this games makes me mad in each level as it is sometimes not possible to beat it. i stopped playing it at this level with the cyclopse as the monsters are everywhere and killing Dirk all over again. I am frustrated right now. I have to have a break all the time to rethink and try again :-) geez. If I can ever beat it? lets see

From what I've read, Smithers didn't have any character development outside of being Mr. Burn's lackey at the time this game was made, so they weren't really going against his character as it still wasn't established yet.

I have no idea what made me think of this game like 15 years after I played it, I don't even own it anymore or the system I played it on, but hey this was cool to watch for the nostalgia.

I realize this LP is nearly two years old, but here's some info in case you're still curious. The two ladies you didn't recognize in the picture at 32:32 are Princess Rei (the only princess ever to escape Orlouge by committing suicide; you can find her empty coffin early in the game and White Rose will comment on it) and Mesarthim (the mermaid from earlier in the quest). Mesarthim can be permanently re-recruited at some point during the quest if you revisit the underground pool past the derpy squid. Rei can also be recruited if you speak to her at the cherry blossom shrine in Devin after losing White Rose to the labyrinth. She's the only character in the game with Mirage magic, and she's unique to Asellus's quest. The window behind the giant at 2:21 *does* have a function. It has a bearing on which of the three endings you get in Asellus's story. If you open it up and then backtrack to the room you were in at 0:24, a ray of light shines through the newly opened window and illuminates that shadowy door on the left side of the screen. You can then go inside the door to find a griffin, which you can slay in order to rescue Gina. This counts as a "human" or "good" choice. There are two such choices that determine the ending you get: 1) Did you save Gina? YES - Good/Human NO - Evil/Mystic 2) Did you make heavy use of MysticSword, MysticGlove, and MysticBoot? YES - Evil/Mystic NO - Good/Human If you did both good/human things, Asellus rejects her mystic blood, becomes human once again, and grows old as Gina's life partner. If you did both evil/mystic things, Asellus becomes full mystic, takes Orlouge's throne, seals his princesses in their coffins, and enslaves Gina as her own first princess. If you do one good/human thing and one evil/mystic thing, you get the ending you saw, in which Asellus remains a half-mystic yet maintains a distant, lifelong friendship with Gina. Anyway, enjoyable LP so far! I'm going to see how you handle some of the other scenarios next. Thanks for sharing it with us!
