DAVID FORD - SONG FOR THE ROAD (Guitar & Girl Crying Version
Переглядів 204 тис.16 років тому
Stunning performance by David Ford of the (almost) title song from his album 'Songs For The Road'. It is such a song and it was such a moving performance that the girl simply started crying...it was an amazing moment.
I only partially understood the song, my english is very bad, but the damn ninjas are slicing onions again somewhere.
18 years ago when my dear mother passed, I woke up in a full crying fit and this song was on tv live. Today as my father goes to join her again this song came back to me again. God bless
Hey Jason, thanks for your very moving and heartfelt comment. I was David's manager at that time and it was an incredible performance and one which, as you demonstrate, still resonates all these years later. Our commiserations and best wishes go out to you at this time. love DW & DF
Such an amazing talent! I also love go to hell
Simon Whistler sent me!
This is still so good! ❤️
nice to see your name after all this time... :)
My dad accidentally downloaded this off limewire over a decade ago. Beautiful song that I don’t see myself forgetting any time soon
When she cries, it melts me.
This one! Needs to come alive once again!!
Amazing!!!
This is so damn' good!
Does anyone know the chord progressiona at 2.30?

not "sinple" :D....simple
That is exactly how I heard him. I was and still am blown away every time I listen to his music.
Just give me one way to spend my lost moments alive.... I chose this.... I chose this, I chose this.
Choose.
Class! Nuff said.
Share it then - lets make him famous!
Outstanding. Seen Mr Ford live on 3 occasions & he is simply a wonderful musician, intelligent emotional lyricist and has a good sense of humour. Make the effort to go & see him if he is playing near you, always guaranteed to be a memorable night.
Beautiful - I love the Songs for the Road album. Go To Hell is awesome. This performance is brilliant.
flawless & beautiful......
Love David Ford's take of this moment in his book.
Fantastic. Even better for the fact no-one talking through it :)
I'm not gay but I'm in fucking love with this dude. Hahaha great job man. Seriously.
@valkyrieVigil I'd be prepared to bet that this guy will still be playing and performing long after J Blunt is just a distant happy clappy crappy memory... A lot of good music ends up labelled as Not Commericial Enough.
@EugeniousNat I meant sometimes :o)
WOW Feckin' WOW... Sometims there are no words
Genuine talent. Real emotions. Good music. Rare. What a gem. Makes me cringe one more cringe when I hear popular musicians....
unreal!!!!! one of the best. most natural voice i;ve heard
Loved this song for years. What a performance.
god..james blunt gets millions of view for retarded music and this guy who is a real musician, song writer and performer in every sense of those words...gets less thank 50k...there is something seriously wrong with music taste these days
Where was this broadcasted?
Here's a unique idea guys......shall I leave a comment about the actual tune? Tis amazin',every note and word perfectly perfect, A DJ at our radio station in Scotland introduced me to this guys music and I can't thank him enough! Thx for postin' it x
i'll cross that bridge when i rub my nose in it.
@razorbladekisses101 - Unfortunately you don't seem to grasp the fact that a person has more success making a point by showing great character. For someone telling others to "Get a life" you sure stayed on this argument for a while..
I really like the use of his hat and shirt, really increases the brilliant tone of his guitar...
I love u, forever. 143 my becca. -Cj Toady
: )
aaaah simply a pile of loosely connected vegetables...some ham if you're lucky
as you are 'savethequiche' i would actually take this as a compliment. for what is a quiche, were it not for the cheese?
Hi David-Brilliant stuff-Nice to hear you mention Sheffield in amongst your other emotion plus! superb, lyrics. Top Class.John Finn.
bit cheesey...
amazing, he is.
There's no fakin greatness and this kid is GREAT.
Lovely simple video of one of a very poignant song... The lyrics and melody are superb and it's a future classic in my opinion. In admiration, Carol Douglas.
yes, he's fantastic - we really enjoyed having him in for a Sun Studio Session taping. DVD of that coming out in 2009, as well as PBS airings!
I saw him in concert [opening for ingrid michaelson] yesterday!
he is by far the most under appreciated talent out there in the music industry. He's not flashy, but unlike alot of the "artists" out there now he has substance. I saw him live as well when he performed in New York. State of the Union is a fantastic song.
I've heard the piano version a million times, but this is first time I've heard the acoustic version..and I must say...this version is just as fantastic as the piano one...everytime I listen to his music I get goosebumps...absolutely amazing performer...and for those who haven't heard any of his other songs...go listen to State of The Union...freakin fantastic..!!!!
This is only the second song I've heard of yours David, and I'm absolutely hooked. You're one of the best writers/singers I've heard in years. Much respect, Carol.
