Shred on! 🤘
just started mountain biking (going to college in santa cruz) and had no clue such a nice bike trail was in my hometowns backyard my whole life. thanks for posting! cheers.
Noice! Saw you guys there twice this past week (Saturday and Wednesday). I was the guy in the bright yellow and red Fox jersey on the Canyon View switchbacks (you guys were coming down them and I was climbing) and the black jersey with the American flag print on the arm on Wednesday (can't remember where we were at). Looked like you were both having a great time. The trails out there are fantastic this time of year, because all of that chalky dust has been turned into traction by the rains. The riding is epic! If I can make a suggestion; When you come down from Oats and get to "The Hub," at 12:02 hook left onto Beebee. Beebee is what everyone descends on, so you won't be on the switchbacks that everyone is climbing up. Beebee is a great roller coaster, and will reconnect you with the Oats trail, after about 2mi. at 18:36 in your video. It makes the descent more fun for you, and the climbing/hiking/running safer and more fun for people heading up.
Thank you for letting us know. We were visiting the area those days. Its a magnificent area. I am so glad, we were able to ride it. Its one of the most surreal landscape we have seen. I will for sure remember the Beebee trail for our next visit. The people in Santa Cruz hikers and bikers are all super amazing folks. I was glad to have run in to each and everyone of you all. Thank you for such a awesome adventure.
@@KSGMTB lol... This isn't Santa Cruz. SC is 150-something miles north. You were riding in the community of Los Osos, just south of the City of Morro Bay. San Luis Obispo is the large city, located 10mi east, along the 101 freeway. I'm glad you guys had a great visit!!
@@austinado16 Thanks for the corrections. I was thinking my next trip. Jumping ahead of myself. lol.
Is this Daley Ranch?
@REB4444 it's Quail 2 Caballo at Daily Ranch
@@KSGMTB Looked familiar once you start seeing the houses in the valley.
Luv
Hey can you please tell me what tires and size are these? I want to run the same set up. Thanks !
On that day, I used a maxxis 29x2.6 DHF front and a 29x2.4 Dissector Rear. My new tire choose has been a Specialized Butcher 29x2.3 T7 Front and a Specialzed Purgatory 29x2.3 T5 Rear. They seem to be better suited for the type of riding i preferred to do. I hope this this helps. Have a good day
@@KSGMTB bro thanks! 🙏🏼
Liking this bike because if battery fails you can always ride it manual like a regular mtn bike.... tough if you were stuck 40 miles deep ..battery dies and you had to climb on a 60lb bike! lol
hey u should try zigzag its right before entering stanley peak climb to the left. that trail has been worked on lately has nice flow and some jumps . would make a nice vid
Thanks for the advise. I will try it next time I am there.
Do you regularly bike in laugna
Yes, we do. But on days where we like to ride further and longer we like to use the ebike.
Great video. How is it like to ride on the regular road with the motor on? I'm wondering if this can be my lazy ride around the town bike. 😁
Motor cuts out at 20mph, on a heavier bike its hard to keep the 20mph. on these lighter ebike you can keep it or turn it at 20mph or higher or turn the thing off.
Thank you 🙏
This is random, I found this by searching for zoom crop -- but does pinch-to-zoom crop work on your app? Like it doesn't seem to matter how much I zoom, the export is still zoomed out.
The app pinch to zoom does not work. I always use the x360 software on my computer, it gives me more options to change the color move the camera angles up and down, zoom in and out, etc. It is actually a really good piece of software. If it was not for the software and how simple it made things for me. I might have gone back to the GoPro. As a novice and doing this for fun, I dont have a bunch of time to dedicate to video editing for UA-cam like someone who does this for a living. So this X360 camera software does the trick for me. Every software update seems to have improve the application and the focus was on time saving to get things posted. I hope this helps your, good luck and have a fun using the camera.
How do you get such great stabilisation? Either my Insta360x3 is defective or I've got something wrongly set up. . . 😕
I Have the camera setup with the image stabilization enable. I find that its best to mount this camera on my helmet, its too heavy to be place on a gopro chest strap with out it bouncing around. I use their editing software tool to do the rest.
But will the standard carbon comp be anywhere near as good? How much better is the s works?
From what I know specialized use the same fact11 carbon front triangle for S-Works and Specialized version of this bike. The only different would be the S-Works has a carbon shock yoke vs aluminum on the Specialized model. S-Works is just a little lighter and can be spec out around 24-26lbs. The Specialized models will be a 2-6 lbs. heavier, but that's mostly parts. Will it be just as good as the S-Works, that really depends on your riding style and the type of terrain you ride it on. Lighter bikes does not always translate to a more stable bike on rough descend. The lighter bike will climb batter, but not necessarily descend better. So you have to take where you ride 95% of the time into consideration when buying these bikes. I prefer a heavier bike when I am at a bike park riding. Its just more stable, and gives me more confident on the descend, that's my two cent. Hope he helps you. Specialized has made a wonderful bike with this version of the Stump Jumper. It does everyone just well enough for you to have one bike that can both climb and descend. Its not the fastest at either end, but still puts a smile on your face and that's all that really matters at the end of the day.
that's my nephew!!! Way to go Chris Lee!!!
Awesomeness job!!
Definitely some sketchy stuff. Going there soon. Just did PCE and Art Smith last week end. Art Smith was no joke either.
Great video! What time of year did you go? We are considering going late July this year.
July 4, the weather was perfect for Mountian Biking up there. We enjoy riding a XC trail up there as well. Wasatch Crest Trail. I will try to get a video of it posted this week assuming, I can find the footage of it. You will have lots of fun there. Look up the WOW Trail as well. Be safe and have a wonderful time there. Cheers
Thank you!
