You are a wonderful artist.
Wonderful! I’m glad you are having fun. No need to feel behind. It’s not a race.
Oh how wonderful.... absolutely love anything sparkly. 💖
