Anyone else read this in junior high school and now with everything going on in the world listening to this again to get tips on what to put in their stock pile… what’s useful and what was useless???? If Kamkam wins I’m afraid this book and information will be the difference between death or survival!!!

Thank you so much for this! I love this book and I am listening to it for the second time! One note--I was an air force wife for 20 years. SAC is pronounced "sack." It isn't spelled out as S-A-C. Even tho it stands for Strategic Air Command, the abbreviation, SAC is pronounced as a word. But now I have to go back to listening to this amazing book!

Lovely reading of an horrid tale. Thank you for bringing it to us. Poe was truly an American master with a multitude of great works to his credit. As for short stories I have many favorites. If I HAD to pick ONE off the top of my head, I suppose I would choose Hop Frog. Also, as a poet he was really great. His poetry? It was first rate. Heavens, I've made a rhyme. I'm a poet and didn't know it. But my feet show it. They're Longfellow's (you may hurl much deserved scorn upon my head for that last bit. My daughter did). We look forward to your next installment of Katy's Reading Room. Be seeing you.