Who's that first skinny guy?😆
Most of our ride the only skinny guy is Mike. Hahaha
Just love your footage! This is exactly what I am looking to do. I see from the shadow that the X3 is mounted to your helmet? Is that correct? Any tips or comments on how you mounted this? Tks!!!
Marc, I use a gopro adhesive sticky that I got on amazon. The camera is mounted gopro adapter holder mount. Yes, the camera is on top of the helmet. If you mount the camera in front of the helmit flat with one lens up and one lens down you can hide the 3d stitching with the horizon. That is also a really cool POV too.
Nice video quality for the x3. Is this captured on a single lens mode or 360 reframed video? Can you share any tips on having this video quality? Im having noise ( video quality) issues on my x3 even if the environment is bright. I always use the 360 mode then reframe it . Thanks 🙏
Did you guys ride you Ibis on this trail? Do you think i can do it with DH bike?
Ebikes works well here.
How do you like the Ibis bike?
They are awesome. But takes a few rides to get use to them. One of the best climbing bikes I am happy to have.
This looks fun
Cool Place to Ride...
Thanks for the awesome comment. It's Kimberly doing. I just following blindly. That is all I am good for hahaha.
I like it too. But it was super hard to ride not being use to the elevation and all.
Thanks for watching our KSG MTB Video
You guys are insane dude!!
Excellent job guys!!
Hey what’s the name of that go pro ur using?
In my later video I have been using an insta360.
How much did the Sid ultimate drop from stock fork? I have a spare sid sl 100mm I could put on the 9.6 I just ordered, just wondering how it will affect the handling since it comes with a 120. Florida fast xc flow riding is what I'll be doing with it. Currently I also have a supercaliber 9.8 non-ebike model
The fork was the same 120mm on the sid I used.
That trails looks very rough and rocky...
It is but not too bad over all.
Pretty good test on flat ground. I would say that those trails require 120m travel at most.
This is an XC trail so you are 100% right. I have done it with my Hardtail before. Its just more enjoyable and if you need a recovery day.
no music please
cool
First🥇
Awesome!
Thanks!
Is it easy to climb uphill s considering as an ebike
It takes the edge off the climb. Plus it taught me how to spin more on my bike using the lower gears. I use to mess my pedals on the climb instead of switching to a lighter gear. But this e-bikes, the motor does not kick in until you really spin to aroung 50-60 cadance.
Thanks! How is motor sound/noise uphills? Bosch kitchenaid-like or cool?
Not bad
Hello, I'm from Brazil and I just bought this wonderful bike. I won't do upgrades because the money has run out. ahahah
Hope you enjoy it!
Bosch is for riding 95% assisted. Fazua bikes are 75% power off. Only on for nasty steep patches etc.
agreed
Hi, still enjoying the e-cal? Have you ridden over 20mph on straights? If so, were you able to maintain it fairly easily? And may I ask, why did you go with this one over the Orbea Rise or Levo SL?
Yes and it does not drag like the other big motor bike. Mainttaining it was is not a big deal as the motor and battery slide right out of the bike so cleaning is super easy. I went to the Rise due to a more efficient motor battery combo, plus the bonus to me, the bike suit my riding style more. I have own specailized in the past including the levo and ridden my buds 2021 Turbo Levo for extended length of time for fun. They are awesome bikes but in my hands they just done seem to fit me right. I like a higher riding position and all of the Specialized I have ridden seem to have a lower front end. It just does not work for me well. I know I can change a few things up to make it fit. It is just me. No fault to the bike or Specialized. I enjoy taking my ebike on 20 plus miles ride and the levo SI with out the battery extender gives me range anxiety.
Great trails great review gona buy a stumpjumper pro how did the sram brakes perform? 🤔
Sram brakes are just find. I like the RSC one better then the non-adjustable ones. It allows for finner tuning.
Where is the review?
I'm really interested in the E--Caliber 9.6. About battery life, how many miles were you able to run on one battery charge?
I was getting around 1900 feet of climbing and 25-28 miles on the main battery. I always carried an extra on just in case. But to be honest, you can just pedal the bike like a normal bike when the battery is empty. The e-caliber is so efficient that you can ride it with the motor off or bettery yet just take the more battery out and put it in you backpack.
Awesome video. Can you share your route please. TIA😊

I bought a Super Caliber 9.7 damn I miss that thing traded it in for a Top Fuel GX 9.8. I like it but loved that super cal. Im seriously considering buying an ECal, but damn they are 9k now.
They have gone up for sure.
My next machine
Thank you for the video. Fun ride. How much less power does the Rise feel like than the Wild? Does it feel noticeable on the climbs?
Rex, comparing the 2 bike there is a noticable power between the full power bike and the Rise. But tossing the bike around you can feel the weight of the heavier bike and the Rise will feel more natural.
I'm really interested in the fazua motor for my next ebike. Do you ever ride your bike with the motor off? I have a Fezzari emtb with a Shimano 7000 motor and it's only really feasible to pedal it with the motor off on flat ground and even then there is a significant amount of resistance.
Sean I do ride my e-bike with the motor off. What makes the Trek e-caliber so good in some cases is that you can just remove it off of the bike. I have done that too. And doing so, I PR one of my climbing segment. The e-calber is a really fast fun XC bikes. I have also ridden the new Orbea Rise EP8 motor and you can also ride those bike with the motor off. The drag is very little to none. Both bike are so light that the motor off you will not feel the weight of the bike like in most 50lbs e-bikes.
Nice!
Thanks!
