I prefer the I-Joist over the truss joist. Truss joist squeak.
Joists. Not Joices.
Steel beam across center
Yes steel beam
Looks awesome... But can you explain why you didn't square and sheet walls before the roof went on. Not criticizing, just want a different perspective. And maybe a more productive approach
nice work my friend, love from Dubai.soon i will be red seal certification inshaAllah. ❤
Do you have plans for this?? I am canadian aswell and have a build coming up! Thanks
How far from the front wall did you place your lift?
Whats your wall hight? Love the setup man
Thanks man appreciate it. It is about 13ft at the top of walls then with the vaulted/cathedral it is about 17ft peak
What height is your garage
13ft walls with the conrete block to top and then about 17ft in the centre with the vaulted ceiling.
How can i apply as an electrician in canada?
Sorry I am not an electrician I am a Automotive Technician I just did my own wiring for my shop I built. But like becoming an Automotive Technician you have to apply to be an Apprentice at a company it is a very in high deman field as most trades are in Canada at this time. You will have to attend trade school where you go to school while working or challenge the Red Seal Test. Best of luck
Did you mount the posts in the center of the garage or more towards the back wall of your garage?
More towards the back wall normally when you pull cars in the post on hoist in inlime with driver seat in the vehicle. Mine is 9ft from back wall and 13ft from my door opening at rear. I have block with my sill plate on it so lost some sq footage.
You sir have the dream set up 😮
Appreciate that definitely was my dream come true to complete this build.
Can bring a truck in and work comfortably with the depth?
If I was to do it again, I would have gone with 30 feet deep given the minor extra cost I would have encountered during the build. I can work on a chevy 2500 but it is a little tight cant really walk around the back of it and the front 3ft from front of truck. If your able if do 30x30 atleast be much more comfortable especially if installing a hoist.
@@JBMOTORSMORE I really love the lay out and what you did with the space, thx very much for getting back to me. Would you have opted for 24x30 or 20x30 to remain inside of 600 sqft?
@@haydenmartell3243 Thanks man I really worked hard on it. I would still have likely gone 24x24 over the 20x30 if you have to stay within 600sq ft. If your only doing 1 door and you want to centre your hoist then 20x30 be good for sure I wanted the option of the having the flat bay aswell if I had a vehicle stuck on the hoist I can still pull another car in the flat bay. The extra length would be way better for pulling motors aswell gives you the room for a motor puller to fit in and roll back out. Cars and suv fit no problem the biggest think is full sized trucks for length. Best of luck with your build
I saw you ran 3 or 4 12/2 or 14/2 cables in same route. If the length is more than 60cm then derating factor 0.8 or 0.7 applies which means 12/2 cable ampacity becomes 20×0.7=14 Amps not 20.
Really good knowledge you have.
Hlo sir i am from India and i also electrician and i have 8 year experience I want come to Canada
The wire arrangement is almost correct But there are some flaws, it seems to get rid of the work
how talkk are your ceilings
It is 13ft to wall top plate and then about 17ft to peak.
What was the cost for the build without the loft just to frame outside
Congratulations nice set up
Where is the switch button? On the other hand, work in Canada is easier than in Saudi Arabia.
What a great sound👍
Nice video sir have a look on my channel I am also tech utuber of Electrical engineering
I'm noticing that there is a code violation on your boxes. There needs to be a bit of extra wire (can't recall but it's about a fist loop worth) outside each box for future service/repair, where it looks like your going straight into the box. If you ever need to cut the wire inside the box, there needs to be some extra to pull into the box without having to rerun a new line. Otherwise it looks like a pretty good job from what I see.
@God Trojan Yup just pulled out my old 2012 code book and it's there. 12-510(4). That's exactly the rule I was talking about in the CEC. Thanks for finding and mentioning. It has a triangle on it too so it would have been implemented for that year as a "new" rule.
Getting ready to do exactly same thing as to my own! I'd appreciate little more information about it!! How far back did you stretch? Are you able to stretch only what is needed for lowering link? Lastly can I use lowering link with out stretch kit?
Hi stretch kit is 5" long and lowering link was 4.5". When stretched it makes the bike rise up in the centre by a good 2" or so and seemed unstable like very forward seated. The lowering link 4.5" likely could not be installed without the stretch kit bike would be very close to ground. My tidy tail kit with the lowering link and stretch my license plate would rub periodically on thing to consider as well. Have fun loved my little z125 sold it last year.
