Avlabari Metro station – Tbilisi.
Tbilisi is one of the oldest cities in the world. It was founded in the fifth century, but archaeological excavations show that its territory was inhabited six thousand years ago.
Avlabari metro station, formerly ,,26 Komissarov" is a Tbilisi metro station. It was opened on November 6, 1967.
It is located in the Avlabari district of the same name, one of the oldest districts of Tbilisi. The station is on the Akhmeteli-Varketili line. Avlabari Deep-level pylon station. The depth is 54 meters. The platform length is 102 meters.
Today, the Tbilisi Metro has only 23 stations, which are located on two lines: ,,Akhmeteli Theater” - ,,Varketili” and the Saburtalo line. 21 stations are underground, and two are on the surface.
In Tbilisi, in the old Avlabari district, a monument to the heroes of the cult film Mimino (Falcon) was erected. The author of the monument is the famous sculptor Zurab Tsereteli. The monument consists of bronze figures of the legendary heroes of the film Mimino - pilot Valiko Mizandari (whose role was played in the film by Vakhtang Kikabidze), Frunzik Mkrtchyan, Yevgeny Leonov and the director of the film - Georgy Danelia.
