Nice trip, brings back memories😁
1.40ish I take it you didn't run that drop looked alright on video
Yeah didn’t run that one, it probably would’ve went ok, it was just mega under cut on the right. Whole river was too lol
Where is this
Pretty much through the centre of Newcastle. fun place : )
@@connorproud yeah looks really good what level did you hit it !
@ super sweet! 👌 this was at 0.75 on the gauge
Nice one... Water quality looked a bit iffy though, dont drink the water😂
Guinness water.. Didn’t smell great either 😬
Well done. Did not think the drop was deep enough in the Dene waterfall.
Thank you! : ) It seems pretty deep.. wouldn’t like to test it though ahah
Is the first drop a weir?
@dillonfaulkner yeah! Not so bad a one I don’t think though.. still best not to plug it ahah
@@connorproudlooks like the perfect drop! :)
Nice one. Did you get the rest of the river, or do the delights of the rest still await. It's all very nice.
Great video 👌 C1 paddler is awesome too
Cheers mate! : )
Bit surprised your not wearing anything to protect your knuckles
Crash, bang, wallop 😂 scary fun at the top though. Nice one!!
Nice one😂
you know it’s about to get real, when it is done in a Topolino 🔥
Do love getting some time in it! ❤️
Great fun, but needed a bit more water😂
Next time Bob : D
Nice video, it's been a long time since I last ran that
Cheers mate! ‘Twas nice! That main section had a tree though : (
Looks amazing
Enjoyed watching this mate. Hoping to get it done in the next few weeks.
Cheers mate! Its a nice run Could maybe do with more water, I’d be happy pushing it on the upper end, there is a couple holes that could be sticky though. Only thing is there’s a tree in the main section.. you could maybe run it on the left but it kinda pushes you to the right! You can inspect from the road though if you get it in higher water.
What a super river!!
well done Conner epic level that.
Cheers Mate : )
Nice one!! I don't recognise any of that river at those levels😂
Cheers Bob! took the playboat out the next day but levels had dropped off so much : (
nice looking river could do with a tab more juice
Absolutely! This was super low : /
Looks fun - which river?
Sprint mate : )
Great vid, cheers
Thank you! No probs : )
Just wondering did you give it the grade 4 yourself as a quick search says 4 and 5. Good paddling either way
@@dstanley7333 There’s another section above that’s a 5, I think it’s called “sprint upper falls” or something, I’m just going off the guidebooks grade. Cheers mate! : )
What? No Stainforth foss???
No : ( does it go good?
Trying to work out if I did that part, was low when I paddled the Kent .
The Kent is such a strange one for sections I can never remember where they are. Haha
@@connorproud I need to go back again
@@stuartreedsadventuresDrop me a message next time your down I’ll join ya : )
@@connorproud will do 🤟🤟🤟
I'd swim that :p
😆
Nice video
Cheers mate! Got some good lighting this time : )
Dude! All your river videos are such a great resource. Keep it up!
Cheers mate ! Really appreciate that ! I’m enjoying slowly ticking through sections when i can, hopefully some others get some use out of these too. It’s amazing how much more comfortable on a river you are if you know what stuff looks like : D
@@connorproud absolutely. Obviously there will be changes in water-level, and over time sections change, but good effort on creating a little bit of an online catalogue of rivers. So many guidebooks are so far out of date they are practically pointless!
I did think that I should probably include water levels, but i keep forgetting them by the time i get home 😅 it is a shame how little there is about some runs on here, i feel like a lot is lost in Vimeo too though : (
Excellent, looks fairly challenging at that level, especially if you dont know the river well
Cheers mate ! : ) liked this one a lot actually
nice run! stoked to see the canoe 🔥
Thanks!! It’s crazy seeing seeing the stuff he’s totally fine with handling in the canoe : D
A classic boat for classic paddlers😂 suitable for kids apparently...kids of all ages!!
It looks like a UfO! 🤣 I quite like it..
As long as you stay in the kayaks, the pirahna should leave you alone.
the river is so different when high... the rocks in the slots were completely covered when I ran it
I’m looking forward to catching it much higher, this is massively low bar on a scrape. What was the slot like it’s self? Did you run left, and was there a shelf drop?
