MSP Airport 7/16/2024
The main mission of this outing was getting Condor's arrival and departure, which was successful, but I also got some other goodies including a FedEx A300F departure, Minnesota National Guard C130s doing a duo takeoff, Frontier's "Betty the Bluebird" departing, and Icelandair's departure with a 757 in their now-old paint scheme.

Ukrainian cargo airline Cavok Air made a visit to MSP with one of their Antonov An-12s. Looking at FlightAware it appears the flight originated in Leipzig, Germany and flew to Stavanger, Norway, then to St. John's, Canada, and now it's here for what I assume is a fuel stop. After visiting Brainerd I stopped at the Soo Line Trail in Royalton and did a short roundtrip on my bike between there and the town of Bowlus. Amtrak's westbound Empire Builder slowly arrives at St. Paul Union Depot. The BNSF locomotive and Soo Line caboose parked at the platform are for the upcoming Train Days festivities at the depot. At the beginning of the video if you look closely on the left you can see Amtrak's Borealis, which is parked on a spur track for the night.

All the noise in American Light Rail systems is ridiculous. Check out European countries. Ahead of the USA at least 20 years
@@peterhiggins4212 Having been to many European cities with various types of rail (trams, light rail, metro, etc.) it’s amazing to see the lack of bell ringing and horn honking. I think it has to do with people over there being more cautious around train tracks than Americans. There’s definitely people over there who also make dumb decisions around trains, but from what I’ve seen there’s less instances of that than in the USA.

I visited Jacksonville in 1992 and the system had just 3 stations back then being more a novelty than useful, with plans showing the extension across the river. The switches look quite massive.
