Saves about 15s if done optimally (I got it 2nd try on video) Throw/Dump Bugs at a precise timing. If Bugs crashes onto the wall, you're too fast. If you fail another way, maybe you were too slow, or had a bad angle or something else. Everything isn't fully understood about this new king of OoB. Maybe it can be used in some other levels. Be careful, it's not easy, and you might end up killing Taz!

Thanks to the new trick on the Moon Valley boss, here is the first sub 29 time of this category. The doubles save about 35s, and this run is 37s faster than previous WR, so with a good fight it would have been WR even without that =D

About 3s faster than the previous one, but also more consistent! Do a spin with Taz toward the door, then a spin jump. As soon as you've start the spin jump, switch to Bugs and hold up left. Bugs must be close to the genie. A good visual clue is the vases: try to bring Bugs between them, just in the middle.

If you have 2 warp wistles use the first one to get to the warp world and while your in warp world use the second warp Wistle and you will immediately teleport to world 8
This trick is used in "any% (no wrong warp)" category. It is slower than this glitch

Yeah, whistles are very well hidden. I think I read some guide as a kid to know about them, it's very unlikely I would have found any of the three whistles without help ^^

Well, I found this game on a game convention with a friend, and as we are speedrunners, we decided to give it a try, and convinced a few people to try speedrunning it. But besides that, no, I don't think anyone else runs the game ^^ On a sidenote: I agree, the music is nice!

Holy shit, Ive been playing this game since its original release, when he didn't use the 2nd warp whistle in the tube level selection and went to world 7, I had absolutely no clue where this was then going.

That's a known thing. If you use warp whistle while still in a warp zone, you get to the world 8. Still it's slower than this glitch

I want to say that a leaf NEVER comes out of that ?-block in the 1st castle of world 1. It's ALWAYS a flower. That's why everybody avoids it. Something's wrong here.

does it work in snes version?
Well, I'm not sure, but I don't think it does. For it to work, the bug allowing you to enter the pipe from the side must not have been patched. But most importantly, all the setup aims to set specific memory values to be understood by the NES to be "trigger the end of the game". The Snes version (obviously) runs on a Snes, which is a different machine, with a different processor, and a different set of instructions. It seems unlikely to me that it would still work, at least this way. There may be a variant to adapt all that to a Snes architecture

That is pathetic and cheap. Two warp whistles and a bug leading to a false ending without even fighting Bowser. Am I supposed to be impressed with your ability to use whatever means necessary--official or unofficial--to skip 98% of a game's levels and just skip directly to the ending sequence?

Yes you should because figuring out the fastest possible way to beat a game via executing ACE with damn turtle shells is more impressive than simply playing a game how it was designed. This isn't a "fight bowser run", this is a speed run

How to do it: 1. Get raccoon leaf 2. Warp to World 7 3. Enter 7-1 4. Find 3 piranha plants and tail whip them to free up memory 5. Set koopas in x positions 20, E3, 8F 6. Glitch into a pipe 7. Hit an invisible note block at screen 19 You’re (probably) at the end of the game, good job.

Came here because of TerminalMontage... I knew i was missing something when they spoofed the glitch i've never seen before lool
When my sister was 14 she spent the entire summer grinding through this game and when she got world 7 level 1 she tried doing the red cube glitch and ive never seen someone in more agony and frustration than when she tried to do that. She spent a week trying and theb just gave up and beat it legit.

In 1993, it took me 4 hours to complete this game with regular nes machine hooked to tv. This guy can do it in 4 min.
