Thank you for sharing so much about Maplelea. There really isn’t a lot of content about them on UA-cam and your videos have been so informative! I have now begun adding Maplelea dolls to my collection and am loving learning more about them. I love all of your videos and your obvious passion for doll collecting. My first Maplelea doll was Leoni in honor of my sis who has moved to Quebec with her Canadian husband. (We’re from the states.) I then rescued a 2nd hand Jenna who is so precious as well l, and I have more on the way. I want them all now! ❤ 🇨🇦

Hi Sophia, I know this is an older video but I was looking up how to fix up MapleLea dolls. I have seen Clara in your collection but I never saw you fix her up. Great job! The wig is adorable. I can see why she’s a favourite. Super cute! I am thinking of buying a Saila from FB marketplace but her leg has an issue where the stitching is coming undone and it will require sewing back together. She is $20. I’m not sure how easy the sewing would be though. Have you ever come across any dolls with that problem?

If Saila ever restocks (the date keeps getting pushed) I’ll definitely add her to my collection-but I don’t know if I’ll keep her on this body, just so she matches the rest of my dolls. She’s got such a pretty sculpt.

Thank you for showing us in more detail the comparisons between these two doll brands. I really like them both but I collect more American girl. I am Canadian so I would love to add a few more MapleLea dolls to my collection. I only have Taryn right now. I really appreciated you showing how they can hold their hands together in a pose. I did not know that! Right away I changed Taryn’s outfit, posed her and gave her a mini OG doll to hold. She looks so cute!❤ I will post a picture on my community page. Thank you!

I'm glad I bought Saila a few years ago and a lot of her indigenous clothing. She and some of her outfits are now unavailable and I am wondering if they will re-release her. One thing I missed out on is her Pang hat, but it is still listed as sold out for quite a few years now. Does this mean it will be manufactured again? Does anybody know? Thanks

I don't own a Maplelea doll so can't take measurements but own several pairs of the shoes and boots and a lot of the clothing. Here's what I think just by the fit. Maplelea boots are narrower but fit AG dolls. It seems like they are 1/2 inch longer than AG doll shoes. I could put them sole to sole and measure to get an accurate measurement but haven't done so yet. The narrowness isn't noticeable and fits fine. The only shoes they can't wear is open back like sandals and slippers because you can visibly see the overhang in the back. The extra length in closed shoes is in the front. They just look like they have bigger feet when two AG dolls are side by side and wearing the different brands. AG tends to make their sleeves on the short side (drives me nuts). Maplelea doll's arms (again not measured) are 1/2 inch longer and so the sleeves fit better and go to the top of the hand instead of half way up her wrist. Pants aren't as noticeable but I think they are 1/2 inch longer, too. All in all the Maplelea clothes are made better (Kudos to the Canadian manufacturer), fit better, and are cheaper per outfit due to the exchange rate. You can't drop photos in UA-cam comments so I can't show the comparison but it is visible on the dolls.

Great video! I wish I liked Maplelea dolls more than I do because they are very cute overall and I like how they can be more easily posed. I'm just one of those people who get the Uncanny Valley feeling from them 😭

I herd if you take the head off an American Girl doll theirs something inside the head or something printed that says when the doll was made

I like the Maplelea doll than American girl.

This is why you should collect because you love something not for money. Demand for Niche categories can drop at any point.

I have those dolls inherited by accident, and just love to dress them. I place them in ethnic dresses even Native American and she looks wonderful. Number 29 I got in 2012 so she had a different meet outfit. I was working in an at risk pediatric clinic with children from all over the world. So that doll fit nicely and reminds me of some of my patients from South America. 42 I don't have but she looks wonderful. Magic Attic doll you can find a replacement part for the arm. Just wonderful.

Use a blow dryer to get the dust off the hair. Also a small art paint soft bristle brush (not the big kind) to gently loosen dust that is stuck. I learned that from a fellow doll collector. xoxo

It’s always exciting being able to find AG books out in thrift stores, yard sales, etc. I am currently trying to collect all of the ones in the mystery series. Many of them I didn’t get a chance to read when I was younger so it’s really interesting reading them as an adult. They are engaging and almost more “mature” than their 6 book set IMO, but maybe that’s also part of the strong writing. Regardless, they are very enjoyable!

I’m sad this ended. I am from Wisconsin and my mom would take my sister and I every year when we were still into American girl dolls I looked online today because the memory of the sale popped up in my brain and I’m kind of sad that it ended. I live in Madison now, so would be really easy to go to. Also, I had no clue that American girl has a headquarters in Middleton. Scratch that I just googled it. They closed the Wisconsin headquarters down.

