Black & GREY tank solution we mix ourselves!! Cheaper ++ effective!
Thanks to the knowledgeable folks at KLEEN TANK who are professional mobile black and grey tank power washers for this "do it yourself" solution!
We watched many videos by fellow RVers as well as the Kleen Tank folks themselves. At national rallies we have attended they have been there and even handed out samples of this homemade solution anyone can make up!
We make it up ourselves and have saved tons of $$ from other commercial products and it is working great in our BLACK AND GREY tanks!
Especially as full time RVers we are doing a lot more tank dumping year round now. This solution is so easy and works great!
PS: we did find we had to order the Calgon Ageless BATH BEADS online from Amazon. we ordered 6 containers in a bilk buy which was cheaper. Our local stores did not carry this particular kind of Calgon beads-- we are not sure if any other brand or type of Calgon would work as well. We trust the Kleen Tanks folks who say to use the specific type we show in this video!

UTAH-Canyonlands National Park Day Trip

Amazing scenery, easy short overlook walks and finally a Lizard that stood still for me to take his (?) photo! Enjoy! PS- Canyonlands is not pet friendly. pets are not allowed on hikes, in visitor centers, on overlook sidewalks or trails. They can be in your car, on leash at parking lots or paved pull offs only.

Arches National Park-the 🔥 Furnace Overlook trail, June 2024-The Pewter Palace
Переглядів 15Місяць тому
We had hoped to do more trails today but by 10 AM it was over 90° in bright sun. and it's the first week in June! Reminder to all that to enter Arches NP you must purchase a timed entry pass in advance. The cost in 2024 was only $2, and that's fine and works to stagger guests. We arrived to the park at 9:15 and there were only 4 cars in front of us. The 🔥 Furnace main long trail requires a perm...

New Curtains and privacy hack for our Avion's kitchen! All for less than $10!!

We wanted a new more modern look for our kitchen. We found 4 panels of this great curtain at a local Goodwill Thrift store when visiting family in Glendale AZ recently. The panels were long enough to get the front windows and valance over dinette. I don't have a sewing machine onboard so all were handsewn hems. I used the original top rod pocket and just used Silver tone clip rings for tops and...
Rock Guard Support Arms and Hardware- Great Upgrade!
Переглядів 744 місяці тому
We were so pleased with the new support arms and travel latch hardware for our rear rock guard we decided to work on our front rock guard. Both rockguards are original Avion rock guards but not original to our 1987 32S model. We reinforced the top of both of them and had the professionally recoated/painted. bBe sure to watch the several videos on the rear guard project we did in March 2024. The...

The final of 4 short videos on how wr support our rehab'd rear rock guard on our 1987 Avion, 32s with rear bedroom. This is why we love the 32S model so much! Check out this panoramic view! These types of support arms can be made (and we suggest them) for front window rock guards too! They take a lot of the pressure off your window frame!
PT 3 Rear Rock Guard Project- new travel latch system'eady to make!
Переглядів 395 місяців тому
This is PT 3, where we fabricated a great way to latch and secure the bottom of our rear rock guard for travel. Note- it is not typical to have a rock guard on the rear of an Avion, though few owners, including us, have done this. We had salvaged an original rock guard from a wrecked Avion, added extra repairs along the top hinge area, and then had it professionally painted with truck bed liner...

This is part 3 of 3 videos on our rear rock Guard project On this video we show how we creates bottom travel latches to secure the rock Guard during travel or storms. These guards have been known to slide sideways or even blow off their track in high wi...

It is awesome. I love it. The previous owner of our Avion had it put in. Only downside is that the Corian weighs a ton which adds to the overall weight of our trailer a lot. We have had to make adjustments because of that as to how to distribute the weight correctly in the trailer.

Great suggestion. I think RV Trip Wizard was listening to you because in the later releases of the product they've added three icons on the bottom right of the screen, one of which resembles a road. If you ckick and drag that icon onto your map at the intersection of where your intended gas station is located, the program will pop up a second Google Streets view of the gas station location, from which you can determine if getting in and out will work with your rig.

Thanks! Yes, have been game changers! No more cringing trying to get into parking lots, gas stations etc. We are 9.5 inches higher than normal. Before we only had 8.5 inch ground clearance. What it also has helped with is we can back into campsites and go right over the curb stop back, log or even metal fire pits that some campgrounds have at the rear of their sites. We have been able to get into sites that are only 25 ft long with our 32 ft long rig!!! LOL

Nice October views. I live in Fresno, so Yosemite is a day trip for me and I have visited more than 200 times in my life (I'm 65) and it's still not enough. Glacier Point is, IMHO, the best easily accessible viewpoint in the world. A couple points: -- Glacier Point is at an elevation of about 7,200 ft, not "over 9k feet." You have to be near Tioga Pass to be on a road in Yosemite that exceeds an elevation of 9,000 feet. -- During the summer from the mid-1970s through 2019, different California-based astronomy clubs would set up telescopes in the amphitheater (to your right when you were looking a Half Dome) for public star parties. The typical star party covered Friday and Saturday nights, plus Sunday on Labor Day weekend. My club (Central Valley Astronomers) has participated since the early 1980s. I joined the club in 2000 and I participated in 16 of the 20 club star parties at Glacier Point from 2000 to 2019. The pandemic put a hold on these events and they haven't restarted yet. We hope 2024 will be the year.

I did the ALCAN twice in the early 90's while in the army. I was stationed at Ft. Wainwright in Fairbanks for 3 years. One of my dreams is to do the trip again, with my wife and our RV. We currently own a Grand Design Imagine 2670MK. This road looks like it would be a very nice adventure. Safe travels. When you get to Fairbanks, if Chena Hot Springs is not on your agenda, I highly suggest you go. It's about 60 miles from Fairbanks and the springs are magical. Enjoy your trip.

Hi Earl! Thanks so much for your comments. We DID go up to Chena Hot Springs. We enjoyed it but have to say we liked Liard Hot Springs in BC a lot better. Chena water was too hot and the pond seems contrived and man made versus Liard which is 100% natural. The Ice Museum at chena was fun to see!