@@connorproud ua-cam.com/video/3aGKfADsx1k/v-deo.html (1 minute into the video is the slot to compare) My mate ran it off the shelf and into the slot (cool line to watch) whilst I used momentum and just ran the slot on the right (didn't really see it until committed to the line!)
Some nice paddling! And, what are your thoughts about the boat?
Cheers : ) I really like it! Really smooth, the tails really nice for boofs, carry’s speed well too! Paddles like a rounder version of the spade full house.
where about on the Ribble was that? was the river in spate?
This was a short section of Helwith bridge to Settle If I remember correctly.. at about 0.5 on the guage, so like a bottom med
Great to see this
That alternate line at the start looks tight! Haha, good stuff.
Looks worse from up top on the bridge! 😬 Cheers mate : )
Gets tight in there, nice lines, thanks for the upload
Cheers mate, appreciate it! : )
Nice little video. What's your thoughts about Nymph, is it a good boat? Is there much you'd change? I'm currently considering of buying one
I liked it! Just as capable as any one of the more expensive half slices out. Similar to a sort of mix between the ripper 2 and a rewind. Very smooth feeling on the water, but kinda heavy feeling too (good and a bad thing) There is a sense of you get what you pay for, handles and metalwork are a cheap chrome (bit rattley), not sure about the plastic but I’m sure it’ll last regular abuse so long as you’re not ragging it around. I think it’s well worth a punt for the price if you’re after something cheap (it’s cheaper than used now ha) Definitely try one out first though for yourself. Boats paddle similar but not exact person to person : )
@@connorproud thanks for sharing this. Your review is much appreciated 👍
@@mr.kisterco.6204 no bother at all, anytime : )
pretty cool I live around 5 mins away from here :)
Thank you! A nice place to live :)
Nice boat😂😂
🤣🤣 I like it honestly! You would’ve too I’m sure ;)
Impressive skills!!
Cheers mate! 😀
Such a great boat!
congrats on the world champs. I'll get round to watching it at some point.
Cheers mate, appreciate it! 🙂
@connorproud you looked ace, the feature looked a bit friendlier than the last place they did it too. That American lads another level though, he throws it around like a playboat.
Cheers 😁, I like plattling a lot actually! But yeah definitely on something else 🤯
Rio Perfeito muito Bonito
Olá amigos , em qual pais foi esta remada ?
Olá, isto foi no Lake District, em Inglaterra : )
Nice kayak !
Half my videos are of stolen boats 🤣
What a nice creek :)
Nice one Connor. That beck was a good find of yours a fun section on a very remote Teesdale Beck . I`d be amazed if its been run before. Thaks for the invite to run it with you, it was a fun!
Cheers for having it with me! I enjoyed it, I’m sure the future will hold more in line 🙏 More than happy for long walks when I sort this hip out! Haha
💞Wow💛💗💗💗💗💗💗
Nice one, interesting line on the lead into the big fall😁
Cheat skip the entry bit 😂 I did the falls 3 times to try clean up the drop, but each was worse than the last.
That entry bend has a pin potential at low water, you side stepped it with that line in the video. Nice!
Clean line on lower Kisdon, that's not easy to pull off! Ths is the low side of medium if anything, you don't want to run the boof line on Rainby any lower than that. Rainby boof vs rainby slide line is the border between medium and low (about 1m, 1.1m on the gauge).
Cheers mate! 😃 Appreciate this beta! I think we got on ~1.16 but I’m not sure if the gauge wasn’t updating or if it was just dropping so much. Is there a specific spot to look for on Rainby to gauge this? We deliberated the boof for a little while..
@@connorproud The online gauge is usually slow to update, there's the physical gauge under the bridge, but we always just kind of look at Rainby and how well-defined the lip is. If it looks like you're gonna touch rock on the lip, it might be time to think about the slide line (under 1.0m, maybe even as low as 0.9) - not an exact science, but you want the landing to be soft, I've at least one friend break their back on a bad landing off Rainby, and you can't get away with plugging too hard as it's not that deep.
@@Max.Topp-Mugglestone Ah that makes sense, Id only ever ran the slide side up until this point (only a handful of times), I had heard that the fall has been pretty brutal at times. Cheers for messaging, genuinely much appreciated 😁
