The Pitfall of Perfection How it Hinders Progress in Marketing Your Mediation Practice
I very much enjoyed this presentation. Viewed for CME credit for mediator renewal in the State of Florida. It was very informative. Thank you.
Great presentation! Very informative. Viewed for CME credit as a family mediator in the State of Florida.
Professor Singh this was such a wonderful presentation! This was an option for the FDRC mediation credits. I am glad they included your presentation.
I love the idea that the content can be repurposed and recycled as you've suggested. That really is a game changer! Quick question - for your videos, how many different platforms do you use to post them on?
Hi Natalie. Thanks so much for the information. Are you aware of a platform that helps you determine how many people see your website, who they are, and how long they stayed on your site?
Wow, Natalie. I watched this video twice. Cudos to Avery Bisbee! Between Avery's content and your delivery, I have enough notes and built up enthusiasm to get started on my own Facebook page. This was like a condensed version of The Idiot's Guide to Getting Your Mediation Practice Set Up on Facebook!!! (Hopefully, you will take this last statement as the complement it was intended to be!)
Hi, Natalie. For people new to mediation, do you have a general opinion as to what organization might be the best option to network in, and can you describe the best way to network within that group? Thanks so much, as always, for your wonderful videos!!
Interesting, fun and Insightful! Well done, Nat and Sid!
Thanks so much for the information, Natalie. I especially liked the recommendation that we follow up with a survey. Can you tell me a little more about how to get testimonials that we can publish online??
Very helpful.
@@KarimuHill-Harvey thanks! Let us know if there’s a topic you’d like us to cover or a presenter we should invite to the Will Work For Food series.
Hi Natalie. Thanks for this video. It's so inspirational! Have you, by any chance, created a video reflecting on your journey from your earliest videos to where you are today? I would be so interested to hear about your development as a content creator. I think it would provide some context and a scaffold for us go about branding ourselves in an orderly fashion.
@JohnBischofEsq that's a great idea! I'll put that in the lineup!
Hi Natalie. This was superb from beginning to end! I'm glad you both drilled into the 2 most important takeaways I got from this podcast - 1. Not letting perfection get in the way of progress & 2. basically, if your first X amount of podcasts were bad/not what you hoped for, suck it up! Practice makes better. Now I have twice the motivation to record and release. Have a wonderful weekend!
is there a course number for this presentation called "Multi-lingual Mediation the ethics of mediating with multiple languages with Christina Maldonado" some one had a same question at least 9 months back but no number was provided to the listener. I also need the CME reference number to get the credit. Thanks
@@neerakar347 there is no course number. If you need a certificate of attendance to self-submit to a licensing body, email me your request at Natalie@willworkforfood.news

Hi Natalie. You've done it again! Very motivational video. I don't know how this strategy could fail to motivate mediators and mediation firms to produce content for their websites/brands. Fact is that very few of them seem to do so. More opportunities for the rest of us!!
@JohnBischofEsq Thanks for the compliment! You're right, very few do. It takes a certain drive, lots of tenacity, and more than a little consistency. All characteristics that you possess! You've got this!
Great Job!
@@Dr.HughF.BrockingtonII thank you Dr Brockingtonil
Insightful!
Thanks! I'm glad that you found the content valuable.
Thanks for the rundown, Natalie. I think I will always be working on my patience, listening skills and eye contact while speaking with people. I ordinarily don't have much of a problem with that UNLESS I start thinking about what I'm going to say next while they are still talking! And, thanks also about the tips to remember someone's name. That's so incredibly important.
@@JohnBischofEsq you’re welcome. Some of these connection tasks are easier said than done. Luckily you can draw on your mediator skills :)
Talking about growth mindset is my language ! I am currently listening to "the magic of thinking big", available on UA-cam.
@theweaverpodcast That's a great one!
Thanks Natalie for another great video. Talking about content, what are your thoughts about AI generated videos? Is this something that you have already covered? If you haven't, I would love to hear your take on this question. Be well!
Great suggestion John! I'll put that topic in my queue. There are several really good AI video generators. Canva.com, ClipChamp, and Open.ai I'll put together a list and create a video with some resources and examples.
Thank you, Natalie, for another great presentation. I'm working with my firm right now to craft our online presence and will be incorporating many of the suggestions you've introduced me to moving forward. I'll let you know how they go. Be well in the meantime!
@@JohnBischofEsq let me know if you’d like to meet on Zoom for a chat about your marketing options
@@MarketingResolution Wow! You stay up late on a Friday night!! I would love to speak this coming week. I should have some time around 3pm (EDT) on Tuesday. Would that work for you? It would be great getting to meet you!
Hey Natalie. I hope you're well. I recently became a Florida certified circuit court mediator and am about to become certified in county court. I'm finally able to follow the dream of becoming a full time mediator that I had hoped to start 25 years ago when I graduated law school. At 67, I'm itching to launch my next career and leave litigation behind. I've been following/viewing your posts, and taking copious notes since finding you about one month ago. I think I'm a junkie! Anyway, I've learned so much about the business of mediation from you even though I've participated in mediations as an attorney for more than 20 years and thought I knew a thing or two. I'd like to be present for your Marketing Monday live events as my schedule permits. I'm still working for a south-Florida law firm, and they've trusted me to build their mediation practice. I'm very interested in creating 1 - 2 minute videos to start in the vein of FAQs to add to our site. Nearly 45 years ago when I attended Rutgers University, I was heavily involved in their Television and Broadcasting program and would like to take that creativity to the next level using Canva and Clipchamp. I know it will take time, but I'm following your mantra about practicing and repeating. I'm sorry for such a long post, but I can tell you that I'll be a forever devoted follower, and "Good Human!"
I loved the advice. I'm working remotely from Tallahassee, Florida and see a number of mega-mediation firms with retired judges and 40+ practice areas. I've worked as an attorney for 25 years and spent nearly 20 years engaged in insurance defense and plaintiffs' work. With zoom mediations, I can work throughout the state, however I'm mostly known in south Florida. Do you have specific advice to target markets in other parts of the state?
you can expand your geographical reach by connecting with your primary target on LinkedIn and posting about insurance cases, insurance news, and insights into insurance settlement. Build your audience with your credibility and authority in neighboring areas.
Wow! This is a game-changer. Thanks once again for sharing some amazing information, Natalie!! I'm going to give them both a try.
@@JohnBischofEsq let me know how it works out for you!
Totally agree on the multitasking. I think it has been big with baby boomer for the rise of industrial productivity but it is obviously not sustainable
@theweaverpodcast, thanks for your comment - We all like to think that we can multitask ... and sometimes we can. But it's important to know when to stop and focus on just one thing.
Thank you for all the tips, Natalie. I'm excited to start creating content and using all the suggestions you've mentioned regarding best practices, editing, etc. Once I have my first successful video, I'll reach out to you with thoughts! Be well in the meantime 😀
@JohnBischofEsq You're very welcome. I look forward to seeing your video!
Hi Natalie. Thanks so much for this video. I've written down so many great points you've made. Can't wait to implement them. BTW, are you a proponent of using a teleprompter for your videos? It doesn't seem like you use one. I was just wondering if you have any recommendations regarding this equipment.
Hi @JohnBischofEsq . I'm glad you found the video helpful. I don't use a teleprompter. However, there are several good ones on Amazon. You can use your tablet on a tripod with a camera behind the teleprompter glass. I think it's better to have an outline, not a script. I create a very brief outline on sticky notes and post them next to the eye of my camera. I hope this helps you.
@@willworkforfood This helps a lot. I actually use that strategy when giving briefs to the court at various hearings. I think this all goes back to what you've said about reading vs. talking. Reading will always sound a bit stiff. As a follow up, do you ever edit your videos? I don't know how you do it, but they always sound great! Perhaps coffee and France may have something to do with that??
Thanks, Natalie! You introduced me to so many exciting ideas for marketing and connecting with future clients. By any chance, have you produced a segment addressing how to mediate a personal injury case? If so, I'd love to watch it.
I'm so glad I found this webinar. Thank you so much, Natalie, for presenting such a comprehensive, informative, and instructive way to take mediation from concept to competition. You nailed everything I could have hoped for. I'll be looking for more content from you and sharing it with my colleagues. Well done!!