There’s some fantastic advice in here! One extra thing I would add is to periodically put away into storage a part of your collection (this allows you to rotate displays etc) and when you pull the storage bin back out see if there are any dolls that you didn’t think of at all and consider donating/ selling them. I’ve done this since childhood and it makes it much easier to tell how attached I am to something and makes downsizing much easier!

I love all your Maplelea videos! I'm kind of new to Maplelea, but had wanted Saila for a while and finally got her earlier this year (and a ton of outfits)! I can't seem to find any information anywhere on the Maplelea doll face molds. It seems like there are five face molds and I'm wondering if they have official or unofficial fan-created names? I've noticed the "classic" or first mold on 5/7 of the character dolls, the one Leonie has, the one Saila has, the one that the boy dolls have, and the one on the majority of the Maplelea Friends dolls. Is that correct, are there just the five? Also, how often do they come out with new dolls and outfits?

Fun to watch. I spent a small fortune to collect the boxed sets that have the girls’ pictures on the box spine. They’re so pretty. I love having the “Welcome to __’s World” books too. I was super picky about condition, so I averaged $35-$50 a box set. No regrets. 🤪

Yes, the pink long sleeve is ‘ribbed’ 👍🏻 Leotard is also correct for gymnastics I believe! The word you were looking for the “head scarf” is ‘bandana’ and the tank top that ties around the neck is a ‘halter top’. Hope that helps!

Alexi always has the best clothes! Congratulations on your new finds. My favorite Maplelea character is Léonie, followed by Saila. I love their face sculpts the best although Jenna being from Nova Scotia makes me love her, too.

I recognize that this one is a year old, but I still wanted to comment that I think you are right about curating the collection, but I find it hard 😅 I know there are many Barbies that I love looking at, but I don't know which ones I would want. I also don't know if I want to complete my Disney Princess collection or not. I'm missing two I know that I want, but there's one princess I don't particularly like and two whose dolls I often don't like (and collecting Disney is crazy anyway).

In the last 18 months since I started buying Maplelea, there are three shades of blue boxes. My favorite is the med shade of blue. And I wish they would've kept the Keepsake boxes for the dolls.

i don't have a Mapelea doll but I love the clothing for my AG girls and have purchased a good deal of the outfits. The current Mapelea boxes are darker. Congrats on your dolls and finding those important outfits.

Congrats on getting some rare MapleLea dolls. I love the Canadian Girl Hoodie. The light blue shirt and hat are very adorable. I still only have Taryn in my collection but if I see more in the wild I may add them. Especially Saila. 😊

Wow! Fantastic finds!! Both girls are so pretty, and amazing you got the cool cargos outfit back - I remember really liking that outfit when I saw it in the catalogue! Looking forward to seeing your Maplelea and Me girl all dressed up!! Alexi looks sooooo lovely!! So happy she's part of your Maplelea collection now!! I unfortunately donated 2 of my Maplelea girls (Taryn and Alexi - both were used when I got them) before relocating to my current city, but I still have Jenna, whom I absolutely love - I waited 10 years to get her, but finally did in 2018!! She is currently in the most recent OG Skateboarding outfit 😁 I also adore Charlesea (I bought her for my niece this past Christmas, but I'd like to get her, eventually). Saila is just amazing! I remember being so happy and enchanted by her when she came out!! I think the name "Maplelea" might also echo "Avonlea" - I think the dolls are produced under the company name "Avonlea Traditions" Great video!!

Okay I just freaked over the white doll hoodie. I love, love, love (you can in the 193 loves yourself) your Maplelea and other dolls (AG) videos. Being from the U.S. I need to find out I can about the beautiful Canadian dolls from YT. I got 2 questions if don’t mind me picking your brain. Maybe somebody can help me. How many starter outfits did these dolls go through? I think (correct if I’m wrong) the original 4 have had two and the new 3 have had only one. The other question I have see this term used on eBay when looking for Maplelea stuff Avonlea. I know that is a fictional place the Anne of Green Gables went. I don’t understand what that term being used by Maplelea means? I know Morton used to make Anne of Green Gables things before Maplelea but I’m confused. My favorite doll? That like asking what is my favorite piece of chocolate? My favorite the one that was love at first sight was Charlsea saw picture with the tie dye shirt and the mismatched leggings I knew I had to have her and if it wasn’t for you I would still be mispronouncing her name. then I got Taryn loved her butterflies and outdoor sprit and then Alexi. Her color looked like me with the moto jacket and she wants to help people with disabilities which I do.
