The Good Samaritan (Episode 17 of 50 New Testament Stories Everyone Should Know)
Переглядів 91Рік тому
The story of the Good Samaritan is so well-known throughout the world, surely it doesn't have anything new to teach us, right? Wrong! The shock of having Jesus choose a Samaritan as the hero of a teaching still reverberates all these centuries later. How far does the command to love go? Who really is my neighbor? What about "them?" 2,000 years later, we're still wrestling with the implications ...

Have you ever been caught up in a moment that you never wanted to leave? In today's episode, we look at just such a story. Not only did they witness Moses and Elijah speaking with Jesus, but they also heard the voice of God the Father speak to them from...

One thing is for certain: you are either in a storm, about to be in a storm, or just coming out of a storm. While the intensity varies, we are all familiar with the "storms of life." For some of them, you might be able to sail through on borrowed trust in yourself or others. But the big ones... you need someone stronger, wiser, and more loving than anyone you've ever known. These questions have been asked for thousands of years. While it is a huge question, as we discover in today's video, it is ultimately a good thing. Fun Day at Virginia Zoo | Norfolk, VA
Переглядів 375Рік тому
We're heading to the Virginia Zoo to explore what the animals are up to on this semi-rainy day. Our family loves taking trips to the zoo, and our local Virginia Zoo is great for us. It takes us about 2 hours to make it through, and that's usually about the limit for some of our younger crew. We did go through the reptile exhibit, but filming inside there can be difficult with the noise level. W...
Jesus Anointed by Sinful Woman (Episode 10 of 50 New Testament Stories Everyone Should Know)

#alabaster #jesus #bible #holiness We all know that Jesus eats with tax collectors and sinners, but did you know that he also ate with the ultra-religious crowd. While most Pharisees were pretty hard liners, some (like Simon) were open to giving Jesus a chance. But as we discover, it's hard to hear Jesus' message over our own self-righteousness. When holiness is the measure, we all miss the mar...
Quick Trip to Jerrassic Park in Virginia Beach | A Metal Dinosaur Park

In today's video, we head to Jerrassic Park, a metal dinosaur park tucked away in Virginia Beach near the Military Aviation Museum. It's a fun little walking park just off Princess Anne Rd in the Pungo area. Also, it's free! Just park under the pine trees on the other side of the driveway across from the park. It's not huge, so don't expect to make an entire day of it. Still, we had a great tim...
Jesus' Sermon on the Mount (Episode 9 of 50 New Testament Stories Everyone Should Know)

#sermononthemount #Jesus #bible Is Jesus' teaching still relevant? Honestly, that's not a hard question to answer. One need to look no further than the famous "Sermon on the Mount" to find the answer. This 2,000 year old sermon still hits, challenging our presumptions and the accepted values of the world around us. But we can all admit one thing - our life would be better if we lived by the wor...

It is so refreshing to hear someone championing Bethel instead of being critical! I love their openness to God and the way they have stewarded His Presence. They have been such a blessing to my own journey with Jesus. Thank you for sharing this!

Thank you for commenting. It's unfortunate that the critics are often the loudest people in the room. We've discovered that most of them usually don't have first-hand knowledge (attended a service, watched a full message, read a book). So glad you stopped by and shared your experience!

Great talk. You both made very valid points. My hubby and I haven't been intimate in probably close to 20 years. I have a disability and an autoimmune disease that prevents me from being touched. Do you have any suggestions for replacing what we can't have? We have a loving relationship with trust and respect. But I feel really bad because I can't give my husband what I know he wants and needs. ❤

Karen, thank you for the question. We are by no means medical professionals or sex therapists so this really comes from more of a pastoral place of helping people relationally within a marriage. I would say that while physical intimacy hasn't been possible for a long time, there is still an emotional intimacy and physical attraction between the two of you. I am so sorry that you and your husband have had to walk that difficult journey but it sounds like you all have a wonderful and devoted relationship. Within a marriage there is freedom to explore intimate connection in whatever creative ways you find work for you, provided they display honor, respect and love for both husband and wife. Our sexuality within the union of marriage is so much more than merely our bodies connecting, it is also a soul connection, a spiritual connection. I would suggest exploring intimate conversations together, finding a special place, like the bedroom, that you can share with each other through conversation the intimate thoughts and affection you feel for one another. It may feel awkward or strange at first but these things are always that way in the beginning. I believe you could truly connect even through your words. We pray that you're able to find a special kind of intimacy together, even if it doesn't look like most.

There are several elephants in the room here. Woman rapidly loose the ability to pare bond and stay in committed long term relationships as the become sexually active with multiple partners and on top of that woman now have unrealistic expectations in a relationship and its too easy for them to bail out of a marriage and get cash and prizes that were earned and owned by their husband. For the man these days there is no up side to marriage as most woman are slogged out 304's fast approaching the wall when they think about marriage today loaded down with baggage from past relationships and one night stands with a sense of entitlement that is out of this world. 70% of them are going to walk out of the marriage and asset strip the guy and rope him into child-support for 18 to 20 year and alomoney for the rest of his life. No sane mane would sigh a contract like that. This bullsh-t has been going on for 50 or 60 years and man have finaly woken up..
