Try not to fill out your building on offence, especially around the middle rows, so that you have more freedom to use assist skills like slight to throw edelgard past the mountains, the "open" lanes are necessary for their team to work so they will instead have the real traps their to keep the space traversable while not being completely free to charge in.

That's not even that hard of a map, lock your team and take advantage of the five team slots

Oof this reminds me of when I started to make engage content, I had the same issue. You might need a new graphics cards and adjust some of the settings in ryujmx to fix the lag.