@@JBMOTORSMORE Thx for the reply! The lowering link is a 2.5 wasn't sure if I could avoid stretching! Some say yes and some no!!! Depends what style of Link!! Mine is just for fun and I've a Honda ruckus too! Great little scooter! In town mostly... perhaps you can look at another bike to fix up? You would make bike lovers around your area jealous
Had one more question for you! Can I keep my fender after lowering link! I'm installing 2.5 Link on my Kawasaki zpro! Thx John
Great Video JB. I'm an electrician in the UK looking to move to Canada so it's great to see how things are done over there. Definitely slightly different to how we do things here in the UK. Am I right in thinking you operate in 120V?
Thank you really enjoyed doing it very rewarding. Yes our normal Voltage is 120v. Also have 240v for large appliances and welders. Hope you moves.goes well if coming to Canada my grandfather was from Scotland still have family there. Would love to visit one day.
Thank you! I'll keep you posted. I've been round most of the Highlands of Scotland it's truely a beautiful place
How tall is the shop? Wall height and peak height?
13Ft to top plate of the walls. 17ft to Centre peak.
Hello sir, where do you live? Just want to confirm these codes are relevant to Alberta. Thank you
Ontario not sure if code in alberta is consistent sorry.
Did you need to insulate the hot black wires ends in your main panel for the inspection or just keep them away from the breakers
I live in Ontario and cannot find that in the guide to the code book
If you referring to the Merits i put on the Hot wires in panel. If so I do not think it was code. I just did it for my own peace of mind. My panel was already hot with one breaker and outlet installed by the electrician who installed my panel and the overhead mast. I just wanted to be safe. With the rough in inspection the only thing I read was the wires needed to be terminated at recepticle boxes with grounds connected within every box. Thanks for the Comment and view 👍
Ok thanks, I couldn’t see them in the video. I think I’ll put some on temporarily as well then
What are the dimensions on the loft? Garage looks great!
Thanks alot! 👍 It is about 10x10. Cheers!
door garage dimension
10'Hx9'W right-side and 10'x10' Left door hoist side. Height in centre is around 16" to centre cathedral walls are 12' on block so 12'6" Doors are steel craft thermo inuslated doors.
heigth inside ?
hi, great video, are you not required to put drill plates when piercing a stud with electrical wires?
All I could find in reference was that it had to be minimum 5/8" from face of the stud. I was then able to insulate and vapour barrier after this inspection was done. This video was after my passed rough in. The next visit was to check the outlets wired up and finished and covered siding was on and all after insulation inspection as well.
What size garage doors
10ftx10ft and 9ftwx10fth 1-3/4" insulated r16. They are steel craft thermo doors.
The receptacle by the panel is a 15 amp receptacle on a 20 amp breaker ? Not code 😕
Honestly I did not check the receptacle after he installed it. He said it was 20amp receptacle. I found it weird it not being the same as the ones I purchased. The inspector came separately from my work to approve that.
Hello everyone. I do sculpting. nice to meet you. I wish you all the best of luck.❤❤
WOW 17K VIEW THANKS SO MUCH!! FUTURE HOUSE BUILD COMING SOON STAY TUNED!
good job

Hey bud. Can you please tell me how high your pivot rack sits above the cargo bed? I know with the trunk you have, it may not be an exact measurement. Big ball park would be appreciated. I want to know if I can fit a 16” tall gas can under it before purchasing the rack. Thanks.
Hey sorry man was trying to get it for you just got the measurement tonight been building my shop and its my brother's machine was there tonight rough is 15/16" he has the link gas can from his sled in the trunk I think I will be getting the same can he loves the spare carrier
@@JBMOTORSMORE alright thanks so much man. Really appreciate that. 16” will work. Thanks so much!
Hey brother. How much room is there between the cargo bed and the bottom of the pivot rack? Can you get me a measurement please?
How tall are the walls and how tall is it at the peek
Thank for watching they are 12.5 ft to top plate from floor and 14.5 ft in the peak
If it's 24'×24' and the top of the walls are 12.5 feet with a 4/12 pitch. Wouldn't that make the height 16.5 feet at the peak?
That sounds closer I did a rough guess from the top of my 2 post lift. It is 2x6x12 with double plate top single bottom so 4.5"and block 8" one course. So closer to 13 ft wall height. And I'll take exact measurements and put them in description tomorrow
Update coming Soon Thanks for watching almost finished!!
Thanks for watching more to come!
