Start adding Class A foam (PFAS free) to the water the fire dept uses to improve the fire suppression capability of water by as much as 20 times that of water. The fuels that burn in the WIU are hydrophobic (water hating) and repel water at a molecular level. Surfactant is the active ingredient in firefighting foam that lowers the high surface tension of water so it can penatrate beneth the surface of burning materials. Underwriters Labratory informs us that only 5% to 10% of water applied to a fire contributes to extinguishment. The remaining 90% of water is runoff and contributes nothing to the extinguishment of the fire. Fireighting foam costs much, much less than the cost of lives lost and properties burned. Thank you to all the firefighters and responders fighting this fire and saving lives. It sounds like some people are playing the blame game because their houses burned. That really sucks and I’m so sorry for them. I can only imagine what they’re experiencing. However, every firefighter I’ve ever known wants nothing more than to saves lives and property. These are WILDfires-uncontrollable beasts. We CHOOSE to live in this terrain and therefore must accept the inherent risks. Despite our best preparation efforts, we may lose our tangible assets but in the end it’s truly most important to save lives. The firefighters were able to do that and we should all be grateful for that. I always say “pick your disaster“ because every place has them. WE have wildfires and earthquakes. Perhaps we ALL need to occasionally reevaluate where we live and what disasters we are willing to tolerate. This location isn’t for everyone. I pray for the healing and recovery of all those affected by the Mountain Fire.

Thank you so much for all the heroic efforts of the first responders, fire crews and all who helped and are still fighting this event. You were battling the impossible and most of the public understands that. You have done an incredible job. We appreciate all that you do more than you know.❤

Hope VCFD Station No. 56 will have to order the Ram 5500 or Ford F550 Patrol Unit, 56. It has to replace the old 2008 Ford F550.

Thank you so very much for recording the ceremony, our family was not able to attend this year to honor the memory of our son, brother, father, uncle VCFC Firefighter Steven A. Gregory, so we very much appreciate the ability to participate in this manner. Gone, but not forgotten....the Gregory family.

For a quick way to knock out grease fire, you can use Salt. It will be messy cleanup after the fire is extinguished, but it is better than waiting on the fire department. I live near an area where a fire department services 4 or 5 small communities for both EMT & Fire calls. And all do double duty, & if they were dispatched to another area. it may take longer before they got to me. I have extinguisher, but for the ones that do not, this is another method while you are waiting for the Fire department to get to you.

Hello, Your Firefighter are WONDERFUL ! You have been sooo nice & kind and - or course, helpful....my hubby was on home hospice & required your strong muscles a couple of times...he passed Feb. 25th ...your kindness was invaluable. Love my VCFD firefighters/paramedics....