Hello North Valley Anger Management Consultants Mission Hills California
Thank you so much! This is incredibly helpful.🤓
Hello, I must say, your Video, was quite helpful to me. I am in a different Field, however, I need to know what tools you use to set up an “ FAQ” Video about Art Conservation. I have many people calling me or sending a text message, about “how to care for their Art Work’s “ . I also would like to design an “ FAQ”~ just like you did, this morning. It was filled with excellent information, and ideas to get me started. Thank you🌟 Would you please, 11:59 be so kind, and share the “ tools to use with my Chromebook” as, I’m a bit technologically challenged.. I’ve been in Business, well over 50+ years; and would enjoy, helping others, to care for their art properly. Especially, when they are having, a “Fine Art “ Shipped home, by a certain “ Shipping Company “ who does not know how to ship Art of any calibre !! I have restored, more damaged Art, from being “ Shipped” because, the Company, is unfamiliar with ~ “ How to Ship Your Art Work “ I thank you for sharing your experience with Video and “ FAQ” questions 🧡🌟🧡💐 Have a wonderful day, Kindest regards, artchem1
Great insight. Thank you for sharing, Nat.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this, just picked up Hesha's book and it is wonderful - just what I need 💕

Thank you for the information. Starting a new mediation practise and not sure how to go about this. I am a trauma informed high conflict mediator. Give me high conflict no problem. Start a business YIKES
@@PennyJanineFraser you’re very welcome. Building a practice is both fun and rewarding and yes, maybe a bit less adrenaline than high conflict mediations. Great content
Thanks!
Thank you for this content. It helped
You're very welcome!
Thank you for an intelligent comprehensive guideline for focus, analysis and crafting my practice.
Always great to hear an intelligent litigator lay out what they look for in a mediator. I mediated over 2000 cases before I decided to just concentrate on arbitration--and learned early on that speaking to parties (counsel) before and after the mediation session was very helpful in building trust and increasing chances of settling. I would suggest to Sarita that unfortunately we can't change certain constants, one of which is parties will continue to treat your initial candor as a negotiating ploy and it would be more effective in the long run of you just deal with that reality even though it consumes more (frustrating) time.
Glad you enjoy the presentations!
Wow! What a great lecture! I’m so surprised to see only one like and only one comment, mine! This information is so needed, especially coming from a lawyer who is clearly very self aware and went through a transformation. Thank you!
Wow, thank you!
Thank you, Nat, for an engaging and thought-provoking session.
You’re very welcome!

Fantastic job! I loved the case scenarios and learned a great deal from this session.
Thanks! We owe so much to our great presenters.
Great Video
Glad you enjoyed it
After watching the video i understand why during mediation training course we were told to advise parties against brining attorneys to the mediation session. There is also other great videos on YT explaining the downside of it.... It majority if not all mediation practices there is a case intake person to prevent mediator "liking or prefer one party against the other" as one of main mediator principals is - neutrality. Mediator guides parties to mutually satisfactory outcome, not one party to win or lose, it is opposite from what attorneys do - they are monetarily incentivised for thd best possible outcome, not the optimalk outcome.
Thanks Nathalie. Great example.
Thanks Peter @NahmiasDisputeResolution!
Congratulations on your historic tenure, Cousin David!
