good on you for taking the plunge! some tips: - the more flexible the cup is, the harder is will be to open; I love mooncup the most because of the thick rim and firmness, but I hated it when I was just starting because I could feel it spring open; now I love the confirmation haha - it’s a lot easier to slide it in if you lube the rim, or at least get it wet - you have to either feel it pop open or try to move it up and down and rotate it until you feel the suction - if you still feel it once it’s in, trim the stem - while you get the hang of it, wear a pad with it for extra protection - for removal, I wrap my thumb and index around a wet wipe, and grab the stem through it; this helps avoid pinching, especially with longer nails (ouch) and prevents leackage from getting on your fingers; then I empty it in the toilet, wipe it down with a wipe and pop it in the sink for a final rinse before reinsertion - if I’m in a public bathroom without a sink in the stall I skip this, so just wipe and reinsert it can be a steep learning curve, but it’s totally worth imo. good luck!

I have a mental block about using one of my cooking pots for this, so I got a special cup for it and I nuke it in the microwave. and then in between cycles you can sanitize it with tablets, they’re really gentle, usually used for baby bottles

i have the same one and i found for me cutting the stem completely off was the best move and i prefer to insert and take mine out in the shower it’s just so quick and efficient! it’s a learning curve but don’t give up on it!! they’re so efficient and for me personally i never have to change it in public or anything of the sort which is a fear for most people.

For me my first 2 days I have to wear a liner or pad because it’s too heavy of a flow for just the cup. Especially since I use the smaller sized cup (because I’ve never had a child they recommend that one). But like others have said, you have to ensure it’s sitting inside you properly or it makes it hurt worse. That being said, sometimes you can’t get it to fit right always and I just supplement with a tampon or pad, in those cases. I’ve replaced mine once in the last 3-4 years

Hi, you just popped up on my FYP. It depends on the florf how often you need to change the cup. Also it might take a few tries before it opens corectly snd probably few cycles to get used to it and all. But if it hurts inside or makes your cramps worse - that is not supposed to be happening.
