The only clips I've seen of this make it seem like a pretty solid gameshow, however I know it's best it doesn't come to America... We'd ruin it

Just came here because Des O'Connor who hosted the programme from 2006 to 2008 has died. He was 88. RIP Des O'Connor. 1932-2020.
I read the sad news about Des O’Connor. Rest In Peace, Des. 🙁 I remember watching him on ITV back in the 1980’s and 1990’s on his own talk show and on Take Your Pick, then on his and Mel’s talk show in the early 2000’s. 😃
That's Two Countdown Host's That Have Died :(
you mean 3?

I come from the future in my present the intro colour is blue.
That’s not how it works. The people in the past can’t see your comment in the future because you haven’t commented it yet
Lovely intro at the start.
I also make Countdown Intros.
Was sent here by Big Shaq doing quick mafs
This introduction is from Monday 27th December 1999 not 2001
Well it was used until 2001, so the title isn't wholly inaccurate
2006
2006
Why do people swear in these comments? I think It's a great theme tune!
Be great if C4 didn't talk over the credits and put a banner on the side of the screen showing what's on next, it's quite annoying actually, why can't they say that after the TV show
It's not Des O'Connor, it is Des Lynam
Yeah, but both eras use exactly the same intro and ending credits.
Yeah
i love that song lool:)
@countdowngoofs erm... your channel.....
Classic
BrigBother's just uploaded a clip of Celebrity Countdown featuring the opening titles.
I'd change the descriptor from "current" to "series 59". The new series has a new title sequence.
Those credits used to freak me out! Was happy when they changed them lol.
Me too, I hated seeing the Countdown clock seemingly pulled apart during the credits; it made me feel depressed. I was like; I'd rather have the spooky camera pan out to in between the railings of the audience than that depressing countdown clock being pulled apart! lol😂
fucking amazing! not!!
What the fuck dude. You clicked the video. You got the fucking video.

I think it depends if C4 are willing to search the vaults for the whole lot of episodes and give them to Challenge.

They aired Classic Countdown in 2015.
