Rather than using MultiMC, I would recommend the Prism Launcher as I've heard that Prism Launcher is pretty much a fork of MultiMC but with more features and should work on MacOS without the workarounds for attempting to open it a different method, it should be as simple as install, run and your well on your way to fun!
