Just found a brand new MTR at the gun shop, showed my daughter some pictures and shes getting all clucky. It certainly has the specs to be a great rifle, and yours is after 10-15000 rounds still going well. I think I'll be getting my PTA shortly and getting a new gun. Thanks for the vid, always good to get some honest reviews from some ordinary blokes.
@antonioduarte2795 I have a mate with a new/old one. Bugger won't sell it. They are truly awesome.
i was unscrewing it and one of them broke any idea how to get it out?

@@CZ49 Never with firearms. Extremely hot out there.
Actually! Pretty fd up thing to say. 47+ degrees that day, how's your air-conditioning going champ? We are out in some of the harshest country in Australia. But to think that is shocking to us.
1550 each?
Hi mate! Aussie power sports really looked after us on this one they had a demo set and hooked us up with a great discount those guys are legends!
I’m not sure if your cutting an extremely hard wood with a dull chain or that saw is not properly tuned or not properly fuelled? Because you would think that saw would pull better than that.
Howdy its a brand new stihl .404 full house chain on a 36” bar cutting green hardwood. Like any saw it could benefit from a good hand filed chain and touch up on the rakers. And being a new saw it wasn’t run in at this stage. Definitely a beast but more suited to slabbing than anything else…
@kdrweld8518 Steveo here. Mate, this was the first run of the 881 Magnum. Learnt a lot. The saw pulled plenty hard enough, but for green hardwood, it was a bit of work. Hopefully, you are in Canada or the US. That way, you have no idea how hard the timbers are here. But if you are in Australia, feel free to grab a new 881 Magnum and try it out. That way, you can also figure shit out the way we do. Merry Christmas
You can see how easily the twills got through that muck! Nice easy motoring without having to rev the guts out of the machine.
Very true! 👍
What is the update?? Do you have a review after 2yrs? Any new sponsors too?
@@robertwilson1827 Sure do, in the process of filming it, but the weather here is not great atm.

Greetings from 🇺🇸. Just been researching for a new utv and from your review and several others who regularly beat on their machines in the real world, I just took delivery of my new Viking today 😁 Looks like it’s going to be a great edition to the farm.

I could do that in my sleep. Grew up using Dad's. Inherited my Grandfather's. My when my late son was a little boy he called it 'The Chop Chop' because running on idle it goes 'chop chop chop chop chop'. Gotta love a two stroke.
Amazing how old engines, etc, always bring back valuable memories.

Love the setup, one thing that really seems left out. A good comfortable shooting rest is aways an issue with ATV's. Ive just installed the Smartrest on my Grizzly quad after seeing it in action on my buddies Rhino. Its been a long drawn out experience for me finding a secure rest that also holds the gun securely. I think the Smartrest is a must have for every ATV, quad. They are that good.
Thanks, mate. We have tried many rests, including the smart rest, but all have failed. This is 100% the reason we went for the fold up windscreen from @aussiepowersports.com.au The wind deflector on the bottom is fixed, and for our Yamaha, Viking is the perfect height. The smart rest has its place, but it is definitely not where we shoot. Too dusty, too corrogated, and may I mention the driver? " total nut case". 🤫🤫 Cheers Steveo
I wish the 400 had a better oiler. Other than that it’s a perfectly handy small and light saw for just about everything. But they can’t make the perfect one saw they always want to force you into getting a big saw small saw combo 😭
I reckon theres no such thing as too many saws 😝 apparently you can swap the 400 oiler for the 462 then should be good to run bigger bars 👍
Pig!! I thought the biggest destructive pest in "Straya" was humans. Afterall, they brought camels, rabbits, pigs, donkeys, goats, cats, dogs foxes, cane toads, lion fish, privet hedges, lantana, and some things I have forgotten.

My T3 Stainless Varmint is from 2005, shot maybe 50 rounds and one plastic backpiece for the bolt exchanged to metal as it broke of old age in the safe. Nice to know that I don't have to buy a new gun soon 🤭😂.

Hi mark! I believe ruger still do left handed, sako too but they expensive rifles! Are you based in australia?
Yeah mate vic the greatest state
I own one, and it is a fantastic Rifle. Thanks for the great Videos mate.
@garrymacantanaiste575 thanks for tuning in, we appreciate your support. It's definitely a great rifle and well worth the money.
How, you guys can't have guns. I'm so confused.
You reckon this would make a good platform for longish range? Just did some of that in the States and really liked it. I know 223 doesn't stretch out really far but be might be a cost effective way to get back into shooting.
What distance are you thinking?
@@southernstarreview I was thinking maybe 1000m max. Not even sure where I could shoot that far to be honest. I can shoot out to about 300m max at ranges anywhere near me. All the dudes in the States are telling me to go 300 Winmag or 338 Lapua but they all shoot out over 1000 yards and have plenty of places to do it. To me it makes more sense to go 223 or 308.
@@FoxMcScrooge 1000m is definitely beyond .223

Hey mate. Great video! I’ve just bought a 2015 MQ and just wondering if you know if they have a smart alternator in them? Did you have to run a wire from your ignition for the DCDC charger?
Hi mate. Sorry for the late reply nah the triton has a fixed voltage alternator. Happy travels!
What idiot uses a power tool such as this with only flip flops on his feet? From looking at other comments I can see I am not the only one that has pointed this out.
Hey mate have u been able to compare the buggy to a polaris or cfmoto? Just asking cause I'm looking at buying something soon
@sharkyshepo8167 We have, but haven't put the video out. All buggies have their floors and benefits. But, if I were buying another buggy for hunting, I would still go Yamaha Viking. They built so tough, and as you see, it gets driven like it's stolen. 6 years in, and all we have replaced is the drive belt, and rear springs. Hope this helps.
