This was the first film I saw and the only reason we were taken to see it was because we were all keen riders.

Just imagine how CLOSE we were to picking up the newspaper way back then and reading about how the school was bombed and the horses killed, and seeing pictures of how it once WAS! 1963 was less than 20 years after the war, not one of the horses in the film are still with us to-day.

How come the actor playing Colonel Podolski, is not holding a german accent?? If there is anything that takes away a german war movie is an actor's who can stay in character!!!

Ah, the Disney version of the Nazi lost cause myth! The clean and noble (Austrian) Wehrmacht. Nary an innocent civilian or Jew to be m*rdered anywhere in sight. The 2% that didn't hysterically welcome Hitler with a rigid right arm. Kurt Waldheim and the modern American Confederates would be proud. I loved this movie when I was a little kid, before I starting seriously reading history.

Watch! Beautifully lovely return of horses to Austria , Europe. Sad to find famine after the war. Today, war pending, save and reuse stored possessions and keep food. Do not throw out to landfill unless needed. Domestic animals are loved, here in the USA. Hopefully the Lord God keeps stopping the pendulum that seems to riptide towards a watchful prewar time.

Why did Disney insist on having the same band with the same sounding music soundtrack on all of their movies?

When I checked this out at my nearest Local Library it was a fair Film that could've been better. This was in the summer of 90. Fast forward to 1994 I purchased this title from Suncoast video market at the Mall and I was a Satisfied customer because there were added footage to this film that made me Like it even better and much more to proudly own it on VHS.

I love horses. I had horses growing up. I rode bareback because saddles were expensive and money was tight. I was never that experienced ofan equestrian and my horses one of my horses was used to rope and brand cattle. i loved my horses. They were kind and gentle but they weren't quite as amazing as these beautiful talented horses.

To UA-cam: Are you going to delete my comments about horses too? Why not! You'd delete comments about loving puppies if a leftie made them. You are money grubbing fascists who don't give a damn about your customers. Shove your shadowbanning. You make me sick!

Chills and tears!! My parents took me to MSG at 6. That was 1967. I saw the real deal and will never forget it. I was in awe and quiet as a mouse. I continued to see them perform whenever they toured. The Spanish Riding School stopped world tours long ago. There was a major stable of the famed white(grey lol) stallions which toured but it wasn't the same. I'm happy to still have horses and ride many discipline but Dressage is my favorite. I think I've seen this film 20+ times. An amazing story which never gets old. Bless these horses and bless my husband for taking me to the school as a complete surprise while visiting my brother in Germany. He was in the AF. I def cried. Pass this movie on. It's history. Back when Walt controlled Disney was the best. Even though Hollywood still tried to make the Nahzeees look good.
