ngl i cant see the marauders as anything but queerphobic (and lupin being bystander to their bullying). they bully a weird kid for existing, the one with untraditional features for a man (forced to wear his moms clothes due to poverty, feminine handwriting, long hair) also neurodivergent signs like not being good with people and special interest and greasy hair (yes im autistic and no this is not offensive to point out). and james being creep towards lily. but hey everyone is allowed to play with their fictional dolls as they please. if anyone it is severus and remus who would be queer, but very closeted. but i'll admit, i also read very fanon stories sometimes. i dont think its fair to sat the marauders fandom is mostly gen z when a lot of the OG millennial fans are still here and making fanworks. the older fans just don't like to interact much with this new iteration of the fandom due to disagreements over characterization and focus.

This is a lovely and creative video essay for a lovely and creative fandom. The fact that writers can integrate diversity into a (mostly) cracker white, cisgender heterosexual cast and spin a beautiful story with wit, humour, and elegance is truly astounding. Picking up one line of text, often less, and running with it to create a whole universe is a difficult task. I admire the creativity of writers who make fanfictions for the Marauder Era. that's olnly my opinion but I think that Wolfstar became popular as a great way for fans to say "hey girl I'm here I want to be represented too" and this, this is so special Wolfstar and Dorlene literally helped me understand myself as a girl lesbian and I couldn't be more grateful to this fandom, honestly I want JK to explode but everything this fandom does has changed my life a little bit and I will be forever grateful for this gay fandom pandemic ❤

Pela primeira vez eu me senti pertencente a alguma coisa,quando eu estava tendo um dia ruim eu só pegava os fones,colocava David Bowie(q só ouvi por causa da fanfic)e ia ler,era uma espécie de válvula de escape. E pensar q a pessoa q criou um universo tão maravilhoso quanto esse é uma pessoa tão horrível me deixa mto mal. Remus and tonx actually make MORE people like Wolfstar. Think about it like this, your lover just died and you are sad, he was a shell of himself and you are lonely. Then, his hot younger cousin who can shapeshift starts liking him. She reminds him of his dead lover before the war bc they are SO SIMILAR. They hook up, which he was resistant about at first, and he gets her pregnant. The thought is now they get married. This also sets up genderfluid Sirius bc why wouldn’t it? Also I may be biased bc I am in the marauders fandom and have hc and everything. I LOVE tonx/fluer/bill, it is great. I’ve seen everything and honestly Wolfstar is supreme. Tbh I feel like we don’t talk about the age gap enough tho. Like, Remus was 35-40 and she was fresh out of school 20-22. Nothing against it if he didn’t meet her when she was a little kid but there is a chance that he knew her when she was little and that is strange. She also was a bad ass character and I am mad that jk Rowling made one of her main traits be pining after Remus.

I've seen a lot of comments mentioning regulus + other death eaters so here's my take on this. in fics I love seeing people's interpretations of regulus' character and I usually like him even though he makes some *very* bad choices along the way. I however do NOT get the hype around barty and evan. they didn't get any kind of redemption. they were with voldemort until the end and didn't ever have the realization of oh this is kinda fucked up (or they just didn't care). I never understood how the fandom can babygirlify characters whose only known trait is basically evil 💀 at least regulus has complexity and his final act was a good one. finding a good wolfstar fic and seeing rosekiller in the tags is the most devastating experience istg some of these ships materialize out of thin air. I've actually read some jegulus fics too because I'm interested in their dynamic even though I would never want that in the canon universe and rosekiller is always shoved in there too like I'm supposed to care about genocidal maniacs who in canon were not complex they were just really fucking evil edit: I read modern au's with barty and evan and I take everything back I was unfamiliar with their game omg. canon rosekiller boooo fanon rosekiller yayyyy

i only just have gotten into the marauders fandom and this is so good. as someone who really held hp close to my heart as a kid, the marauders fandom has been a great outlet to me as an adult to rediscover the world i loved without the guilt of supporting JKR

Have literally never watched any of your videos before, but this is so well written I'm shocked you aren't famous or something. I have only recently joined the marauders fandom because I can totally relate to marauders sirius and my girlfriend is literally remus. I do love this fandom even though it has a horrible trend of changing things that I don't personally agree with. (for context i'm not a big jegulus fan) Wonderful Video.

I always got impression that sirius remus were friends because of james and because of sirius prank on snape their friendship gone downhills. That is just my opinion, but them being boyfriends just don't fit.

hot take but i dont really think that continuing to support a piece of media like harry potter that is owned by someone who has stated on multiple occasions that she doesn't appreciate or support queer/trans people is what a queer utopia is. why are we continuing to support someone who does not care about us? why are we expending our energy and our creativity on a fandom for an author that derides us? why do we continue to support and breathe life into characters where we have to hunt for representation by reading between the lines or make it up where it doesn't exist? this is my own experience as a desi person, so i cannot speak to all other desis, but i really dislike when people rewrite james potter's character as desi, since i don't want to have some kind of shoehorned representation in a story that didn't take the time to be explicit about it or give the representation the nuance and care it deserves. i--we--deserve more than that. there are so many really good fantasy series with queer and poc rep. is this REALLY the best that we can do after decades of this? like, sure, you can argue that the fanfic that people write is independent of whatever jk rowling did, but you cannot deny that there are people who continue to buy merch /her books and push content that either directly or indirectly support her some way. she's hated queer and trans people for ages just let her legacy die. idk i thought this video would dive deeper into those aspects but ig not. why are we still supporting a series that was never written for queer people in the first place? all of this just puts a really bad taste in my mouth and makes me sad.
